Originally designed for EDM productions, but useful for a variety of genres, this clever workstation will conjure chords of all shapes and sizes with just a couple of clicks. Try out new ideas for your tracks within the intuitive interface and let this plugin take the strain, from suggesting single 4-note chords to producing entire 8-chord riffs.

CHORDS must be assigned to a MIDI track or instrument track on your DAW via MIDI In. For the required routing setup, follow instructions in the manual of your DAW. The innovative software will generate looped options for up to 8 chords with full control over chord shape, inversions, velocity and more. Then just drag the MIDI straight from the plugin to your project, letting your creativity flow freely, guided by the suggestions from CHORDS.

Global or Granular

Use the global controls to adjust inversions, length, speed and root key of the entire playback, making on-the-fly adjustments to your entire riff a simple process. To get into the detail, click a segment for more granular control over chord shapes (including major/minor variations), individual inversions and velocity. 

Simple Segments

With up to 8 segments, each containing a different chord type, you can choose to trigger between one and four notes per chord. The playback of these segments syncs to the host BPM of your DAW, always remaining locked in time. You can add and subtract segments with ease and change a range of parameters, independently for each segment. 

Essential Parameters 

Each segment can be programmed with inversions from -6 to +6, transforming chord shapes and placing the root note inside of the chord itself. Experiment by pushing the lowest notes up an octave, or highest notes down an octave, turning your chords inside out.

Just The Tonic

With your chords loaded and a segment chosen, use the 18 buttons in the centre of the interface to choose Tonic, Subdominant or Dominant chord shapes. From simple triads, right through to more complex shapes, let CHORDS find the right notes for any related chord. Fancy a G7sus4 or a Bm7b5? Just let this plugin find the correct notes and work out the difficult stuff for you.

Export MIDI

To get the chord progressions into your own projects, simply drag and drop from the plugin to your DAW. Then you can edit to your heart’s content, chopping up the MIDI, transposing and twisting the CHORDS suggestions to suit your own style of music.

The Guitar Pro features have been extended to include tablature editing for 9- and 10-string guitars. The chord diagrams and the fretboard also adapt to those instruments. Thus, Guitar Pro 7.6 now makes it possible to edit tablatures for 3- to 10-string instruments.

Enhanced soundbanks for orchestra and ukulele

Guitar Pro's audio rendering makes use of a library that includes over 200 realistic instrument sounds, which allows you to fine-tune the sounds of the tracks in your compositions exactly as you wish. We have improved the accuracy of the soundbanks for the following instrument families: strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, and ukulele.

Drums instrument view optimized for editing

With the drums view, you can choose to display the drum-kit components above each notehead on the score preview. If you like writing your drum tracks in tablature with MIDI numbers, these are detailed on the bottom part of the window so they can be selected quickly without need to memorize MIDI numbers.

Merging and splitting staves

This new tool converts a single-staff track into a two-staff track and vice versa.

A Phrase Arpeggiator for Creating Expressive Sequences from MIDI Chords

Turn simple chord sequences into expressive melody lines and musical phrases. Simply design your phrase in the piano roll, and Phrasebox will playback the pattern using whatever notes you input.

You have complete control over how the phrase is played. Select notes in pitch order, or use the special selectors – such as the loudest/quietest or first-played/last-played. Your phrase will be played back with sample-accurate timing.

DAW-Like Control

Phrasebox isn't like traditional step sequencers or arpeggiators – you have full control over the timing and length of notes as you would in your DAW. Alongside velocity controls, you can also adjust each note's transposition, and even select a random chance that the note will play.

If your transpositions end up falling between the notes of a scale, you can enable the "Lock To Key" feature to make sure your riffs are always in tune.

Controller Editing

Alongside note patterns, you can also send MIDI controller data. With up to 8 assignable controllers, you can design everything from piano parts using the hold pedal, to automated synth filters and pitch bends to make the perfect melody line.

Phrasebox is a phrase arpeggiator that gives you control over the playback like never before. With its DAW-like piano roll, you can create expressive, layered melodies that aren't limited in timing and length compared to traditional step arpeggiators.

The notes of the piano roll correspond to the pitch order of notes, with "special" notes (like the loudest or quietest notes played), which let you control exactly which notes you want to play. Scaler 2 can listen to incoming MIDI or audio data and detect the key your music is in. After this, it will suggest chords and chord progressions that will fit with your song. Scaler 2 can send MIDI to a virtual instrument in your DAW, and it has 45 onboard instruments to play with as well.

Scaler 2 comes with over 400 song and genre-based chord sets and over 200 artist chord sets to inspire new progressions and melodies; plus, choose from hundreds of scales and modes to get your creative juices flowing. What is it?

InstaScale is a newly invented, scale oriented instrument with only 16 keys to play with. But wait, is that enough? Turns out it's more than enough. Unlike the standard keyboard instruments where each key can only play a single note, InstaScale has a set of smart keys, each one capable of playing different notes. The new note will be based on the given scale, last note's position and the action of the key assigned to it.

InstaScale is available as a MIDI processor plugin that can be used in any DAW that supports VST instrument plugins (with MIDI routing) or AU MIDI effect plugins, given you the freedom to play any instrument you choose without any limitations regarding the sound and hardware.

What can I use it for?

• Learning. With all the scales included in the plugin and various information displayed on the interface, Instascale can be a valuable source to study and learn different scales and modes very quickly.
• Ear Training. Get familiar with the scales in different keys and modes without having to know how to play them. Train your ear to recognize intervals and distances quickly. Using the home feature you can stay on a certain note and see what feelings it creates compared to the other notes of that scale.
• Serious playing. Instascale might seem like a strange and unfamiliar instrument at first but don't be fooled, like any other instrument with enough practice and dedication you can play a kind of mind blowing music that you could have never done with any other instrument out there.
• Experimenting and getting inspired. Considering that you can never hit a wrong note with Instascale, just play random keys and get inspired by the unpredictable but musically pleasant results. Happy accidents always happen. You don't even have to use your MIDI keyboard, you can use your drum pad/kit, map the pads to the correct keys and start playing. You'd be surprised how cool it feels and sounds.
• Breaking the rules. The foundation of the plugin is based on doing things differently, knowing the rules first and then breaking them. So let it inspire you to go even further and find new ways to create music without limiting your mind to the concept of black and white keys and minor and major scales. The plugin guards the rules but lets you change them, bend them or break them. It lets you change the scale, root and home notes on the fly, do crazy runs, it even allows you to create your own experimental scales.

How does it work?

InstaScale works as a VST instrument and AU MIDI effect plugin. It receives midi data from the controller and swaps it with the processed one. In VST mode the output can be routed to any other instrument in the host application using the available routing functions in that host. The AU version works as a midi effect only in hosts like Logic Pro x that supports the type. There are 16 playing keys that will be used to play the target instrument. What these keys do and where they're placed on the controller can be customized. They can have static offset values like 'Home' or a relative ones like '+2' or '-3'. Using this offset value and the previous note, the plug-in calculate the actual note the key plays. you can read more about the playing keys in the manual. In addition to playing keys there are some control keys that can be used to change and control some of the parameters of the plugin like scale and octave directly from the MIDI controller.

MIDI Sampling Is Finally Here

Introducing reMIDI 2, the follow up to reMIDI that allows you to take MIDI sampling to the next level with its new features. reMIDI 2 is a MIDI effect plugin that samples musical notes from MIDI files that allows you to quickly find, chop, key shift and time-stretch samples and map them to a controller.

reMIDI 2 is a plugin instrument capable of outputting MIDI as well as audio. A simple sine wave synth sound is built in for scratch work, so you can quickly find a loop for export as a MIDI file entirely within it.

The idea is to trigger other instruments via reMIDI, and how this is set up depends on the host DAW. For VST hosts (ie, Ableton Live), reMIDI loads as an instrument plugin onto a MIDI track, the output of which is sent to a second track (hosting the target instrument) using the DAW’s routing system.

For Audio Unit hosts (ie, Logic Pro), the included reMIDI_MFX MIDI effect plugin is loaded up instead. This is identical to the regular reMIDI, but it sits in front of the target instrument on the same track, outputting MIDI directly. It’s certainly the more elegant of the two approaches, although it only captures the raw triggering notes to the track, not the chords output by the plugin.

Each pad is assignable to have its own selected slice from the MIDI file loaded into the pad. You can combine different MIDI files (for melodic/drum MIDI) or record MIDI into pads from reMIDI MIDI input/output.

The complete set contains over 1000 files in 11 volumes. Each volume contains 100 Jazz block chord progressions in MIDI format.

These MIDI files can be dragged into any DAW, but why not just use SongWish’s reMIDI 2, a MIDI sampler VST. reMIDI 2 can load these MIDI files with some convenient features to play and edit them with.

You can animate these block chords with other MIDI utilities such as arpeggiators. Or get your jazz hands-on editing these progressions in your favourite DAW by modifying, adding/removing notes, or even changing the timing.
