Description

Oxford DeNoiser

Surgical, real-time noise removal plugin

The DeNoiser Plug-In with its integrated de-hisser delivers surgical broadband noise reduction in real-time.

The process is based on a continual analysis of the input signal in order to build a noise profile. Alternatively, use Freeze Mode to sample a section of audio containing just target noise. Simply define the threshold below which noise is removed and use the Reduction slider to taste.

Sonnox understand the delicate balance between removing noise and retaining the character of your original recording and have added a warmth control to return some richness and added a DIFF function to audition only the removed noise.

Features

  • Separate DeHiss, Detect & Remove Sections for intuitive use
  • High-resolution display of input signal & its noise profile
  • Frequency Bias Curve to fine-tune noise threshold & reduction
  • Mid-Side mode to de-noise only side content
  • Warmth control for sweetening after noise removal
  • Make-up gain for true A/B comparisons

Oxford DeClicker

Audio Restoration by Sonnox

Images

Description

Oxford DeClicker

Accurately and transparently remove pops, clicks and crackle

The Oxford DeClicker features three discrete sections for removing pops, clicks and crackle from your sound. Each has a threshold and sensitivity control to define the number of events that are detected and removed. The unique Events Graph shows the level and duration of each pop, click and crackle as it's detected in three separate colour-coded groups.

Sometimes there will be events detected that represent audio we want to keep rather than remove. So we built the Exclude Box to further refine the number of repaired events, and also Dialogue Mode for independent control over speech in programme.

Features

  • Three Dedicated Sections: DePop, DeClick and DeCrackle
  • Graphic Feedback of the Energy/Duration of Detected Events
  • Excitation Displays to Help Accurately Set Thresholds
  • Exclude Box to Select Events that Shouldn’t be Repaired
  • Dialogue Mode: Independent Settings when Speech is Detected

Three Audition Modes:

  1. Listen only to removed events
  2. Full processed signal
  3. Dialogue Mode side-chain

Brusfri

Audio Restoration by Klevgrand

Images

Description

Noise Reducer

An advanced audio noise reducer with a simple and straightforward interface

Brusfri is a highly advanced audio noise reducer, packed into a simple and straightforward interface. It is very well suited for cleaning up noisy audio recordings while retaining sound quality.

Unlike many other noise reducers on the market, Brusfri doesn’t mess with audio phasing to suppress noise (a technique that often comes with audible side effects). Instead, multiple fine-tuned gates are used to silence unwanted noise.

Anatomy

1. Attack / Threshold / Release - These parameters control all the internal expanders relatively.

2. Learn Button - Brusfri needs some noise to be analysed. Most of the time, this is the only thing that's needed. Push and hold to feed audio data and create a noise profile.

3. Tonality - Most of the time, Brusfri does a good job in creating a noise profile that works as expected, but in some cases (especially when there's heavy noise involved) one needs to tweak a bit.

What is that noise?!

Can we shut down the vent system for the whole building, please?

You know the feeling when you just have recorded the best take ever for your new creation and it’s time to edit when you realise there’s a constant hiss in the background interfering with the performance. It happens to us all, whether you’re working with music, film, podcasts or radio, unwanted noise is a problem that pops up now and then. With the improvement of sound quality over the years, what was once hidden behind tape hiss can now be audible and bothersome and we need noise reduction to tackle it.

Features

  • Several frequency-trimmed expanders build an intelligent noise suppressor
  • No phase-altering, which leaves the desired sound untouched (no squishy artifacts as in many other noise reducers)
  • Intuitive and unique user interface

Why RX9?

Rebalance or Isolate the Musical Elements of a Mix

Are the vocals too quiet or the drums too loud? Can’t find the original stems to your song? With Music Rebalance, no mix is “final.” Using an algorithm trained with machine learning, Music Rebalance can intelligently identify vocals, bass, percussion, and other instruments and allows you to individually enhance or isolate elements of an audio track, making remastering without multitracks possible. Isolate or remove vocals from your song, or for more problematic mixes, separate each musical element into separate stems for individual processing.

Refine Your Guitar Recordings for Clean, Authentic Performances

As one of the most pervasive instruments in modern music, a clean, articulate guitar track is pivotal to a high-quality music production. RX 9 Standard includes Guitar De-noise, a quick and easy way to manage guitar-produced sounds that can interfere with your mix when affected with limiting or compression. Reduce the prominence of electrical amplifier noise and hum, fret squeaks and pick attacks to clarify your guitar recordings—without removing the all-important human performance element.

Finalize Your Audio Levels for Delivery

Loudness is more important than ever in the age of streaming media and remote podcasting. That's why RX 9 includes an all-new Loudness Control module. With preset targets for virtually every current broadcast loudness standard, a Loudness Gate that prevents periods of silence from skewing your loudness readings, and numeric and histogram displays for integrated, short-term, and momentary loudness (and more), your music, film, television, and podcast audio is sure to be clear, intelligible, and appropriately loud.

Features

  • NEW - Dynamic De-hum [Standard + Advanced Only]

  • Use the new Dynamic mode in RX 9’s De-Hum to instantly remove any amount of hum, wireless ring, or interference, without artifacts or affecting the audio quality. In one pass, eliminate radio and transmitter interference, camera and generator hum, and more.

  • Guitar De-noise [Standard + Advanced Only].

  • Guitar De-noise allows you to refine your guitar recordings for maximum clarity in seconds. Manage sounds that can unintentionally be emphasized by the effect of compression or limiting, like electrical amp noise and interference, distracting fret or string squeaks, and harsh pick attacks. With intuitive sliders for sensitivity and gain reduction, polishing guitar performances for intelligibility and authenticity has never been easier.

  • Music Rebalance [Standard + Advanced Only]

  • Music Rebalance is a powerful tool that intelligently identifies vocals, bass, percussion, and other instruments in a mix and allows for independent gain adjustment of each element.

  • Drums too loud? Vocals not loud enough? Are other instruments too present or is percussion not punchy enough? With Music Rebalance, you can easily reanimate a mix, create instrumental versions of songs by removing the vocal elements, or isolate the vocal to prepare a remix without having access to individual tracks or stems. Music Rebalance is also available as an AudioSuite plug-in.

  • Along with the mixing capabilities of Music Rebalance, RX introduces automatic stem separation to generate independent files for further refinement—so no mix is ever really “final” until you say

  • Loudness Control [Standard + Advanced Only]

  • Prepare your recordings for final delivery with the detailed level readings and loudness management power with the improved Loudness Control module. Instantly load preset loudness standard targets and conform your production audio to broadcast requirements in seconds, and monitor your levels using the built-in numeric and histogram readouts for integrated, short-term, and momentary loudness. Plus, resize the module to fit your display perfectly and suit your own unique workflow.

  • Batch Processor [Standard + Advanced Only]

  • Process several audio files in one pass with the newly overhauled Batch Processor. View pertinent metadata in your audio files prior to processing, then apply a full series of processors with Module Chain, now accessible from within the Batch Processor interface. At the end of it all, export your files in multiple file formats and bit depths for optimal efficiency and organization—perfect for refining hundreds of samples for custom-made sample libraries.

  • 32 Audio Tab Limit

  • Time is precious when editing audio in post. To help you tackle more work faster, RX 9 allows you to view and edit up to 32 files within RX Audio Editor, so you can cover more ground in less time with greater efficiency and in-app real estate.

  • Horizontal Scrolling

  • You asked, and iZotope listened: horizontal scrolling is now built into the intuitive Spectrogram Display. Use the scroll gesture on your trackpad or mouse with your cursor to scroll through your audio across the X-axis or lightning fast edits.

  • Repair Assistant

  • Representing the latest advances in iZotope's assistive audio technology, Repair Assistant is a game-changing intelligent repair tool that can detect noise, clipping, clicks, and more. Solve common audio issues faster than ever, simply by selecting the type of material (music, dialogue, other) and letting RX 9 Standard analyze the audio. Repair Assistant then offers different processing suggestions to help give you the best result, as well as three different intensities (light, medium, or aggressive) for each. Review and audition different suggestions, hit render, and let Repair Assistant do the rest for you!

  • Quickly repair these common issues in just 3 clicks:

  • Noisy recordings
  • Mouth clicks and pops
  • Clipped or crackling audio
  • Distracting, low-end hum
  • Digital audio damage
  • ...and more!
  • De-hum [Standard + Advanced Only]

  • Dynamic mode in De-Hum instantly removes any amount of hum, wireless ring, or interference, without artifacts or affecting the audio quality. In one pass, eliminate radio and transmitter interference, camera and generator hum, and more. In Static mode, you can target hum with a fundamental tone and 16 harmonic bands above it. In Dynamic mode, you can learn and remove any amount of hum with up to 1024 dynamically variable notch filters.

  • Variable Time [Standard + Advanced Only]

  • Variable Time lets you adjust the time stretch amount of an audio selection without altering its pitch. For example, you can modify the tempo of a performance, such as a band or orchestra that is slowing down or speeding up over time. You can also alter time if you need something to be longer or shorter for sync reasons. And since this provides variability over time, you can accelerate or decelerate dialogue, music, and sound effects in a sound design capacity. The module features a zoomed-in display of your selection on the spectrogram, giving you a better indication of the audio you are adjusting.

  • Variable Pitch [Standard + Advanced Only]

  • Variable Pitch allows you to adjust the pitch of both musical and non-musical audio selections while preserving their time and length. It can be used to change the pitch on the bend of a guitar string, re-shape the sound of a mono instrument, for creative effects on singers, or for sound design. The module features a zoomed-in display of your selection on the spectrogram, giving you a better indication of the audio you are adjusting.

  • De-bleed [Standard + Advanced Only]

  • The new De-bleed audio plug-in and module in iZotope RX reduces the leakage of one signal into another. De-bleed can help reduce or eliminate bleed from headphones, click tracks, multiple mics with small amounts of cross bleed, and even some drum bleed issues.

  • De-ess [Standard + Advanced Only]

  • The De-ess audio plug-in and module in iZotope RX attenuates or reduces sibilance, the harsh high-frequency sounds that come from S, F, X, SH, and a soft C. RX includes two modes for handling sibilance: Classic and Spectral. Classic Mode detects sibilants and attenuates them with a broadband gain envelope. Spectral Mode is more transparent, intelligent, and frequency-specific than Classic Mode. Spectral Mode only attenuates the high frequencies where sibilance is most active, leaving the lower frequencies untouched.

  • Mouth De-click [Standard + Advanced Only]

  • The De-click plug-in and module in iZotope RX automatically identifies and removes clicks, pops, and digital impulse noises that can ruin a listening experience. Use De-click when polishing audio transfers and other recordings suffering from quality degradation, digital errors, cell phone interference, and more with the low-latency De-click algorithm.

  • Spectral Repair [Standard + Advanced Only]

  • Spectral Repair in iZotope RX is the key to discovering what your waveform won't show you. Use familiar drawing tools to identify and select problem frequencies and unwanted sounds. Salvage unusable material by filling in audio gaps instantly. With a unique visualization and a variety of selection tools at your fingertips, Spectral Repair lets you get closer to your audio and take a hands-on approach to repairing and enhancing it.

  • Once a problem sound has been identified, the Spectral Repair algorithms—available in the module or Instant Process Tool—are able to resynthesize the audio while taking into consideration tonal harmonics, nonlinear pitch changes like vibrato, background noise characteristics, and transient events. With the power of these tools, you can remove or attenuate unwanted, interfering sounds from barking dogs and breath noises to string squeaks, fret noise, and missed/wrong notes. RX includes a multi-resolution mode that more accurately separates unwanted noise and desired audio.

  • Voice De-noise

  • Restore problematic vocal or production recordings in real time with iZotope RX's Voice De-noise audio plug-in and module. Improving on the earlier Dialogue De-noise, the zero-latency Voice De-noise is the most powerful de-noiser focused on dialogue and sung vocal treatment. Voice De-noise has an Adaptive mode that can adjust to a changing noise floor in real time, making it ideal for dialogue stem set-and-forget de-noising.

  • When optimized for music, Voice De-noise excels at attenuating unwanted background noise from air conditioners and street noise from sung vocals in apartment recordings.

  • De-plosive [Standard + Advanced Only]

  • Quickly remove plosives with the De-plosive audio plug-in and module in iZotope RX. Improve the quality of your dialogue by getting rid of plosive pops and mic bumps that can occur during a recording. Intelligent analysis detects the presence of a plosive between the desirable harmonics of a dialogue or vocal signal. It then transparently reduces the plosive far more effectively than simply using an EQ to roll off the low end (which lacks precision and also affects dialogue frequencies).

  • Spectral De-noise [Standard + Advanced Only]

  • The Spectral De-noise plug-in and module in iZotope RX provides natural noise reduction with unparalleled clarity and control. Built with the most troublesome audio imperfections in mind, Spectral De-noise removes unwanted tonal and broadband noise from any type of recording—such as music, old recordings, home movies, production recordings, and more.

  • With transparent noise suppression technology that minimizes artifacts, the Spectral De-noise module is carefully designed to preserve the character of your audio. RX features Adaptive Mode, which analyzes changing noise profiles and fixes audio imperfections automatically. It's the ideal choice for fast, efficient audio repair on the fly.

  • iZotope RX's De-clip audio plug-in and module repairs digital and analog clipping artifacts. Audio clipping occurs when A/D converters are pushed too hard or magnetic tape is over-saturated. De-clip can be extremely useful for reducing distortion in recordings that were made in a single pass, such as live concerts, interviews, and any audio that cannot be re-recorded.

  • Composite View

  • Fix problems picked up by multiple microphones by editing multiple files at once.

RX 9 Advanced includes Guitar De-noise, a quick and easy way to manage guitar-produced sounds that can interfere with your mix when affected with limiting or compression.

Features

  • NEW- Spectral Recovery [Advanced only]

  • With the increasing prevalence of remote meetings, video calls, and podcast interviews, Spectral Recovery helps restore frequencies above 4k that are removed when the audio is compressed for real-time streaming. Turn once-grainy, inarticulate recordings into crisp, clear conversations.

  • In RX’s spectrogram, it’s easy to see the re-synthesized frequency content that Spectral Recovery was able to restore. The spectrogram itself is resizable, allowing you to click and drag the module for more precise edits.

  • NEW - Wow & Flutter [Advanced only]

  • Audio printed in physical formats—record albums, cassette tapes, film reels, etc.—often degrades as it ages over time. This can result in pitch fluctuations that can hamstring the listening experience. Wow & Flutter is designed to correct these pitch modulations, whether they’re long and drawn-out as in a warped record, or rapid fluctuations like you’d find on aged tape.

  • NEW - Enhanced separation with Dialogue Isolate [Advanced Only]

  • Dialogue Isolate is even more powerful in RX. The module features improved Ambience Preservation, leaving a more natural sounding dialogue—even when noise reduction is pushed to drastic levels—to make sure your audience hears every word of your dialogue.

  • It is designed to separate spoken dialogue from non-stationary background noise such as crowds, traffic, footsteps, weather, or other noise with highly variable characteristics. It can be particularly effective at increasing the level of dialogue in challenging low signal-to-noise ratio conditions.

  • NEW - Complex Ambience Match [Advanced]

  • Ambience Match lets you match the noise floor of one recording to another recording. Fill in consistent ambience beds under constructed sentences and ADR lines right from within Pro Tools AudioSuite. No more spending hours of time manually looping sections of ambience under a scene with ADR and broken up sentences.

  • Seamlessly connect dialogue and ADR cuts with real background movement and textures with Complex mode, allowing you to quickly match ambiences never before possible: ocean, wind, traffic, crowds, and more! Or, use static mode to match stationary ambiences, like a quiet room with a soft hum.

DeVerberate 3

Audio Restoration by Acon Digital

Images

Description

The new DeVerberate 3 — now based on Deep Learning

DeVerberate is a reverb reduction plug-in that can attenuate or boost the reverberation that is already present in recorded material. The new version includes an entirely new algorithm based on deep learning for fully automatic reverb reduction of recorded dialogue. By training a neural network on thousands of high-quality voice recordings and a wide variety of acoustical surroundings, the artificial intelligence can automatically separate dialogue from reverb.

The reverb reduction algorithm from version 2 is included for music and other audio sources. Both algorithms split the incoming audio into an estimation of the direct sound and the reverberated sound which can then be recombined freely. Additionally, a unique Early Reflections Filter that works in conjunction with the reverb suppression algorithms is included. The Early Reflections Filter uses sophisticated statistical methods to estimate the so-called impulse response of the early reflections, which is then used to cancel out the effect of the early reflections.

Features

  • Fully automatic dialogue reverb reduction based on deep learning
  • Manual mode for music and other signal types with adjustments of the original reverberation’s level and decay times
  • Separate adjustments of the direct sound and the reverberation levels
  • Early reflections filter
  • Frequency spectrum representation of the of the following signals:Input signal, Output signal, and Estimated reverberation
  • Frequency emphasis filter for the the reduction level
  • High and low shelving filters with variable slopes (-3 to -96 dB / octave)
  • High and low peak filters with adjustable bandwidth (0.1 to 3.0 octaves)
  • Graphical representation of frequency response
  • Editing of filter settings through handles in the frequency response curve
  • EUCON and full Pro Tools HW controller support

Extract:Dialogue

Audio Restoration by Acon Digital

Images

Description

Dialogue Noise Reduction

Extract:Dialogue is a plug-in that separates dialogue from common types of background noise such as wind, rustle, traffic, hum, clicks and pops. The algorithm works in real-time and is based on deep learning. It has been trained on thousands of high-quality voice recordings and an equally extensive set of common noise sources. The extensive training enables artificial intelligence to automatically distinguish dialogue from noise without user interaction. This makes Extract:Dialogue extremely easy to use – just add it to your dialogue bus and let it do its magic.

Even though the noise reduction is fully automatic, the plug-in interface does offer simple controls to adjust the sensitivity of the noise detection and the maximum noise attenuation. The sensitivity can even be adjusted independently in up to three frequency bands. The maximum attenuation control is very handy when you only want to reduce the noise without removing it completely. All the parameters are fully automatable as you would expect.

Features

  • Fully automatic noise reduction based on deep learning.
  • Global sensitivity control.

Restoration Suite 2

Audio Restoration by Acon Digital

Images

Description

A Giant Leap in Audio Quality

Restoration Suite 2 is a suite of four cutting edge plug-in for audio restoration and noise reduction.

New in Version 2

All four plug-ins have received major improvements both in the processing algorithms and the user interface compared to version 1. DeNoise 2 introduces the novel dynamic noise profiles that help reducing noise that varies randomly over time, such as wind noise or rustle from lavalier microphones. Where the earlier versions merely captured a static noise print with time-constant noise levels, the dynamic noise profiles capture statistics from the noise to be reduced. The noise suppression algorithm then estimates the most suitable noise threshold curve for the noisy input signal using the measured statistics.

DeNoise 2, DeClick 2 and DeHum 2 now support Mid/Side (M/S) processing, which can reduce unwanted fluctuations in the stereo image. The core algorithm in DeClick 2 received major improvements and now better preserves transients and can be pushed to higher click and crackle sensitivities without introducing artifacts.

DeHum 2 has a new automatic fine-tune button that triggers automatic estimation of the hum noise frequency. The hum tracking and suppression have also been improved. DeClip 2 was improved in terms of audio quality and now offers even more impressive reconstruction of clipped signal peaks. All the plug-ins in the suite now support surround and immersive audio formats up to 7.1.6 channels.

Acon Digital Restoration Suite 2 is available as VST, VST3 or AAX for both Windows and Mac or as AU plug-ins for Mac. There are 32 and 64 bit versions for Windows and the Mac version is 64 bit.

DeNoise 2

DeNoise 2 is a plug-in designed to reduce noise such as hiss, wind noise, buzz and camera noise. The noise can be reduced automatically in the adaptive mode or after measuring the characteristics of the noise in the noise profile mode. New in version 2 are dynamic noise profiles that capture the dynamic properties of the noise so that noise that fluctuates over time, such as wind noise, can be effectively reduced. The new algorithm has also been greatly improved and is now even less prone to typical de-noising artifacts.

Features

  • Reconstructs peaks distorted by analog or digital clipping
  • Improved algorithm over version 1.x
  • Separately adjustable upper and lower threshold values
  • Optional upper and lower threshold lock simplifies the workflow in the case of symmetrical clipping
  • Graphical representation of the input and output level histograms makes it easy to set the threshold values and monitor the restoration process visually
  • Threshold values can be adjusted directly from the level histograms by dragging upper and lower threshold handles

Dialogue Match

Audio Restoration by iZotope

Images

Description

A Revolution in Dialogue Editing

Exclusively for Pro Tools

The makers of RX bring you the next indispensable tool for post-production. Keep your audience in the moment with seamless dialogue recordings.

Dialogue Match Crossgrades

Tailor-fit Dialogue Tracks to Your Scene

Dialogue Match is a Pro Tools AudioSuite plug-in that learns the reverb, EQ, and ambience data of a dialogue recording. It can then apply the profile to any other dialogue recording, giving your scene audio consistency across multiple environments.

The Dialogue Match Story

In 2019, iZotope added the complete Exponential Audio product line of reverb plug-ins to our collection of audio software. Working with Exponential Audio founder and renowned reverb expert Michael Carnes, iZotope set out to cure the headache of fitting multiple dialogue recordings to a single scene, even when captured with different microphones and in different spaces. Enter Dialogue Match.

Dialogue Match doesn't just introduce all-new reverb matching technology; it also combines our EQ and ambience matching tech with the superb engineering and sound quality of Exponential Audio reverbs. The result is a tool that extracts the environmental profile from one recording, and applies it directly onto another using the Exponential Audio reverb engine, reducing hours of tedious audio editing to mere seconds.

Dialogue Match is just the first example of what’s possible through the iZotope/Exponential Audio collaboration. With Michael Carnes as a part of our team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of digital audio production, iZotope are poised to deliver even more powerful and inspiring software innovations for music and post production.

How Dialogue Match Works

1. Capture the profile of your Reference file

2. Capture the profile of the file that needs editing

3. Tweak your effect settings and render

....

Why Dialogue Match?

Quickly Match Lavaliers to Booms

Add the space and ambience of a boom mic to the clarity and articulation of a lavalier without compromising on audio quality.

Automatically get ADR to Sit in the Mix

Studio-recorded dialogue performances can now instantly have the on-location sound to suit your production.

Match Localized Audio to Production

Apply the sonic profile of original dialogue to foreign language dubs in order to quickly complete localization projects.

Meet the Dialogue Match Modules

Traditionally, the process of matching audio clips recorded in different environments or captured using different microphones required hours of EQ tweaking and reverb crafting—until now. With the ability to instantly learn and transfer reverb, EQ, and ambience content between audio files, Dialogue Match helps maintain a sense of space and atmosphere between your scenes and keep your audience in the moment.

EQ

Dialogue Match uses iZotope's powerful EQ matching mechanics in order to produce a comprehensive replica of your reference file’s spectral profile. Select a clip as a reference, then quickly match the tonal aspects of any piece of dialogue and apply it to another. The Dialogue Match EQ module includes:

  • Amount: Controls the dry/wet ratio for your processed audio file
  • Up to 8 frequency band nodes for sonic flexibility and versatility
  • 5 shapes for each band node: Bell, High Pass, High Shelf, Low Pass, and Low Shelf
  • Individual Enable/Bypass controls on each band node for easy A-to-B comparisons

Reverb

Combining the latest innovations in iZotope machine learning with beloved Exponential Audio reverbs, Dialogue Match’s Reverb module is an industry first. By analyzing the reflections in your audio files, Dialogue Match instantly generates a matching reverb preset to place both files in the same virtual space. You can refine the reverb using a number of intuitive parameter controls:

  • Independent Wet and Dry controls to balance your reverb tone
  • Bypass: Enables and disables the Reverb module
  • Early Reflections: Controls the Level (gain) and Time (length) of the first reverb reflections
  • Tail: Controls the Predelay, Level, Attack, and Time (length) of the reverb tail
  • Reverb types: Choose from Chamber, Hall, or Plate reflections to tailor the right reverb for your project
  • Output Filter: Offers high and low pass filtering for your reverb signal
  • Density: Colors your reverb for even more precise fine-tuning

Ambience

Dialogue Match leverages the power of RX’s ambience matching technology to capture and create a more comprehensive profile of your dialogue recordings. Achieve authentic noise floor parity across any number of audio files in two simple clicks.

By learning your file’s ambience data—background noise—in addition to EQ and reverb data, Dialogue Match creates a more detailed, comprehensive profile which can then be applied to your target files with more precision and accuracy. Complete with a spectrogram display and Trim slider, the Ambience module lets you dial in the final layer of realism to your actors’ performance for unparalleled depth and authenticity.

NR800 Noise Reduction Processor HD

Audio Restoration by McDSP

Images

Description

Note: This product is the HD version. You can purchase the Native version HERE.

The NR800 is a real-time noise reduction processor, useful for music production, post production, and live sound.

The NR800 operates with no internal latency and does not contaminate the original source material with artifacts such as those found by noise reduction plug-ins that utilize transform-based processing.

The NR800 operates on mostly broadband frequencies, but can also be focused in a narrow portion of the frequency spectrum using noise reduction focus points. A set of input filters and be configured with slopes up to 36 dB/Oct, and can be set at frequencies independent of noise reduction focus points.

Several noise reduction modes (NR Mode) are available to provide a range of smooth to aggressive noise reduction amounts. A Range control can be used to scale the overall noise reduction from 100% to 0% (off). A ‘x2’ mode will also double the noise reduction amounts in all bands, when less finely tuned adjustment is needed, or when noise problems are severe. The Response time controls how fast the noise reduction recovers from a ‘noise event’. An NR Bias selector allows different noise reduction amounts to be activated when ‘snapping’ the noise reduction gain and thresholds to the input signal.

Each of the 8 bands in the NR800 has a noise reduction amount fader and noise detection threshold marker, and the usual McDSP linking control capabilities from a master (M) and linked (L) control button paradigm. Each band may also be individually bypassed or soloed to audition incoming noise amounts.

Features

  • HPF and LPF pre-filtering
  • Eight bands of focusable noise reduction
  • Noise reductions modes and noise reduction bias
  • Snap Gain and Snap Threshold for fast setup
  • Overall noise reduction range and response control
  • McDSP Emmy Award-winning engineering

NR800 Noise Reduction Processor Native

Audio Restoration by McDSP

Images

Description

Please Note: This product is the Native version. You can purchase the HD version HERE.

Features:

  • HPF and LPF pre-filtering
  • Eight bands of focusable noise reduction
  • Noise reductions modes and noise reduction bias
  • Snap Gain and Snap Threshold for fast setup
  • Overall noise reduction range and response control
  • McDSP Emmy Award-winning engineering

UNFILTER

Audio Restoration by Zynaptiq

Images

Description

Adaptive Tonal Contour Linearization

UNFILTER is a real-time plug-in that removes filtering effects, such as comb filtering, resonance, or excessive equalization – effectively linearizing the frequency response of a signal automatically. UNFILTER can also apply a detected filter response to another signal, or export it to disk as an impulse response, and can even perform mastering grade adaptive, free-form, and graphic equalization. Whether you're in music production, film post, game audio, broadcast, sound design, forensics, or engineering – UNFILTER makes time-consuming and often impossible tasks as effortless as adjusting one control.

Key Features:

  • Automatically detect and remove resonances, equalization, roll-offs and the effects of comb filtering from musical,  location, dialog and surveillance recordings.
  • Apply the measured filter response to other signals to place them in the same "acoustic world".
  • Export the measured filter response to or import it from a linear- or minimum-phase impulse response file (WAV).
  • Mastering grade adaptive, free-form and graphic equalization.
  • Extremely steep 96dB/octave shelving high-pass filter.
  • Output limiter for unsupervised use in batch processing applications.
  • Highly time-efficient workflow and UI
  • For an overview of the use cases for UNFILTER in sound for picture, music production/mastering, sound design, broadcast or forensics, please have a look at the UNFILTER applications page.

Set It Straight

UNFILTER automatically detects resonances, EQ or filter effects – essentially any frequency response anomalies that aren't part of the original signal. You can then remove these by simply adjusting one control, leaving the rest of the signal virtually untouched. As a result, previously problematic or unusable recordings can be made to sound good, and good recordings to sound great. In real-time, and with minimal effort, Zynaptiq-style.

Make It So

You can also apply the measured filter response from one recording to another – placing the two in the same acoustic "world". Or you can create room-tone to fill editing gaps, by applying a measured filter response to noise. You can of course also store filter responses to disk as linear- or minimum-phase impulse response files, building a library of "colors" to have at your disposal any time. Whether you need to make ADR blend with production dialog, get one guitar snippet to sound like part of another, or create new sounds, UNFILTER makes this task fast and easy.

More Equal

UNFILTER is also an EQ. Three mastering grade EQs and an excellent high-pass filter, actually. For one, its (un-)filtering engine can function as an adaptive program equalizer that continuously adjusts itself while the audio is playing. This helps maintain a balanced spectrum when working with audio that changes over time, for example when streaming mixed music in broadcast applications. Secondly, UNFILTER sports a free-form EQ with various curve interpolation modes, from super-gentle slopes, through narrow notches, to brickwall steps. Thirdly, we added a streamlined 7-band graphic EQ for good measure. And finally, there’s a super-steep 96dB per octave shelving high-pass filter that removes low frequency rumble so efficiently you’ll forget that there was ever anything down there.

Rocket Science

How does UNFILTER do all that? Technically, it performs a real-time blind de-convolution, a cutting-edge technology rarely found even in the most advanced of research institutes. Fortunately, we don't do lab coats.

This technology allows UNFILTER to take a close look at your audio, estimate what happened to its frequency response, and then create a filter that will undo the process. Sounds like rocket science? That's because it is. But all the technology in the world doesn't matter if it's difficult to operate or doesn't sound good. Well, UNFILTER is a breeze to use, and doesn't just sound good...it sounds amazing.

Lightspeed

The UNFILTER UI is so fast and easy to use that corrective EQ can often be done within seconds by adjusting just one of our super-slick trackball sliders. And for advanced customization, every single function and control has been engineered with painstaking attention to detail – finely-tuned for optimal workflow and results. Whichever control you move, the right setting is never far away. UNFILTER is not only a life-saver, it is also a time-saver par excellance. But don't take our word for it, experience it for yourself using the free trial version!

Applications For UNFILTER

UNFILTER is an incredibly versatile frequency response tool with a broad range of applications. We've compiled some of them here, organized by field of work: Sound For Picture, Music Production & Mastering, Sound Design, Broadcast and Forensics.

Sound For Picture

UNFILTER is a real workhorse in audio post. Its automatic recognition of frequency response anomalies is extremely useful for cleaning up production sound, and especially for enhancing the intelligibility of dialog. Here are some example scenarios:

  • Remove comb-filtering caused by multiple "open" mics being mixed to one iso track, or by proximity to reflective surfaces.
  • Remove resonances caused by room geometry or using shotgun mics near off-axis reflective surfaces.
  • Remove recording path roll-offs and lav mic chest resonance.
  • Increase level separation between dialog and background sounds.
  • Make ADR blend better with production dialog.
  • Synthesize room tone to fill editing gaps or to layer with ADR by applying a measured filter response to noise.
  • Make crowd atmos, walla or dense ambience collide less with dialog.
  • Manipulate apparent distance of background sounds by emphasizing room filtering effects.
  • “Worldize” SFX and foley recordings.
  • Speed up any equalization and low-cut filtering task.
  • Improve mix translation to non-standardized playback environments, like TV sor PCs, by removing resonances that would add up with the frequency response of the playback system.
  • Save hours of expensive mixing stage time.

Music Production & Mastering

In music production and mastering, fine-tuning the frequency response of your signals is one of the most commonly encountered tasks. Recordings of acoustic instruments and live performances often exhibit unwanted peaks and notches, and as the instruments in a song are typically playing in the same key, there is excessive  build-up in the frequency ranges where the relevant pitches have their fundamentals and harmonics. Also, your clients may have delivered processed tracks, limiting what can be done to “fix it in the mix”. UNFILTER’s automatic recognition of frequency response anomalies and its high-precision filtering engine make it a very flexible solution for all of these issues.

Below are some examples of what UNFILTER can do for you:

  • Remove resonances and other frequency response issues from recordings of acoustic instruments or live performances.
  • Remove EQ or filtering “printed” to tracks delivered for mix-down or mastering.
  • Remove guitar cabinet coloration, or apply it to a DI guitar.
  • Apply corrective EQ to any source within seconds.
  • Exaggerate a sound’s coloration to more firmly place it in it’s own frequency “window”.
  • Remove low-mid buildup from sub-mixes and mixes without losing the “body” of the sound.
  • Balance the spectrum of one or multiple songs.
  • Capture the frequency response of outboard EQ or other signal paths & apply it or store it as impulse response (WAV).
  • Accentuate the natural low end on acoustic bassdrums.
  • Remove spectral peaks caused by corpus resonance, for example on bass or acoustic guitars.
  • Apply a track’s measured filter response to overdubs made with a different recording setup to make them blend better.

Sound Design

UNFILTER’s ability to completely reshape the spectral contour of a signal, extract the filter response from a sound and apply it to a different file, and to solo the noisy components contained in a sound makes it an excellent tool for designing new sounds. Here are just a few ideas on how UNFILTER can aid you in creating that unique new sonic entity:

  • Extract a filter response curve from a sound and apply it to another.
  • Remove the natural corpus resonance from a sound and apply a different one.
  • Open or close synth lowpass filters after the fact.
  • Bring out aspects of a sound normally hidden behind other features.
  • Synthesize drones, hiss or rumble by extracting a filter response from an example sound & applying it to noise or other broad-band quasi- /cyclo-stationary sounds.
  • Use NOISE MONITOR to isolate the noisy components of a sound.
  • Generate multiple object state sounds from one file for game-audio.
  • Animate the frequency response of static sounds to make them more "alive".
  • Improve translation to consumer playback systems like gamer PCs.
  • Generally fine-tune the frequency response of a sound with unprecedented precision.

Broadcast & ENG

When broadcasting audio, it is important to maintain a consistent and balanced audio spectrum, to ensure optimal performance of all down-stream systems, including dynamics processing, codecs and playback devices...and, most importantly, to provide a high-quality, consistent and non-fatigueing listening experience to the audience. As the acoustic properties of the footage used can vary strongly to say the least, this is no trivial task. Electronic News Gathering (ENG) in the field can often require using only small, portable and inconspicuous devices, and/or low  bandwidth transmission systems, due to infrastructural, political or safety-related issues. In many cases, it’s either low-fidelity footage, or none at all. UNFILTER’s adaptive processing will help you make even the most difficult footage usable, and deliver the best possible audio every and any time. Here are some things UNFILTER will do for you:

  • Apply adaptive equalization to time-varying audio content, such as mixed music audio streams.
  • Enhance intelligibility of speech recordings by removing resonances and signal path related roll-offs.
  • Improve translation to consumer playback devices by removing non-linearities that would add up with those of the playback system.
  • Reduce the coloration imparted by transmission through telephones, megaphones, intercoms, P.A. systems etc.
  • Increase intelligibilty of speech recorded using low-fidelity or covertly worn recording devices.
  • Increase the separation of speech from background sounds.

Forensics

UNFILTER can assist in extracting information from recordings in multiple ways. Intelligibility of speech recordings can be greatly enhanced, the filtering effects of microphone occlusion can be removed, and you can even make sounds buried beneath others more audible. Some usage scenarios are:

  • Increase intelligibility of speech recorded using low-quality, occluded or damaged audio equipment.
  • Make sounds buried beneath other sounds more audible.
  • Increase separation between speech and background sounds.
  • Reduce the filtering effects caused by telephone transmissions.
  • Remove resonances and filtering effects caused by an intermediate medium, such as walls or windows.

UNVEIL

Audio Restoration by Zynaptiq

Description

UNVEIL: De-Reverberation and Signal Focusing

UNVEIL is a real-time, de-mixing based plug-in that allows attenuating or boosting reverb components within a mixed signal of any channel count, including mono sources, as well as modifying reverb characteristics. Additionally, UNVEIL allows you to bring the key features of a recording into focus, or move them to the background, by attenuating or boosting perceptionally less important signal components. Based on our proprietary, artificial intelligence based MAP (Mixed-Signal Audio Processing) technology, UNVEIL allows fixing previously unusable location audio and dialog, tightening up live music recordings, removing reverb and “mud” from musical signals, as well as creative sound design.

Key Features:

  • Audio engineers can attenuate reverb in recordings
  • Film mixers and dialog editors can remove reverb from dialog and location sound
  • Music producers can turn vintage drum-loops rich in reverb into dry recordings, and vice-versa
  • Foley artists can remove ambience from sub-optimally captured sounds
  • Mix and mastering engineers can bring key mix elements into focus by attenuating components commonly referred to as "mud"

Good Bye, Reverb

Removing reverb from recordings has always been difficult to impossible. Existing de-reverberation strategies either manipulate signal dynamics, require specific channel formats, are limited to certain signal types, or all of the above. Enter UNVEIL.
UNVEIL is not an expander or envelope shaper, is not a spectral thresholding processor, does not use phase cancellation techniques or inter-channel correlation analysis, and thus works with any channel count from mono to whichever surround formats your DAW supports, and without changing signal dynamics. To achieve this, it utilizes a model of the human auditory system to discern which parts of the signal are reverb, effectively “listening” to your signal much like a human would. These components are then separated from your signal for processing using our MAP technology. From there, reducing the amount of reverb in your recording is as easy as adjusting the value of one of our slick track-ball-esque sliders.

Hello, Reverb

Conversely, UNVEIL allows increasing the amount of reverb in a recording, too. You can turn a close-miked drum kit into a full-on room-heavy monster, move a sound back in the sound-stage or adapt the amount of reverb on different location recordings to match each other better. Additionally, UNVEIL gives you several parameters that allow manipulating reverb characteristics...like all of it's features, within a mixed signal, in real-time and even using mono source material. No, that's not magic, that's advanced science.

UNVEIL The Detail

UNVEIL's algorithm isn't limited to processing reverb. Actually, it processes any signal components that the human auditory system considers as being of little significance, which includes the parts that many engineers refer to as "mud". As a result, UNVEIL allows reducing the level of all the stuff that clouds your signal and masks the detail you work so hard to capture, bringing the key features into focus and, well, unveiling all the inherent detail. And again, you can use the inverse function to add grit and a less up-front character to your recording.

One Small Step...

Except for the mathematics under the hood, everything about UNVEIL is simple and easy, results are always just one small step away. That being said, UNVEIL allows adjusting the process in a very wide range. No dumbed-down "easy-mode" in sight, just a perfectly stream-lined, no-nonsense GUI that looks as slick as UNVEIL sounds. And oooooh yes does it sound good. But don't take our word for it, grab the demo for a test-drive!

Almost everyone has experienced undesirable background noise in their recordings. Maybe that amazing video of your kids also captured a noisy air conditioner, or that interview you recorded has a loud highway buzzing in the background. Not enough volume on your video's audio track? Were noisy fans supposed to be part of your interview? Have a loud humming sound caused by a bad cable? The list goes on and on. In any case, these noises can be a big distraction in your project.

SoundSoap Solo's user interface is designed to be simple and focused, making it easy enough for anyone to use. Simply drag in your video clips from the Finder, iPhoto, or another media application into the SoundSoap Solo application. You can even record new audio files directly into SoundSoap Solo. After media files have been cleaned with SoundSoap Solo, save or share* them with one click directly to Facebook, Email, Messaging, AirDrop, and more!
