BLEASS Phaser

Description

All-around Phasing Effect

All-encompassing phasing effect with a vast array of sonic possibilities, from resonant swirls to stunning atmospheric stereo sounds.

BLEASS Phaser is an all-encompassing phasing effect which offers a vast array of sonic possibilities, from resonant swirls to stunning atmospheric stereo sounds.

A colorful and magnetizing Spectrum View coincides with the notch frequencies, and brings an instantly pleasing sonic and optic effect into the sound design process.

Popularised by everyone from Queen to Chromeo, Jean-Michel Jarre to Tame Impala, the phaser effect is great for many instruments such as synthesizer, guitar, bass, and vocals.

No modulation collection would be complete without a phaser. This is why BLEASS Phaser delivers at the same time all of the classic phasing effects through 40 refined presets as well as a large pull of stereo functionalities and interweaving modulations thanks to its frequency & spread LFOs, as well as a precise control over the stereo.

The phaser effect processes the signal through successive all-pass filters and adds the resulting signal to the original to create phase cancellation around certain frequencies (notches). A feedback loop reinjects a certain amount of the processed signal back into the filters chain.

PHASER stage:

  • Notches: sets the number of all-pass filters, adding a filter creates a new notch in the signal’s spectrum. Notches count can go from 1 to 24.
  • Frequency: sets the center frequency of the phaser (the frequency of the all-pass filters).
  • Spread: sets the spacing between the notches by changing the Q factor of the filters.
  • Feedback: sets the amount of processed signal reinjected into the filters chain. Feedback can be negative.
  • Feedback Color: sets the frequency of a low-pass filter applied to the feedback signal.
  • Spectrum: a spectrum view representing the estimated frequency position of the notches. Touching this view will adjust the center frequency.

FREQUENCY LFO & SPREAD LFO stages:

  • Sine LFOs that modulate the center frequency and the spread parameter of the phaser.
  • Sync: sets the sync state between BEAT (synchronised with the host transport and tempo) and FREE.
  • Shape: sets the shape of the LFO between Sine and Triangle.
  • Rate: sets the LFO rate in Hertz if Sync is set to Free or in fraction of a bar if Sync is set to Beat.
  • Phase: sets the phase difference between left and right channels.
  • Amount: sets the amplitude of the LFO.

Phase Motion 2

Phaser by AudioThing

Images

Description

Advanced Stereo Phaser

Phase Motion 2 is a stereo phaser plugin featuring up to 32 phasing stages. The Rate can be adjusted in Hertz or it can be synced to the host/DAW tempo. You can choose 6 waveforms (sine, triangle, ramp up, rump down, square, random) to modulate the phase, and you can tweak Depth and Feedback to get a classic vintage phaser sound or extreme digital modulations. From version 2 you can have different settings for the left and right channel.

Phase Motion 2 is a stereo phaser, meaning you can have different settings on each channel. Essentially it is like having two phasers, one for the Left and one for the Right channel.

Phase Motion 2 - Stereo Selector

By clicking on the L or R button, the parameters will only control the selected channel. Instead, when the Link icon is selected, both L and R parameters will be affected.

Tips to make a thicker stereo phaser sound:

  • Have the same settings on both L and R channel, but slightly change one or two parameters on one channel only
  • Have a positive amount of Feedback on one channel, and a negative amount on the other channel
  • Use the Invert button only on one channel

Features

  • 32 Phasing Stages
  • 6 LFO Waveforms
  • Rate can be synced to the host tempo
  • Preset system with randomizer
  • Formats: VST, AU, and AAX (64-bit only)

Whirl v2

Phaser by Sinevibes

Images

Description

Whirl is a barber-pole phaser. It is based on a Bode frequency shifter model with a feedback line, an algorithm that creates unique spectrum peaks and notches that move upwards or downwards in a seemingly endless fashion – with one spectrum sweep smoothly morphing into the next one, like an audible illusion. Whirl features up to three fully synchronized barber-pole phaser stages: this allows you to control how gentle or dramatic the effect is. At its most extreme settings, Whirl is capable of deeply resonant filtering. It almost individually suppresses and accentuates different frequency harmonics. By design, the spectrum sweep frequency is bipolar - and can go from downwards to upwards motion and back completely seamlessly.

As always with a Sinevibes product, Whirl has a carefully crafted, clean and intuitive user interface. It features colour-coded graphics for consistency with other plugins in their collection and well-calibrated contrast for optimal visibility in most lighting conditions. The interface supports retina resolution and also uses GPU-accelerated rendering, never impairing audio processing.

Features

  • Sound engine

  • Barber-pole phaser based on Bode frequency shifter, with up to three sequential stages and progressive feedback
  • Variable stereo phase offset
  • Lag filters on all continuous parameters for smooth, click-free adjustment
  • Supports mono › mono, mono › stereo, and stereo › stereo channel configurations
  • Graphic interface

  • Colour-coded graphic elements
  • Consistent name, mapping, value, and unit implemented for all parameters in both graphic user interface and host control/automation
  • Built-in preset management functions
  • Supports window size scaling up to 200%

MAutoAlign

Phaser by MeldaProduction

Images

Description

Phase cancellation occurs whenever you record anything with more than one microphone. Some ignore it and keep the tracks dull, some manually search for delays, and others let MAutoAlign do the job for them automatically and move on to the next activity.

Extremely easy to use

MAutoAlign finds the ideal delays and polarity inversions automatically. Just put an instance on each track that you want to fix and click a button. Absolutely no complicated routing or side-chaining is needed. MAutoAlign will find all other instances of itself automatically.

Completely transparent processing

By default, the plugin only delays each track and possibly inverts the polarity of some of them. But no filtering is done, nothing that would alter the signal in any way. You can expect pristine audio quality with improved attack and minimum phasing problems.

Spectral phase compensation

Since version 11.02 MAutoAlign performs something previously unimaginable - it actually fixes the phase for each frequency in all tracks, if you ask it to. During the analysis, it now not only estimates the ideal delays and polarity but also the ideal phase rotation to minimize cancellations. This means it can compensate for phase differences caused by the 3D nature of the instruments being recorded, by the microphones and other recording equipment, and even processing you perform before MAutoAlign. So now you can actually equalize the tracks without worrying about phase cancellations!

MeldaProduction goodies

As always you'll find the standard MeldaProduction features: M/S, surround support as well as other channel modes, and our easy to use integrated help system.

Features

  • Unique multitrack design - the plugin does not need any advanced techniques with sidechains etc. All you need is to do is to place one instance on each track. These will automatically talk to each other and perform the analysis without the need for your interaction.
  • Completely transparent processing - the plugin only delays each track and potentially inverts phase of some of them. But performs no filtering or any other advanced processing which alters the signal.
  • Advanced metering system - provided meters display frequency cancellations useful to judge how much of the signal is lost when mixing the tracks together.
  • Up to 8 channels surround processing - our plugins can handle not only mono and stereo signals, but also up to 8 channels of surround audio, making them ideal for audio production for movies, games etc.
  • Extremely advanced and easy-to-use user interface - our products are always designed to enhance the workflow. You can easily change all values, fine-tune each control in multiple ways. Fazortan 2

Phaser by D16 Group

Images

Description

Have you ever wanted to replicate that unique, magical breeze floating through most of Jean Michael Jarre's music?

Fazortan 2 is the new incarnation of Controllable Space Phaser which is part of D16's SilverLine Collection. Total control over the Phase shifter provides you with adjustability and allows you to obtain the desired contour with high precision. Have you ever wondered where does that unique magical breeze so audible in most of Jean Michael Jarre's tunes come from? Surprisingly the backbone here isn't the synth itself but the effect unit coupled with the synthesizer, saying more precisely - analogue phaser of which Fazortan 2 seems to be a fine equivalent. Thanks to the analogue modelling technique D16 were able to implement all-pass filters comprising characteristics identical to its analogue counterpart based on Operational Transconductance Amplifiers. Now in version 2 D16 are even closer to the sound character the original hardware unit brings.

You can think about Fazortan 2 as the exact copy of a retro phaser taken out from the '70s and redone to become a virtual unit. But being the same sounding unit that provides primal functionality and sound of the original is where similarities end and where limitless scope of plugin comes to play. Bearing in mind only one Rate knob and a Color switch on the front panel of the real phaser device, Fazortan 2 from the first look at its GUI, presents itself as a completely new device that effectively expands the capabilities of its origin.

Structure

Full control over two LFOs (waveform, rate and depth) controlling the unit and unlike the hardware unit Fazortan 2 LFO works in various waveform modes: sinus, triangle, hyper-triangle and random (i.e. only triangle is available in original).

By using both LFOs simultaneously you're now able to obtain the result that owners of the hardware box could only dream about. Endless contour diversity stretches results from monotonous sluggish swing to become a gurgling scrumble, just by a slight repositioning of the rate knob. Additionally, it is now possible to add consecutive all-pass stages as well as regulate the feedback effect. The amount of stages translates to how many humps and pits residues are in the converted sound spectrum while the feedback parameter value implies the severity of these irregularities. The feedback knob gives you sounds from soft to rapid and drilling. To visually display how it works, consider white noise as an input signal. Moving the feedback knob will start to morph incoming "sea waves" reminiscent noise into "windy" whizz. Additionally, each LFO can be modified by altering its respective phase giving, as a result, an improved panning of the incoming signal.

Who would like to use it?

The best way to judge Fazortan 2 is to listen to it. D16 made every effort to make sure Fazortan will fulfil all expectations one could have before buying an analogue phaser unit. Especially guitarists and retro keyboard players may appreciate the possibility to adjust it so it can emulate the rotary speaker, what along with its rich and lush sound, completes satisfactorily every audio chain.

Of course, given much more manoeuvrability it is a fine fx unit to be adapted regardless of genre.

Features

  • True emulation of a classic analogue all-pass phase shifter.
  • 2 full controllable LFOs
  • LFO synchronization with host application
  • Unique sound different from the other digital phasers
  • 64bit internal processing
  • No harmonic distortions at output

PhaseMistress

Phaser by Soundtoys

Images

Description

Analog Phase Shifter

Rich phase sweeps, deep analog vibe, and tempo-locked modulation.

From funk-laced guitars to swooshing disco drums to jazz-fusion keys and bombastic rock vocals, phase shifting is a wildly diverse effect that’s at the heart of countless records from the 60s to today. PhaseMistress captures the sounds of legendary phasers and packs them into one plug-in that takes this creative effect to the next level.

At Soundtoys, we have a bit of a phaser hoarding problem. We have them stacked in our test room, stock room and literally lining the halls. When designing PhaseMistress, we carefully studied some of the best like the Bi-Phase, Boss Super Phaser, Phase 90, Moogerfooger 12 stage, Small Stone, Trine and many more. We needed to be sure PhaseMistress nailed that rich, silky analog sound. Then we went farther and added deep tweakability and a range of inspiring rhythmic tools. We think you’re going to love what we came up with.

Deeply Customizable

While PhaseMistress comes packed with useful presets and an easy to use hardware-inspired interface, we also give you deep control over the phasing “circuit” that gives this effect its distinctive sound. You can choose from 69 different styles of presets that alter the phaser’s internal structure. Set the number of stages from subtle 2-stage phasing up to a wild 24 stages. You can also fine-tune the resonance, colour and intensity of the effect to craft your own unique phase shifting styles.

Versatile and Creative

Many phasers create their whooshing sound with the help of a humble low-frequency oscillator (LFO). That’s great when you want a simple back and forth sweep. But what if you want something a bit more out there? In PhaseMistress you can choose from a multitude of creative LFO shapes that go beyond what you’ll find in hardware–and you can even draw your own curves in the Tweak panel. For cool robotic effects, try the random mode and step mode for phase shifts that jump rather than sweep. Rhythm mode lets you program your own rhythmic patterns, or choose from some great pre-made ones, too. And in Envelope mode, PhaseMistress responds to the dynamics of the incoming audio making it an awesome rhythm-triggered effect for funky drums, slap bass or rhythm guitar sounds.

It’s on guitar, bass, drums, vocals (Queen, ELO, Pink Floyd anybody?), even whole mixes. We’ve heard crushed envelope phased drums and gritty phased out radio guitar. Turns out it’s more powerful than even we thought. This is one phase you won’t grow out of.

Features

  • Recreate the silky, funky sounds of a huge range of hardware phasers
  • Get authentic analog sounds with 69 different built-in phasing styles
  • Tweak circuit-level options to design your own phasing styles
  • Choose from 6 different operation modes: LFO, Rhythm, Step, Random and more
  • Create envelope follower and trigger effects that respond to the music
  • Draw your own LFO waveshapes and unique rhythmic patterns

RSPhaseShifter

Phaser by MAAT

Images

Description

Great Sounding Alignment, Made Easy

The only official digital implementation of Roger Schult/German Audio Lab’s Phase Shifter W2324 pure analogue hardware.

Analogue Soul, Digital Heart

Creating a very high fidelity, phase shifted version of the input, RSPhaseShifter provides a fast, convenient and musical means of aligning individual mix elements for the best subjective result. RSPhaseShifter is great for any situation where you need to creatively control tonality, power spectrum and harmonic content through phase manipulation. Post–production, stem mastering, outboard gear compensation, film re-recording, “live” production, sound reinforcement, along with content creation for gaming and VR all benefit from having RSPhaseShifter on hand.

Old Skool Values

RSPhaseShifter was created in conjunction with Roger Schult/German Audio Lab and is a painstaking, 64-bit digital realization of Schult’s trusted Phase Shifter W2324 analogue hardware. When multiple sources compete rather than complement, RSPhaseShifter should be your choice for a fast, intuitive, easy to use and effective remedy.

Better By Design

As with all Roger Schult by MAAT products, the RSPhaseShifter is handcrafted and precision engineered in California by way of Germany. This is an explicit digital recreation of the analogue W2324 topology, not a modelling or simulation algorithm. We copied the functionality of the original hardware without analogue’s shortcomings. This tool´s value is more about what it does technically, so we left out stuff like fake transformer colour, hum or Johnson Noise. There are lots of colourful plugins, we simply provide convenient access to the useful functionality along with a classic API Lunchbox look.

Features

  • The original W2324 analogue degree scale is highly non–linear, due to issues with analogue circuitry. The original also has ten tick marks, from 10 to 125°. Freed from the limitations of an analog implementation, we have moved to a true, linear scale and extended the range slightly, something only possible in the digital domain. RSPhaseShifter’s eleven tick marks, in 15° steps, start at 15 and go to 180°; 15; 30; 45; 60; 75; 90; 105; 120; 135; 150; 180°.

  • Real-time adjustment of phase angle, resonant frequency, gain
  • MIRROR and FLIP modes speed stereo setting selection
  • δ (DELTA) mode for modifying stereo spread in an MS workflow
  • All standard formats: AU, VST & AAX Mac/Win
  • Optimized internal 64-bit processing for highest fidelity
  • Operates at all standard sample rates, from 44.1 to 384 kHz
  • Compatible with standard OSs; macOS, Windows
  • Low fatigue visual design
  • Compact layout
  • Filter gain range of -5 to + 5 dB via 41 position stepped control
  • Continuously adjustable phase angle between 15° and 180°
  • 3 position switch to extend phase angle from 180° to 360°
  • Bypass position for quick and easy comparison with the uncorrected signal
  • Stepped or continuous rotary control to select frequency range from 16 to 4 kHz
  • This three position switch is used to select the range of the phase shifter.

  • Top Position: +180° (180 - 360°)
  • Centre Position: Bypass
  • Bottom Position: 0 - 180°
  • The centre Phase Position, the “0” setting or Bypass mode, provides a means to compare the effect of the selected phase shift with the unprocessed, original phase of the source material.

  • The phase shift is dependent on the selected frequency setting. The Frequency control is either stepped for repeatability or continuous; your choice. Resonant frequency selection is managed by a 13 step ELMA–style control with the following frequencies:

  • 16 Hz - 400 Hz
  • 25 Hz - 630 Hz
  • 40 Hz - 1000 Hz
  • 63 Hz - 1600 Hz
  • 100 Hz - 2500 Hz
  • 160 Hz - 4 kHz
  • Additional controls include a ±5 dB of gain refinement plus MIRROR, FLIP and δ (DELTA) modes for use during stereo operation.

  • What’s Your Headache?

  • For most applications, it makes sense to use RSPhaseShifter on just one channel, rather than on both stereo channels. A common example would be when a stereo pair of ambiance mics suffer from slightly different distances to a localized source. Additional uses include:

  • 1: You have a DI’d bass track which sounds dry and lifeless. You drop that track into a project so you can re-amp it, and dial up a great re-amped sound. When you try to blend the DI track with the re-amped track, it sounds…awful! Just grab RSPhaseShifter, insert it into the DI’d track, and start off with a low-frequency setting. Sweep the phase angle control and fine-tune the frequency and…Bang! Suddenly, it sounds awesome.

  • 2: Another scenario would be you have a set of two distorted guitar tracks recorded with different guitars or amps but playing the same riff. They sound nasty because both are modeling–based guitar amp simulations. Just insert the stereo version of the RSPhaseShifter into one of those pairs of tracks and play around in Mirror mode, so that both sides of your processing track are ganged. Within seconds, you will find a sweet spot where both guitars blend perfectly because by sweeping through the phase angle control, you’re applying very complex comb filters which you could not create with other EQ.

  • 3: A common situation is you have closely spaced, multi–mic’ed sources, like a snare with top and bottom mics, some instrument with two mics, or an acoustic guitar with a mic and a piezo pickup. Just play around with the RSPhaseShifter on one of the feeds, preferably the one which is closest to the source, such as a piezo feed, and find the sweet spot by feel.

  • 4: Yet another would be you’ve made a great acoustic stereo recording and have used supporting microphones, such as room, spot or far hall placements. To meld these into your main stereo pair, take your mains as the phase reference, and align one supporting mic after the other with the mains. This is easiest if your supporting sources are panned centre and approximately the same level during phase alignment. Afterwards, you can set gain and panning back to taste.

  • 5: Acoustical issues are often an annoyance at low frequencies…

  • Reduce the influence of standing waves, or room modes, for a loudspeaker setup in conjunction with one or more subwoofers.
  • Reduce the acoustical energy caused by low-frequency cancellation in live sound applications.
  • Acoustically optimize the sound field in studio and live sound environments.

Fix Phaser

Phaser by Softube

Images

Description

No single phaser could please Paul Wolff. He wanted them all in one. All the stages, the sweeps, the tones. From the mind of Paul Wolff, here is the Fix Phaser.

Have you ever worried that your guitar just doesn't sound enough like a spaceship? We know we have. Coming from the ever-fertile mind of audio legend Paul Wolff, Fix Phaser perfectly covers this concern and many others too. Create subtle movement and texture in a string section or synth pad, wash a drum kit in stratospheric swirling attitude, create a throbbing, oscillating vibrato in a vocal, or simply swoosh and whoosh things to your heart's content.

Turn mono into stereo

The wide mode can create natural, convincing stereo soundscape from a mono track. Especially useful on guitars, vocals, drums and other instruments that sound static and lifeless.

What it does

With a clean and easy-to-navigate modern interface, the Fix Phaser loses none of that quintessential 70s/80s sound and style and can transform a flat, dull track into a vibrant living beast in no time, and in a number of different ways. Sweep your phase centre at a rate anywhere between 0.01 and 6Hz, or let the incoming signal bump and pump the effect with the in-built envelope follower. Phase offset and regen settings allow further customisation of the sound, and three different stereo settings give the user control over the spread of the effect, from both mono and stereo sources.

Fix Phaser builds on the mind-warping technical concepts already presented in the Fix Flanger and Doubler, completing the "Fix" modulation series. Never again will you reach into the toolbox and find an empty space where your spaceship should be.

In short

  • Lush vintage phasing sound in a modern plugin package
  • Wide and versatile feature set
  • Mix knob allows blending of wet and dry signals to taste
  • Create stereo soundscapes out of mono sources
  • Generate subtle movement in flat or dull-sounding instruments
  • Out-of-this-world whooshing effects

  • 8 GB RAM or more is recommended, as well as at least 8 GB hard disk space for installation (individual plug-ins take less space, while sample libraries may require additional disk space).
  • A Softube account is required to register and install the software.
  • An iLok account is required for authorisation of the software.
  • Internet access for downloading installer and managing licenses.
  • iLok generation 2 and up, if you intend to use a physical iLok dongle for authorizing your plug-ins (note that an iLok dongle is not a requirement).
  • In theory, any 64-bit VST, VST3, AU, or AAX (11.0.2 or higher) compatible host application should work.
  • The most recent maintenance release of the DAW application is recommended.

However, due to plug-in host differences between DAWs - and Softube's own rigorous testing standards - Softube only officially test their plug-ins and instruments in the most recent versions of Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase, Live, Studio One, Digital Performer, Reaper and Sonar. Softube plugins are not tested in the non-listed systems, but they most likely work as long as the system requirements are met.

Important note: make sure that you always use the latest iLok License Manager. It is not included in the Softube installer but can be downloaded from www.ilok.com

Phaser BI-TRON

Phaser by Arturia

Description

Space Age Double Phaser

An all-encompassing phaser that oozes retro sci-fi charm. Modeled on one of the most coveted guitar pedals in history, Phaser BI-TRON features 2 sweep generators, dual 12-stage phaser circuits, mind-bending routing options and a sound that’s set to stun. Phaser BI-TRON comes from a simple concept, multiplied, expanded, and pushed to the outer limits.

More than Just a Phase

A definitive sound that was ahead of its time, yet remains hypnotic and otherworldly to this day. Phaser BI-TRON encapsulates the transcendent quality of an undisputed trailblazer of the modulation world. Soft 2-pole flutters, wild asynchronous movement, resonant swirls suspended in orbit - there’s nothing quite like it.

2 Sweep Generators

It all starts with 2 Independent LFOs, featuring switchable waveforms and rates that can be tempo synced. Tweak both in tandem for unpredictable interplay, resulting in all manner of animated sounds.

Dual 12-Stage Phasor Circuits

As well as 2 LFOs, you get 2 ‘Phasor’ circuits to play with, with independent depth, feedback and modulation source controls.

Analogue Character

Arturia analysed the much-loved tonal nuances of the original pedal, taking extra care to emulate them in great detail for a perfectly authentic response.

Manual Pedal Control

The expression pedal feature lets you manipulate both LFO rates and both Phasor circuits, with the additional option of envelope control.

Choose Your Route

Phaser BI-TRON can be run in mono or stereo, series or parallel. This results in an unprecedented stereo modulation palette, each mode offering a distinct sonic character.

Presets

A curated selection of 37 presets, giving you instant access to the double-barrelled energy of Phaser BI-TRON.

Rebuilding a Legend

The humble phaser was one of the first widely-available guitar effects on the market. Achieved by the relatively simple means of modulating all-pass filters on an input signal, it’s a sound that’s as recognisable as it is divisive. No modulation collection is complete without a phaser - and as the world’s first dual phaser, the Mu-Tron Bi-Phase stood out from the crowd. Popularised by everyone from Smashing Pumpkins to Prince, Kraftwerk to Chromeo, it’s evident that the pull of stereo functionality, interweaving modulation, and analogue charm was impossible to resist.

Arturia set about studying, remaking, and enhancing this prized handmade effect. Using Arturia's proprietary TAE® technology (True Analogue Emulation), Arturia wanted to replicate every subtle detail, every sonic trait - even the control panel and expression pedal functionality. Phaser BI-TRON is every bit an analogue dream, primed for your virtual studio.

The Power of Duality

The key to Phaser BI-TRON’s colorful sound is the fact that everything is doubled.

Independent sweep generators (LFOs) offer 3 waveforms each, tempo sync, and the option of pedal control. These can be used to modulate both (or either) of the 2 Phasor circuits, each with their own LFO depth, feedback and pedal controls. The pedal can even be switched from manual control to an envelope follower, for a responsive sidechain effect.

Analogue Enhanced

The magic of the dual LFO & dual Phasor setup really comes into its own with the elaborate routing options. Rather than simply behaving like 2 phaser pedals stuck together, Phaser BI-TRON’s emulated circuits can be rerouted in mono or stereo, series or parallel - unlocking the nuances of analogue pedal behavior and giving you total control over the spatial character of the effect.

Analogue effects are sought-after not just for their specific purposes; there’s charm in the warm dynamic response of their components. No emulation of an analogue effect would be truly complete without it. Phaser BI-TRON has been tirelessly modeled to preserve the subtle nuances of vintage circuitry - authentic to its core.

Up to Speed

A timeless guitar effect, reimagined to cater to the modern producer, the adventurous musician, the contemporary audiophile. Phaser BI-TRON doesn’t just capture the allure of the old-school - it ventures beyond to bring you something entirely new and wholly inspiring. Beneath the surface, you’ll find additional controls for further manipulation.

  • 12 Poles: Arturia doubled the poles, or stages, of Phaser BI-TRON’s hardware predecessor. Instead of 6 poles, you can enjoy up to 12 for deeper, more dramatic phase sweeps.
  • Individual Phasor Bypass: Toggle both Phasor circuits on and off individually, great for going from subtle to extreme at the flick of a switch for real-time dynamics.
  • Dual Depth Controls: Each Phasor circuit has 2 depth controls - one relating to each sweep generator. This allows for interesting interweaving sweeps.
  • Phasor Dry/Wet Controls: The phaser effect is often upfront, at the risk of sounding intrusive - take control of how Phaser BI-TRON sits in your mix.
  • Input Hi-Pass Filter: Simultaneously soften the constructive interference on low frequencies and enhance the harmonic feedback with a 12dB Hi-pass filter.

Animate your DAW with Colourful Modulation

Whether you're going for psychedelic sound design, warm analogue response, or straight-up stereo richness, this modulation FX will fit seamlessly into any setup or mix. These plugins are designed to integrate with all major DAWs, on both Windows and macOS.

Instant Phaser Mk II

Phaser by Eventide

Images

Description

Own the First Studio Phaser

Released in 1971, the Eventide Instant Phaser began the studio effects revolution by successfully simulating tape flanging, an effect that’s been at the core of legendary albums for the last five decades.

Reminisce back to a phaser with analog personality, smooth modulations, and inherent musicality. Outfitted with a complete host of control options, the Instant Phaser Mk II is out of the rack and into your plugin arsenal. This new emulation of the classic effect accomplishes the same legendary sound notably used on hits like Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir” and “Presence”. The capabilities have been expanded, and now you can even take your phaser on an excursion from the 70s far into the future with the delightfully characteristic “Age” knob.

New Age, Old Age, and Everything in Between

As hardware phase-shift networks get older, they don’t line up as well as they used to, revealing their analog character. The resulting effect is less exact, for tracks where imprecise nature is desired. While component drift and unintentional effects are usually omitted in hardware emulation, we’ve decided to put the ball in your court. For a phasing sound that’s straight out of the factory, set Age to 0%. To capture the sound of the same phaser 47 years later (present-day), set Age to 25%. The remaining 75% allows you to discover the Instant Phaser among the wreckage of a dilapidated studio hundreds of years from now and check it out on your new single.

Change the Feel, Switch the Mode

The Instant Phaser Mk II offers three different sonic characteristics that change the amount of phase-shift sections, simply labeled “Shallow”, “Deep”, and “Wide”. When “Wide” is selected, the Instant Phaser Mk II gives you a different amount of phase-shifting on both right and left channels, resulting in a slightly different effect in each ear. You can use this to turn flat mono guitars into huge stereo leads, or make your single-channel synthesizer fill out the sides of your mix.

Different Ways to Phase

The Instant Phaser allows four distinct methods to control the phasing:

  • Manual allows precise automation of the phasing.
  • Oscillator modulates the phasing at a constant rate that you decide.
  • Envelope changes the phase whenever your signal passes the specified threshold. The plugin accepts a side chain input for this control method.
  • Remote maps the phasing control to a mod wheel for tactile manipulation.

Features

  • Add Age for component drift and electrical leakage in your phaser
  • Offers three different flavors of phasing with the Mode switch: Shallow, Deep, and Wide
  • Utilize one of four distinct methods to control the phasing
  • Depth allows you to combine the phased signal with the dry signal
  • Added Side Chain function allows you to trigger the Envelope Follower from a separate source in the mix for inter-track mingling
  • Exercise total control of the Oscillator with Sync and Retrig controls
  • Use Feedback control for a more pronounced sound
  • Includes standard gain input and output
