Images

Description

Glitch is an fx plug-in that lets you bring rhythm and movement to your mixes, featuring a host-synced trance-gate and multi-tab delay, and the signature 'glitch' effect that rhythmically alters the playback speed of your track in real-time. This combination of effects lets you quickly create interesting vocal chops and modern syncopated beats, or transform any track into an almost unrecognisable rhythmic mix element, allowing for new and unexpected flavours.

Features

  • Intuitive, easy-to-navigate user interface
  • Designed to work flawlessly with touch controllers such as the Raven by Slate Media
  • Host-synced trance-gate with continuous smoothing control
  • One-knob host-synced multi-tab delay
  • Host-synced signature 'glitch' effect
  • High pass and low pass filter
  • Additional one-knob drive
  • Smoothed bypass and input and output volume controls
  • Preset manager to save & share your own effects
  • Glitch gives you several ways of transforming your tracks into flavourful and rhythmically interesting ways. The trance-gate lets you turn on and off 16 tabs to form a rhythmical pattern that syncs to your DAW project, either a full bar long or sped up multiple times. The gate's continuous 'Smooth' feature lets you soften the transitions between the gaps, allowing you to fine-tune its response for different pattern speeds.

  • For a more extreme and unexpected effect, the 'Glitch' control allows you to rhythmically alter the playback speed of your track, creating interesting host-synced pitch-shifting effects at different speeds, introducing multiple aliased frequencies in the process.

  • The 'Space' control at the end of the chain gives you six multi-tap delay presets with different filtering and panning to create more elaborate patterns and expand the stereo image of your track. For additional control, the plug-in features a high pass and low pass filter and drive control, as well as a smoothed bypass control and input and out volume control allowing for unhindered A/B testing. All in all, Glitch lets you transform your tracks in unexpected ways, giving new and exciting creative options.

Renegade Mini

Multi-Effect by SoundSpot

Images

Description

Creating basslines in modern music can be tricky. Getting them distorted and wide, whilst retaining mono compatibility often takes a lot of fine-tuning and experimentation so we created the Renegade Mini to simplify this process, and speed up your workflow.

As the name suggests, this is a scaled-down version of its big brother which will be coming out later in the year. But don’t let it’s simple interface fool you, the Renegade Mini is packed with the same processing technology as it’s big brother, in fact, the only difference is the scaled down GUI and the signal processing is the equivalent to an 11 plugin signal chain, so there’s a lot going on in the background.

The Renegade Mini is designed to let you quickly enhance your basslines, and is particularly useful in modern dance music production.

Features

  • Intuitive, easy to navigate user interface.
  • Designed to work flawlessly with touch controllers such as the Raven by Slate Media.
  • Advanced Distortion Signal Path
  • Stereo Enhancement
  • Sidechain Volume Shaper
  • When set to 0%, the drive parameter is totally transparent, allowing the signal to pass through unprocessed. When the drive is increased, the signal is pushed through the signal path which is equivalent to 11 individual plugins, ranging from compression to stereo enhancement with much more in between.

  • When driven, the signal path created a wider more distorted signal, that will give your basslines more weight and presence.

  • Whilst the Renegade Mini makes a huge difference to the stereo spread, it also retains it ’s integrity when the signal is collapsed to mono, so the additional colour will still shine through on club systems although less pronounced than stereo playback.

  • A WORD OF CAUTION… Always check your levels before increasing the drive too hard. By it’s very nature, the signal will become louder, so always remember to reduce the channel gain, before driving the parameter hard. You’re ears and monitors will thank you for it.

  • The Renegade Mini includes a sidechain volume shaper effect with 3 curves to choose from along with 6 x time settings. This enables you to create the pumping distorted swell that is commonplace in multiple dance music genres.

  • To select a curve simple click an icon to activate it. To select a time setting, simply click on the desired time found below the curve icons.

  • If required, the sidechain function can also be disabled by simply clicking on the “SIDECHAIN” label above the volume shaping icons.

Paradox

Multi-Effect by SoundSpot

Images

Description

Paradox is a multi-fx plug-in that features an advanced push-pull equalizer and a variable RMS-time parallel compressor, both offering stereo, mid and side options. Its clever signal path has an extremely pronounced character and lets you bring out certain elements in your mixes with incredible ease.

Features

  • Intuitive, easy-to-navigate user interface
  • Designed to work flawlessly with touch controllers such as the Raven by Slate Media
  • Four powerful push-pull filters with intuitive and simplified controls, with stereo, mid and side mode
  • Variable slope high pass and low pass filter with stereo, mid and side mode
  • Variable RMS-time compressor for analog emulation
  • High pass sidechain-filter for compressing tracks with loud kick and bass parts
  • Mix control for creating parallel compression
  • Preset manager to save & share your own effects
  • Push & Pull Equalizer

  • The ‘Equalizer’ module on the Paradox is designed to make push-pull filtering easy. This powerful equalization technique, with its recognisable filter curves, can help you bring your mixes to life, by adding uncanny definition to drums, bass, guitar, synths and vocals. Besides the filter’s ‘Frequency’ and ‘Gain’ controls, Paradox gives you three controls to dial in the push-pull shape in an easy and intuitive way. The ‘Curve’ control sets the width of the filter, the ‘Balance’ control sets the complementary filter boost, and the ‘Twist’ control biases the push-pull filter to the left or right. With the additional choose between stereo, mid and side mode per filter, the paradox ‘Equalizer’ provides you with an extremely musical workflow that delivers pronounced filtering effects in no time.

  • The ‘Compressor’ module on the Paradox uses SoundSpot’s ‘infinite’ gain reduction setup, and lets you emulate the behaviour of analog compression with its continuous ‘RMS-time’ control. Together with it’s continuous ‘mix’ feature, the Paradox ‘Compressor’ module lets you apply smooth compression in a very flexible way, as well as different parallel compression styles like ‘New York Compression’. In addition, the Compressor features a high pass sidechain-filter that allows you to ignore heavy kick and bass parts to achieve steady and predictable results even when compressing powerful electronic tracks.

Nebula

Multi-Effect by SoundSpot

Images

Description

Following the release of our creative reverb plugin 'Oracle', we've since been inundated with customer requests asking if we could release the 'Flanger' as a plugin in its own right. We thought this was a great idea, however, we felt we could further improve this and so began the development of Nebula.

Nebula is a multi-fx plugin that features Stereo Delay, Chorus, Flanger, Filter & LFO sections that can be used to add serious sonic madness to your music.

The signal path of Nebula is one that has been used by our in-house sound designers over the last 3 years, and has featured in a plethora of sample packs.

Following the combination of the signal path and 5x powerful effects, as well as an intuitive interface and super lightweight code, Nebula was born.

Features

  • Intuitive, easy-to-navigate user interface
  • Designed to work flawlessly with touch controllers such as the Raven by Slate Media
  • Stereo delay with visual feedback
  • Quick target LFO for creating signal movement
  • Bandpass delay filter to sculpt the sound and remove unwanted frequencies
  • Flanger effect for creating unique movement to the delay
  • Global bandpass filter that can be modulated
  • Chorus effect for creating unique movement to the delay
  • Preset manager to save & share your own delay designs
  • 5 FX Modules

  • The 5 FX modules in the Nebula can be used individually, as well as within the predefined signal path. Simply click the power icons at the top of each module button to activate the effect. The power buttons work independently from the module select buttons, which is useful when working in another module and wanting to quickly bypass other effects to A/B test.

  • The 'Delay' module on the Nebula contains a host of features that allow you to create depth and space to your sounds. You can remove any unwanted frequencies using the filter button, which flips into its own dedicated section - work in mono or stereo mode by linking the left and right channels, add dotted or triplet variations to the left or right signal and control the feedback and mix of the effect with ease. The display provides you with visual feedback, enabling you to make accurate decisions when designing your delayed signal.

  • The 'Chorus' module can be used to add additional width to your sound by creating a detuned effect. The rate parameter allows you to select the speed of the effect, whilst the depth controls the amount of pitch variation required. Feedback controls the amount of modulated signal that is fed back into itself, and the mix parameter allows you to blend the effect with the original signal. There is also an option to flip between a mono and stereo effect.

  • The 'LFO' module is where the magic happens and can be used to bring your sound design to life. The left-hand side of the module has target selectors, allowing you to control various parameters within the other modules. The LFO itself has 4x different waveshapes, including sawtooth, sine, triangle and square. Each of the waveshapes can be flipped independently to create a polar opposite of the effect. The LFO time can be set from 1/32 to 32 bars and can be used to create percussive-grooves, or an effect that modulates over a longer period of time. The range parameter specifies how much of the LFO is applied to the original signal.

  • The 'Flanger' module can be used to add additional movement to the sound. Using a slow 'Rate' will create subtle movement, whilst using a fast 'Rate' will create a dramatic effect. 'Depth' controls the detuning of the signal and 'Feedback' controls the amount of modulated signal that is fed back into itself. The 'Mix' parameter can be used to blend the effect into the mix, as well as being controllable via the LFO to gradually or quickly change over time. The Flanger also includes the same mono stereo controls as the 'Chorus', which means you can have one effect working in the middle, whilst the other takes control of the full stereo image.

  • The 'Filter' cut works on the entire signal and can be manipulated to great effect by the LFO. The module has mid, side and stereo modes giving you great flexibility for manipulating the end of the signal path. The filter features a low-cut and high-cut controls which range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, as well as slope controls that cover 12 dB per octave through to 48 dB.

Axis

Multi-Effect by SoundSpot

Images

Description

When you’re mixing or mastering music, sometimes you may find yourself in a situation where you need to manipulate the audio in a way that falls outside the realms of what a conventional plugin can do, and with this in mind, SoundSpot set out to create a plugin that can solve this problem.

Introducing the Axis... The Axis is a combination of two of their most popular plugins, the MSW1 & Propane with the addition of a brand new upwards and downwards compressor that is capable of dual directional compression which can be both subtle and brutal. But it doesn’t end there! SoundSpot have made the whole unit multiband, for complete control over the incoming signal, allowing you to manipulate the audio to get punch, clarity, groove or sparkle without the need to load up a huge number of individual plugins.

The Axis linear phase has been made to be lightweight, so go wild... The only limit is your imagination.

Features

  • Intuitive, easy to navigate user interface.
  • Designed to work flawlessly with touch controllers such as the Raven by Slate Media.
  • Multiband Layout
  • Individual Compressor, Imager & Metering module per band
  • Simultaneous Upwards & Downward compression
  • Parallel Compression mixing
  • Mid Side Panning
  • Mono Maker
  • Stereo Widener
  • Individual Band Anti Pop Bypass
  • Individual Band Isolation Mode
  • Preset Manager with new preset scrub through feature
  • Compressor Module

  • Compression is a key element to giving your music that professional sound, and each Axis compression module comes loaded with features to do just that.

  • The most significant feature on the compression modules is the downward and upward compression parameter, that can add life to a dull mix, or make a snare drum snap through the mix.

  • Imager Module

  • Good imaging makes all the difference in taking your music to the next level. By giving musical elements space to breath, the mix will instantly sound clearer and less fatiguing the listener.

  • The Axis imager module is loaded with features that allow you to manipulate the audio positioning in ways that no other singular plugin can do.

  • Metering Module

  • Gain staging is an important aspect in achieving a well balanced mix, so the Axis features it’s own per band dedicated metering and gain levelling module. The module also includes an RMS meter, so you can check your perceived loudness at a glance.

  • Band Isolation

  • The band isolation parameters allow you to cut the signal to other bands that you are not working with. This is useful when you need to tune your settings on a band as all other signals will mute.

  • Band Bypass

  • Each module has a band bypass function, which allows you to switch between the original and affected signal. This is useful when doing A/B comparisons, and can be especially useful to check your edits in context to the whole mix.

  • New Preset Manager

  •  A preset manager that allows you to switch between presets with a click is now included.

Hiku

Multi-Effect by SoundSpot

Images

Description

Punch, Warmth and Presence, instantly.

Give your masters, buses or individual tracks extra polish with this smart effect. HIKU might only have three controls, but under the hood, there’s a precise mix of processing tailored to add warmth, power and clarity to any audio signal.

As well as sounding great on single tracks or groups, HIKU is a vital stage in any mastering chain.

HIKU’s processing is split into two bands. You can control the frequency of this split using the frequency dial. Both the low and high bands are processed using saturation for crunch and character, parallel processing for punch and control, and stereo imaging for definition. The algorithms on each side of the frequency split are tailored towards the different processing needs of low-frequency and high-frequency audio.

The central Mix parameter dials in the amount of HIKU’s effect that’s applied to the signal. Set it to low levels to subtly cook the audio, and push it to higher levels to bring life back into stale sounds.

You can raise the end-to-end crossover frequency dial to 20,000Hz to get HIKU’s low processing over the entire signal, or lower it to 20Hz to get HIKU’s high processing on a whole channel.

Use the top-left gain control to compensate for any level changes introduced by HIKU, and bypass the plugin to audition the signal before and after processing.

HalfTime

Multi-Effect by Cableguys

Images

Description

Instant Creative Half-Speed Effect

For Trap • EDM • Hip-Hop • Techno • House • And More

Enter a world of spaced-out, slowed-down sound with HalfTime, the only plugin 100% dedicated to half-speed effects, in use by Armin van Buuren, David Guetta, members of 808 Mafia, The Chemical Brothers and more.

HalfTime transforms any audio into a dark, downtempo version of itself, giving your tracks huge mood and atmosphere. Lead synths mutate into heavyweight EDM bass monsters. Plinky piano lines become haunting trap melodies. Percussion thickens, expanding to reveal new rhythmic possibilities.

Just add the plugin for an instant half-speed effect with zero set-up, or go in deep with powerful creative controls. HalfTime works on loops, virtual instruments or even live audio input, inspiring you in seconds.

The hands-on 'Power' button makes it easy to fit HalfTime into your tracks - create a rapid switch or sink in slowly with smooth fades up to 16 bars.

Three-speed 'Modes' give you classic half-speed, tight harmonies and shuffling swing rhythms, and drugged-out quad-time playback. Adjustable 'Loop' length allows multi-bar slow-downs, funky syncopations and totally new grooves.

Slow only the lows, mids or highs with the 'Band' split - generate deep bass movement, fatten midrange percussion, or flip your top-end on its head.

Features

  • Instant setup: Add the plugin – get an instant half-speed effect with no further setup.
  • Power button: Punch the large central button to activate the effect – automate in your DAW.
  • Fade In/Out: Introduce the effect instantly, or fade in gradually, across up to 16 bars.
  • 3-speed Modes: 2x for the classic "half-speed" effect. 1.5x for perfect fifth harmonies and triplet rhythms. 4x speed for drugged-out quad-time playback.
  • Band Split: Half-speed just the bass, treble or midrange for trippy effects.
  • Band Solo: Hear just the slowed frequency range – use it to hone the effect, as a filter, or to blend using the Mix control.
  • Dry/Wet Mix: Blend the original and slowed audio.
  • Loop Length: Set the Loop from 1/16 up to 8 bars – keep the original timing, stretch it to half speed, or create catchy new rhythms.
  • Smooth: Preserve transient punch with 'Percussive' mode, and avoid clicks and pops on sustained material with 'Sustain' mode. Or push it to extremes with creative FX and Swell options.
  • Cableguys Quality: Best-in-class down pitching DSP algorithms. Great sound, low CPU, minimal aliasing.
  • Window Scaling: From 75% to 200%, the crisp Retina-ready interface fits your screen size and workflow.

The Sweeper

Multi-Effect by denise

Images

Description

Shape Your Sound

Dynamic frequency Sweeping is a new way to be creative and open up your mix. It’s a more natural alternative to side-chain compression and gating and a creative tool that lets you completely reshape your sound.

How does it work?

The Sweeper plugin is a dynamic envelope following a filter with sidechain input. The plugin works by responding to a received input, either directly or via the sidechain, and moving a low pass filter or high pass filter to the shape of that input. This gives the plugin incredible flexibility and a broad range of uses, whether that’s with generating effects, or being used more precisely as a mixing tool. The plugin is suitable as a more natural-sounding and precise alternative to sidechain compression, for example.

Bass XL

Multi-Effect by denise

Images

Description

Lazer sharp tool for creating a massive and controlled low end for your tracks in seconds. compression and EQ: eat your heart out.

The Bass XL adds weight and also works great on melodic content. Enhance a bass or electric guitar, a kick drum, sub-bass, percussion track or a whole drum sub-mix.

Features

  • Tone Dial - Full control over the character and colour of your boost.
  • Volume Independent Drive - A consistent sound in dynamic tracks.
  • Low CPU usage - Different filter slopes and position the low-end boost in time.
  • Easy to Use - Simple for creating a massive and controlled low end.
  • No need for dongles or complex licence managers.
  • Fully resizable interface
  • What’s great about the Bass XL is how fast and precisely you can work with it. Choose which frequency to boost, apply the boost with the mix control and then choose a filter slope to set the width of the boost. Steep slopes make the boost sound more resonant and precise, while gentle slopes make the boost sound more gradual and warm. Saturate and colour the sound with the drive and tone control. Repeat steps until happy with the results. For an extra tight or loose sound, use the ‘position’ to move the bass boost backwards and forwards in time.

  • 1. “You like your mix, but it’s not sounding fat enough in the low end.” Creating a fat-sounding track requires a powerful but defined and controlled low end, which is not an easy thing to accomplish. Regular EQ and compression might only take you so far. With the Bass XL, you can quickly dial in a defined low-end boost that will push and colour the low end of your mix or bus in an extremely controlled and precise way.

  • 2. “You like the overall sound and attack of your kick drum, but the low end is not consistent enough.” It can be hard to control the low-end dynamics of an inconsistent kick drum or any live recorded percussion instrument with regular EQ and compression. With the Bass XL, you can easily dial in a consistent punchy sound around 80hz to 100hz, additional chesty sub around 60hz, or general warmth to even out the low end of your recordings, especially with higher drive settings.
  • 3. “Your bass line’s low end lacks definition or power on certain notes and won’t sustain your mix.” Recording a stable bass part can be difficult, especially when recorded in a room with compromised acoustics. When certain notes in your recording lack definition or power, or are overly resonant, you can apply small EQ cuts to even out the bass completely and then apply Bass XL to boost the low end as a whole again for a more balanced low end.

Urban Puncher

Multi-Effect by United Plugins

Images

Description

Deliver Punch in Seconds

Hours of mixing and your drum loops still sounds like s... something you are not satisfied with? Don't waste that time anymore. If the solid, strong, proud, and punchy sound is what you desire then take a shortcut. Urban Puncher delivers it within a second. Save your time and ears for mixing other elements. The drum issue is solved with Urban Puncher.

Features

  • Punch - Controls the dynamic process with transients treatment and spectral shaping. The more the fist glows the bigger punch you give the loop.
  • Dry/Wet - This knob defines how much of the effected sound is mixed in with the original signal. 0 - Only dry sound goes out. 100 only Puncher sound goes out.
  • Saturation - Defines the amount of saturation applied on the punch effect - from gentle to harsh.
  • Destroy  - Triples the amount of saturation defined by the Saturation knob.
  • Output - Defines the overall output volume +/-24dB.
  • Power - Bypasses the effect.
  • How it works

  • Urban Puncher is an effect that gives a "punch" to your percussive material (drums, percussion). Intended for drum loops but works instantly on anything that you can call drum hit. Your loops will step out of the shadows immediately. Urban Puncher delivers a stronger and more solid feel in no time.

  • How to use it?

  • Urban Puncher is a definitive drum improving tool for any urban music producer. It doesn't matter much if you can put it on your drum channel after or before your EQ or comp. Simply dial how strong the punch your tracks get should be and mix it with the original sound and let Urban Puncher do its magic.

  • What is a "Punch"? There's not a simple answer to that. The punch knob controls several processes at the same time. It can be described as an esoteric dynamic process with transients treatment and spectral shaping.

  • Analogue-like transformer/tube blended emulation of saturation gives the punch a completely different feel. Use it gently to make your track blend in easily or dial the Saturation knob all the way up to get the real street sounds.

  • And you can even punish your drum loops with the Destroy button. Hitting that triples the values you dial with the saturation knob. That results in a heavier form of distortion.

  • Although the primary UrbanPuncher intention is for drum loops it is not where you should stop. The plugin can give extra punch to other instruments such as acoustic guitar or piano. Don't be afraid to experiment.

  • Hassle-free software protection

  • No iLok, no dongle nor internet access is required for activation. Urban Puncher uses license files to activate your software. You can freely use the purchased software on all your computers as long as you are the user.

  • Realistic 3D yet flexible GUI

  • The photorealistic graphic user interface of the plugin gives you the feeling you are touching the real hardware. But it easily adapts to your needs. You can always drag the arrow in the bottom right corner to change its size - make it smaller to save valuable screen space, or enlarge it to make it easier to use.

  • 64-bit audio quality at ANY sampling rate

  • The plugin provides the maximum audio quality you can get. It uses internal 64-bit audio processing and can handle any sampling rate. 192 kHz or even higher.

  • Smart bypass

  • The intelligent way United Plugins manage bypassing ensures that you don't get any clicks or harmful noises when automating the parameter. It also compensates for latency ensuring that the bypass states are perfectly in sync with each other.

  • Intelligent sleep on silence

  • This plugin intelligently detects whether it makes sense to perform processing at all. And if not, it temporarily turns on sleep mode. In such a state, it requires virtually no CPU at all saves the computing sources for other processes.

Lifeline Expanse Lite

Multi-Effect by Excite Audio

Images

Description

Breathe Life into Audio

Important Note: This is the Lite version of Lifeline Expanse with reduced functionality. The full version of Lifeline Expanse is also available. A comparison table of features is available at the bottom of this product page.

The Lifeline series begins with Lifeline Expanse Lite – a fast and intuitive multi-effect that breathes life into any sound by adding character, space and width.

Lifeline Expanse Lite creates authenticity and realism by using intricate re-amping techniques. Re-amping is the process of taking an audio signal and playing it out in an environment. The signal is sent through amps, mics and effects to add colour, texture and depth, then re-recorded.

Lifeline Expanse Lite distils this complex technique into a modern, sleek workflow that offers producers instant flexibility and control over every element. Rearrange the signal chain and delicately blend effects using each module's unique controls.

Overview

  • 5 Effects Modules
  • 20 Unique Algorithms
  • Rearrangeable Modular workflow
  • Resizeable UI
  • Zero Latency

Replicate Realism

Re-amping helps to shape sounds and draw out their unique character. Where producers and engineers once needed hours to set up studios to create ambience and realistic room tones, Expanse can instantly create a realistic ‘live’ environment in a few clicks.

Expanse has a versatile range of speaker emulations to experiment with, ranging from classic recording equipment to modern-day devices. From a Gameboy and vintage 8-track recorder to high definition monitors and an electric guitar cabinet, decades of audio authenticity is ready and waiting. You can easily manipulate the age, tone and mix of each element to emphasise each device’s individual qualities.

  • Device: Emulations of small consumer electronics such as phone and laptop speakers.
  • Cabinet: Emulations of medium-sized guitar cabinets.
  • Monitors: Emulations of larger studio monitors with a rich frequency response.
  • Vintage: Uses the impulse responses from vintage recording equipment including a classic 8-track cassette recorder and a ribbon microphone.

Enhance Harmonics

Dirt uses classic saturation to swerve between subtle warmth and thickness through to hard-hitting distortion and fuzz. Whether you need delicate textures or aggressive overdrive, Dirt takes on the challenge, effortlessly. Warm your mixes with gentle tape or tube saturation, or add a gritty edge to vocals, guitars, basses, synths and drums with Rectify and Fuzz.

The Tube, Tape, Rectify and Fuzz algorithms instantly add distortion, saturation, aggressive harmonics and noise to any sound you want. Using the Drive and Tone controls, the character of each effect can be easily dialled in to suit any context.

  • Tube: Smooth saturation for all-around analogue warmth. Increasing the drive provides heavier distortion.
  • Tape: Adds subtle warmth, glue and fullness. Increase the drive for extra punch.
  • Rectify: Introduces extra harmonics and fuzz an octave above the incoming signal.
  • Fuzz: A heavy guitar fuzz for extreme harmonic overtones.

Digital Damage

Reducing audio resolution to boost your sonic creativity. This is where Format shines – restricting digital audio data to produce warm, grainy layers, or much harsher digital deconstructions, depending on how far you want to take it.

Every element of Format brings a distinct flavour. Degrade and Resample reduce the bit-depth and sample rate to collide two contrasting directions of digital distortion. Flatten combines these effects with a gate to toy with the resolution of the signal’s volume peaks, whilst Washed floods the audio to twist the sound wave into a bubbling, corrupted MP3.

  • Degrade: Reduces bit depth of incoming audio and causes digital distortion.
  • Resample: Reduces the sample rate of the audio and causes digital distortion.
  • Washed: An ‘underwater’ distortion that sounds like a corrupted low-quality MP3.
  • Flatten: A combination of a gate and bitcrusher that reduces the resolution of the audio during transients.

Dream in Stereo

Give your audio movement, energy and tension by making the most of the stereo field. Manipulating stereo width is a vital processing technique in modern music production and allows producers to explore the full reaches of the sonic landscape. Expanse’s unique width controls can help you create vast soundscapes, captivating leads and intimate vocal takes.

Whether it’s through panning, pitching, signal boosting or detuning, Expanse offers balanced and detailed control over your mix. Access the full spectrum of your audio’s potential by utilising effective, streamlined parameters to produce any kind of stereo width processing.

  • Haas: Creates stereo width by duplicating the audio signal.
  • Mid / Side: Alters the balance between the mid and side signal.
  • Detune: Adds pitch variation for a wide, chorusing effect.
  • Mono: Reduces the width of the audio

A New Dimension

Reverb gives sound its organic and vibrant feel. The sonic reflections echo and decay, building natural room and depth in the mix. Use Expanse’s ultra-flexible Space module early in the signal chain as a reverb effect pedal or place it at the end to create a limitless environment for your instruments to explore.

Taking inspiration from classic reverb functions, Expanse focuses on four different algorithms that each offer a wide spectrum of space and time manipulation – the resulting reflections can be realistic and organic or synthetically stretched out. With reverb, time and space are key, and Expanse gives you the parameters and tools to precisely apply as much as you need.

  • Plate: A classic, fast sounding plate reverb producing the sound of vibrations through metal.
  • Hall: A real-sounding room reverb at its smallest and a large concert hall at its largest.
  • Spring: An emulation of the metallic and vintage-sounding spring reverb from a guitar amp.
  • Slap: Slapback delay that can either add a single realistic, early reflection or create metallic feedback mayhem.

Fundamental Bass

Multi-Effect by W.A. Production

Images

Description

Get Low

As a famous vocalist once sang, “It’s all about the bass” and in as far as most genres of music are concerned, she’d be correct! Bassline balancing has always been a big challenge for producers, especially at the mixing stage, as the dynamic range of low-end material can be huge. If you leave bass lines as they are, then they’ll threaten to unbalance the rest of your mix, but apply compression too liberally and a lively bass sound will have the life sucked out of it. So what to do?

That’s where Fundamental Bass comes in, giving you a quick way to tighten up the dynamics of your low end whilst keeping the snap and sparkle of mids and highs. The processing is achieved with an adjustable frequency split which feeds to two separate modules for processing. The low band features twin-compressors and imaging adjustment for clarity and mono compatibility. The high band compresses and adds grit, enhancing natural harmonics whilst keeping the bounce of the bass.

With a clutch of useful parameters and a comprehensive range of presets, all you need to worry about is where to set the frequency split for maximum dance floor destruction.

Low & High-Frequency Split

The main concept behind Fundamental Bass is in the way it splits audio into high and low modules for independent processing. This way of mixing bass ensures that the low end is smoothly compressed without losing the excitement of mid and high-frequency dynamics. Green (low) and yellow (high) coloured modules make it easy to see which range you’re adjusting, and each has separate on/off buttons, gain sliders and mix ratio dials.

Low Module

The Balance dial sets a compression level with up to -60dB attenuation. Make-up gain is automatically applied. The Flatten dial is a more aggressive compressor, used for evening out the dynamics of really bouncy bass lines or acoustic material with a wide dynamic range. Experiment with these two compression types to control your bass whilst still maintaining the groove.

High Module

Use the Balance dial to introduce gentle compression and the Drive dial to add a little (or a lot) of grit to the sound. You get tube-style saturation at low levels and full-on distortion when pushed harder. Careful tweaking of this control can add sparkling top-end to bass lines whilst keeping the low end clean and clear.

High & Low Pass Filters

Manoeuvre your bass line out of the way of your kick with the high pass filter handle - simply drag to determine a lower frequency limit and your kick and bass separation will sound much clearer. You can also ditch troublesome high frequencies that might be conflicting with other instruments. Just use the low pass filter handle to set a limit.

Split-stereo Imaging

An age-old producer trick is to collapse bass lines to mono. This ensures that they will mesh with the kick more effectively and better translate to a wider range of playback systems. Fundamental Bass can perform this trick easily, with independent stereo imaging sliders for the low and high modules. Set the low module to mono and high module to stereo to maintain the lively top end whilst centering any wandering low frequencies.

Mix & Balance

With independent gain controls for both the high and low modules, plus mix ratio dials for parallel processing, you can use Fundamental Bass for either subtle changes or powerfully expressive makeovers. The master clipper smooths out the dynamics of the outgoing audio and the output level slider allows you to set an accurate level for accurate A/Bing with the pop-free bypass control.

Visual Feedback

The live frequency display towards the top of the interface shows exactly what’s happening to the signal as it’s being processed in real-time. Separate green and yellow meters correlate with the coloured high and low modules so you can visually monitor what’s happening each time you make a parameter change, with precision and accuracy.

Presets

With many included factory and artist presets, it’s easy to find the perfect starting point for your own bespoke bass tone. Tailored to specific bass characteristics and even other instruments, these factory options can be used to quickly cycle through parameter snapshots. The presets include everything from full-range bass compression, to frequency-specific transformations.

W.A. Production are real-life producers making creative plugins to help you achieve studio quality processing quickly and easily. Enjoy!

Possibilities are extended even further with the use of real-time visualization of the stereo field, full parameter automation, and the option to save and share presets.

Full Automation of all Parameters

Loop Lab has the capacity to fully automate any parameter. This powerful feature unlocks the plugin’s full potential by allowing you to create more complex and expressive sounds than what’s possible with manual tweaking.
