Description

Please Note: This is the FULL version of Studio One 5 Artist. The following upgrade is also available:

Create Without Boundaries. Produce Without Limits. Perform Without Fear.

From studio to stage to stream, Studio One 5 is your creative partner, production assistant, online publisher, mastering suite, and bandmate. No other DAW lets you compose, record, produce, mix, master, and perform... all from a single application with an intuitive, time-saving drag-and-drop workflow.

Studio One is the only DAW that lets you record, produce, compose, mix, master, publish, and perform from a single intuitive interface—and its drag-and-drop workflow will supercharge your creativity. Loaded with world-class virtual instruments and effects that keep your imagination flowing, Studio One is a robust creative tool for songwriters and arrangers thanks to its Chord Track and Harmonic Editing, allowing you to quickly audition new harmony and chord structures in Instrument Tracks and even Audio Tracks. Composers will find a wealth of tools including score editing and printing in traditional, drum, and tablature notation as well as in Sound Variations, which let you manage articulations for even the most complex orchestral libraries. The built-in Project Page handles all of your mastering needs, and when your EP or podcast is done, you can publish directly to SoundCloud without leaving the application. When it comes time to perform, use Studio One’s Show Page live on-stage or on-stream to leverage your studio tracks as backing tracks; play virtual instruments live; use the third-generation Ampire live to re-create your studio guitar tones; and Studio One Native Effects to process your live vocals. Loop or repeat any section of your performance on the fly via Studio One Remote or your favourite controller. You can create, rearrange, and reimagine your entire setlist, show after show. All from Studio One.

Wherever Sound Takes You

Record, produce, compose, mix, master, and perform all from a single, intuitive application. Designed with ease of use at its core, Studio One® 5 is your creative partner from studio to stage. The Start Page provides what you need to begin your creative process, including a dashboard with all your songs, projects, and shows, plus a personalized user profile that allows you to add custom metadata to all your creations.

Open the Song Page and you’ll find everything you need to record, compose, edit, produce, and mix with a complete set of virtual instruments, effects, groundbreaking arrangement tools, and a new advanced Score View based on PreSonus’ award-winning Notion notation application. Integrate your external instruments with the drag-and-drop ease of a virtual instrument. Next, assemble and master your masterpiece in the Project Page. Projects and Songs are linked, so you know the mix you’re mastering is always up to date.

And when you’re ready to hit the stage, Studio One is right there with you. New in Version 5, the Show Page lets you add backing tracks, virtual instruments, and plug-in effects to your live instruments with an easy-to-use Setlist that lets you sculpt your performance and change your show each night or do a quick edit on the fly when inspiration strikes. The standard for end-to-end production, only Studio One 5 seamlessly moves with you from initial inspiration to full production, final mix to mastered album, digital release to stage production… and lets you truly create without boundaries.

The Original Drag-and-Drop Interface

Studio One pioneered the drag-and-drop workflow that continues to be a guiding principle in our design philosophy. Audio loops, virtual instruments, plug-in effects and even presets can all be dragged into your session from Studio One’s innovative Browser. Copy FX Chains from one channel to another simply by dragging and dropping. Convert MIDI to audio or audio to MIDI, just by drag and drop. New Clip Gain Envelopes let you polish performances or remove glitches with adding a plug-in to your effects chain. Ease of use is at the heart of Studio One, so you’ll work faster than ever before.

Composition Done Right

Modern composers need tools that let them incorporate electronic elements with traditional scoring. The new Score View in Studio One merges the best features of PreSonus’ award-winning notation software, Notion, into Studio One 5. You can view multiple staves at once to work on voicing, or just one track at a time. Use the score symbol palette to change dynamics, add trills, tremolos, and more during playback. And you can pick your Musical Editor View per-track, so you can switch between the Score View, Drum View, and the conventional Piano Roll View to suit your needs on a per-track basis - or, look at the same note data in different Views all at the same time, offering rare flexibility not often found in the digital audio world.

Produce Without Limits

Forget laborious transposition, cutting, pasting, and moving when arranging. With Scratch Pads to test out arrangements, an Arranger track that makes moving sections of songs around as easy as moving parts and groundbreaking Harmonic Editing—the most flexible implementation ever—no other program can approach the ease of arranging and songwriting that Studio One 5 delivers. Inspiring virtual instruments and unique Multi Instruments let you create your own unique library of sounds. And with the brand new Aux Inputs, your hardware synths, drum machines, and groove boxes can become an easily-incorporated part of your production. So dust off that TX81Z or Portastudio and put them back to work.

Analogue Mixing with Digital Ease

With a completely redesigned suite of effects plug-ins, Studio One 5 supercharges your mixing. Any plug-in with an input drive now features a State Space-modeled analogue input drive stage to add just the right amount of grit and warmth when you need it. Studio One Professional’s unique Pipeline XT plug-in lets you use your beloved collection of boutique, vintage, and classic analogue signal processors as easily as software plug-ins.

The Channel Editor lets you create complex effects chains including the Splitter tool that lets you run multiple plug-ins in parallel on a single channel. Mix Engine FX support State Space models of classic analogue consoles that affect your mix across channels on any bus, collectively. This isn’t a stereo bus plug-in, this is multi-source processing that creates vintage-inspired artefacts like true console crosstalk, analogue noise, and input gain saturation.

Perform Without Fear

Studio One 5 takes you from the studio to the stage or stream with its new Show Page. Create a Setlist using songs you’re already created in Studio One, incorporating a mix of live instruments, pre-recorded tracks, and virtual instruments. Each song in the Setlist can have its own unique instrumentation. Songs in your set can be rearranged on the fly using drag-and-drop, and elements from your Song files can be added to your Show via simple copy-and-paste or direct export. When it’s showtime, turn on the clean Performance view with a large meter and customizable, real-time controls over the parameters you want to adjust in real-time while on stage. Your studio sound is larger than life—now your stage persona can be, too.

Master Mastering

Studio One Professional is the only DAW that links songs and stems with finished, mastered Projects. Transfer mixes or mixed stems to the Project page for mastering—but if you hear anything you need to change, simply jump back into the Song and make your tweaks; the revised version updates with a single click so you can continue mastering without losing any previous work. Use Studio One Native Effects and your favourite third-party plug-ins to provide the final EQ, dynamics, and imaging control you need to create a professional sound.

You’ll also find analysis tools, like spectrum analysis, M/S-processing, K-System and EBU loudness metering, phase meter, expandable level meter, and oscilloscope to provide visual confirmation to what you hear, as well as help with conformance to existing broadcast and duplication standards. Apply processing to individual tracks or the entire collection, to take your masters to the next level. And when your masterpiece is ready, you’ll find DDP export, CD burning, and direct upload to Soundcloud and PreSonus Sphere options to share your mastered recordings with your clients and collaborators - or release your albums to the world.

What’s new in Version 5.5?

Track Automation on Project Page

This new feature lets you automate track and master volume, as well as any Plug-in parameter, either in real-time using your mouse or hardware controller, or by using the familiar tools, including the powerful Paint Tool with its eight different
modes. Apply volume automation to your liking; implement some gentle compression over time to bring some lift to your choruses, or dynamically tweak your tracks’ stereo width for consistent stereo imaging across your entire album.

Clip Gain Envelopes on Project Page

Clip Gain Envelopes are now available on the Project page so you can precisely fix gain issues while mastering without using dynamics plugins.

Listen Bus on Project Page

The Listen Bus is now available on the Project Page, allowing you to monitor through a separate output with separate effects while keeping the Master output unaffected. This way, you can use popular room correction plug-ins such as
Sonarworks Reference or headphone monitoring tools such as Waves Abbey Road Studio while mastering or mixing.

Track Transform on Project Page

Track Transform is now available on the Project Page as well as the Song Page. Track Transform lets you create rendered files of your mastered track, with every insert effect and automation parameter printed into the file — reversibly and non-destructively. This lets you reduce the computer processing power required of your session without committing to a mastering decision permanently.

Multiple Format Export for Digital Release

The Digital Release window on the Project Page now features a list of available audio formats which can be exported in a single pass — without even requiring additional rendering time! Each format remembers its own export settings, so
you can export your mastered album in high-resolution, 24-bit/96kHz WAV and AAC for streaming at the same time!

Target Loudness on Digital Release

The new Loudness options in the Digital Release window of the Project Page let you set target values for loudness and true peak during export. Not sure what values to set? No problem. Simply select from a list of common target loudness presets and let Studio One set the values for you. Presets for every major streaming service are included — from Apple Music to Spotify to YouTube — so there’s no Googling and no guesswork. And of course, you can create your own custom Loudness setting for later use.

New High-End Dithering Algorithm

Studio One 5.5 features a new, proprietary, custom-designed dithering algorithm that minimizes conversion artifacts and preserves low-level signals. It sounds so good that we’ve replaced Studio One’s previous dithering algorithm with it, so if you’ve got Dithering turned on (in the Advanced Preferences/Audio menu) you’re already using it!

Drag and Drop MIDI Files to Chord Track to Extract Chords

Any MIDI file can now be dragged directly to the Chord Track to extract its chords. This works with any .MID file, including MIDI chord packs or any songs in Standard MIDI file format. What’s more, only Studio One’s chord detection works with Audio Events as well as with Instrument Events. It has never been easier to prototype a Song so quickly and simply—and keep your creative spark alive.

Create a Strum Pattern by Dragging Notes

You can now create a strum pattern manually by dragging note events in a selected chord while holding the [Cmd+Opt] / [Ctrl+Alt] modifier keys. The notes will be locked to their vertical position (Pitch) and their horizontal position will be spread between the drag start and the dragged note position, allowing you to create strummed chords with a single movement.

Ampire Now Optimized for Fast Preset Switching on Show Page

Ampire now features improved preset switching with focus on live performance. Switching Ampire presets is now faster than ever and optimized for use with the Show Page, so you can trigger your favorite Ampire presets from a MIDI
pedalboard during a show without missing a beat!

  • Teachers - A letter of employment from the school on headed paper.

This is the FULL version of Studio One 5 Professional. The following upgrades and crossgrades are also available:

Waveform Pro 11 - Basic Pack

DAW by Tracktion

Images

Description

The most creative, inspirational and affordable digital audio workstation ever created.

Important Note: This is the full version of Waveform Pro 11 - Basic Pack. The following versions and upgrades are available:

What Kind Of A Musician Are You?

Waveform is a rapidly evolving application specifically designed for the needs of modern music producers. Specializing in creative and inspirational workflows and avoiding features not explicitly needed allow the app to remain surprisingly fun and intuitive. While other apps try to appeal to broad user groups, for example film score, live sound, performance – we are laser focused on music production. Explore how Waveform Pro can empower your individual style.

How Waveform Pro 11 Can Be Used To Match Your Style

Band Recording

When working as part of a band, there is a strong focus on recording, editing and mixing real instruments and vocals. Waveform Pro has assembled some of the most highly respected partners and evolved some of the most well know tools for this task.

Multi track drums are potentially one of the toughest tasks for editing and historically have required specialist knowledge and skills. Engineers working at the highest levels have relied on a tool known as ‘Beat Detective’ in an existing DAW – the Waveform development team poured over countless tutorials to devise ways in which this process can be improved – the result of this effort is our intuitive Groove Doctor tool set.

Another common production technique with live multi-tracked recordings is drum replacement. Whether you’re adding punch and character to a kick or replacing a poorly recorded snare, simply click ‘Beat replace drum loop’ and the audio clip is automatically analyzed, sliced and imported into the Multisampler. From here you can generate a MIDI clip and switch out/experiment with drum samples.

Although every musician wishes to deliver the perfect take, sometimes a little correction can go a long way. Waveform is the only DAW to include both Anatres Autotune & Celemony Melodyne with ARA integration for seamless editing within the DAW. Along with these award winning tools, Z-Planes industry leading Elastique Pro time stretch algorithm’s can be deployed to stretch, pitch or warp audio to your needs.

Waveform’s powerful ‘rack’ environment allows you to create your favorite DSP combinations – for example you may have the perfect vocal effects chain for each of your bands singers for immediate recall, or complex parallel processing to be deployed effortlessly.

Have you ever missed an amazing practice take? Or cursed when an artist sings a pickup just before the downbeat? Waveform’s Retrospective Record has you covered, keeping a recording buffer running for any track, capturing musical ideas in the background even when not recording. Ideal for multi-track band recordings, the retrospective record buffer can be set to range between 30 seconds to 10 minutes. Performances can be retrospectively recalled with a simple click of a button.

Full bands can consume prodigious numbers of audio tracks and DSP processing, pushing even the most powerful computer systems to their limits. Waveform Pro features a comprehensive System Resource Management tool that allows you to deploy features such as ‘track freeze’ to rapidly free up processor cycles. This can also be done at a granular level by using the ‘Freeze point’ technology – allowing you to freeze a tracks DSP at a specific point in the signal flow for maximum flexibility. Latency management is also a key feature utilizing intelligent offline rendering, allowing you to switch into ultra low latency mode regardless of the session size.

EDM - House / Techno

Electronic dance music covers a broad spectrum, for this example we will focus on the four-to-the-floor genres that can propel producers to the top of the charts.

In the world of EDM, there is a vast array of source material to pull from, whether it be loop libraries, VI’s or recorded sounds. Waveform offers the perfect browser for EDM productions. Not only is it intuitive and easy to navigate but you can create multiple instances and have them audition and synchronize loops simultaneously. Audio previews sync to the project tempo and between the browser panes making it super easy to audition loops and experiment with different combination ideas. Once happy with a selection of samples you can batch add them to an edit with a simple drag and drop.

Step sequencers are synonymous with house and techno music production. Allowing for the quick, intuitive programming of rhythmic elements they’ve been the go-to choice of producers for drums, basslines and more. Waveform’s Step Clips integrate seamlessly with the Drum Sampler and can be dragged onto any track within your edit. Or program rhythmic synth elements with your favorite virtual or external MIDI instruments directly in the timeline.

Clip FX are a unique and highly creative tool within Waveform. Each audio clip can be manipulated directly at the clip level with a suite of creative sound design tools. Allowing you to ‘layer’ processing and re-arrange freely. Tools include step volume, clip reverse, pitch manipulation and any plugin DSP. Creating pulsing risers or interesting rhythmic content has never been easier.

Chord Companion adds to Waveform Pro’s renowned composition tools allowing you to trigger complex chords with just a single MIDI note or pad on your controller. A variety of scales are offered allowing for the easy drag and drop of chords onto the pads. Once on the pads the octave and inversion of each can be tweaked and performance tools like arpeggiation, note repeat and random are on hand to inspire and speed up your productivity.

Antares Autotune is a powerful tool for both fixing minor errors in a performance, but also adding more extreme FX that have become popular. It is commonly used to perfect an amazing performance that may have exactly the right energy but not quite pitch perfect, running small amounts of correction can be just the confidence boost your vocalist needs. Alternatively, it can be used with more extreme correction to result in the iconic vocoder style sound.

Every great EDM track features a great synthesizer and Waveform Pro has you covered. 4OSC and Subtractive are 2 powerhouse synths capable of a wide array of speaker blowing sounds. The heavyweight Subtractive synthesizer plugin puts a modern spin on things with 4 oscillators, each with ring modulator, 2 filters, a drive stage in-between and lots of modulation possibilities. Its filters provide State-Variable, Transistor Ladder and Sallen-Key filter types to faithfully recreate classic analog synth sounds. Whereas 4OSC’s clean UI and small CPU footprint make it a great alternative to Subtractive for less complex sound design tasks. As the name suggests 4OSC offers 4 oscillators, flexible modulation, MPE compatibility and a range of onboard filters and FX.

Electronic - D&B / Dubstep / Grime

The secret to becoming a superstar electronic producer lies in the discipline of sound design. Watch interviews with some of the genres greats such as Noisia, Pendulum and Deadmau5 and they all say the same thing – take time to create your own sample libraries so when you write your tracks you pull from your own creative pool. This is critical in defining your own sound.

The Waveform development team have given deep thought to this process and have not only built the tools needed, but also the workflow to make this process as fun and productive as possible.

At the center of this workflow is the powerful Multi Sampler instrument. Sounds can be ingested into the sampler from several intuitive sources within the DAW, but also from outside the DAW. It allows you to route audio from other apps – including your web browser – directly into the sampler, opening up a world of sound sources. Sounds can be creatively manipulated and the output of the sampler can be saved in standard loop format or our unique ‘track loop’ format that behaves like a normal audio clip, but can also reload all the track settings used to create the sound – including the MIDI data, instrument and DSP – so integrating the sound into future productions is ultimately flexible and auditioning is just like any other audio clip.

Another powerful feature of the sampler is the old skool ‘Recycle’ workflow – greatly improved and simplified of course. In Waveform, you can send any audio clip to the sampler at the touch of a button, with automatic transient slicing, to immediately be able to convert the audio to MIDI for manipulation. Alongside the popular warping capabilities, audio can be twisted to your liking.

Editing between multiple audio clips can be super creative using the innovative comp group feature. This deploys the familiar comp swipe tool usually associated with multi-take files, but can be used across unrelated clips. A good example of how it can be used involves grouping several bass or lead clips and using swipe to quickly select regions from each – this can result in really interesting transitions.

Waveform Pro’s powerful automation system can be used creatively to add rhythmic movement to your sounds. Preset wave shape patterns can be easily deployed, adjusted and assigned to your favorite parameters. Another set of tools for adding movement to your sounds are the suite of modifiers that can also be assigned to any parameter – use an enveloper to pump the bassline when the kick hits or use a randomizer to add character.

Diving deep into your virtual instruments and creating your own patches is another key part of defining your sound. Waveform Pro’s rack environment is a modular playground for loading any number of instruments, FX and modifiers with an intuitive patch system. Layer multiple instruments and craft your own complex sounds with ease and create your own faceplates for these creations with only your favorite parameters at your control to tame the complexity.

Seemingly small details can make all the difference – one example of these are the audio clip pitch fades. It's common to be able to draw volume fades at the start or end of an audio clip, waveform Pro takes it next level by allowing you to draw tape start/stop pitch fades too. This can be used for subtly humanizing of sounds, or more obvious wind up and slow down effects like a record deck.

Singer / Songwriter

As a singer songwriter, you are looking for an application that allows you to ideate and construct compositions as quickly and easily as possible – the technology needs to get out of the way of the creative flow. Waveform Pro includes unique tools and workflows designed to be as intuitive as possible and thereby reducing the technological barrier that can so easily stifle the creative process.

Constructing the basic elements of a track requires the artist to either be a multi-instrumentalist, or have the necessary toolkits available to easily recreate musical elements. Waveform Pro includes a collection of unique, full multi-track drum loops, recorded in one of Italy’s finest studios. Utilizing Waveform’s Track Loop format, the content can be auditioned as a stereo file and utilized as such, or imported in full multi track format at the touch of a button for ultimate flexibility. With a wide array of drumming styles available, these collections can form the basis of diverse musical genres.

Waveform Pro also includes the heavyweight sample based instrument ‘Collective’ designed to provide an extensive list of different instrument types – everything from drums, strings, keys to less typical instruments such as harps and mandolins. Finding the instrument you hear in your head to accompany your creative idea is its primary goal.

Vocals are obviously a critical element for songwriters and there is no better tool for speeding up the creative process than Antares Autotune included in Waveform Pro. By utilizing the superb correction algorithms, you can minimize the number of takes needed to capture the moment and keep the creative process flowing. Often these early takes can be the best as they have the most feeling – so correcting any minor tonal errors allow you to retain the content through to completion.

Another Grammy award winning tool, indispensable to a songwriter, is Celemony Software’s ground breaking Melodyne, also included in Waveform Pro. This powerful application allows you to manipulate audio and experiment with different tone and phrasing of your recorded ideas with no loss of audio quality. Waveform Pro features ARA integration that allows Melodyne to function seamlessly within the DAW environment.

New in Waveform Pro 11 is the multi screen management system including optimized touch capabilities. What this allows you to do is step away from your main computer and utilize an iPad (or similar) device to control the DAW from anywhere is your space. Removing the glare of technology from your thought process yet having all your core functionality at your finger tips.

Every musical project requires some level of signal processing to complete the composition – whether it be adding a touch of reverb or dynamics, or more additive FX such as delays or combinations of processors – Waveform Pro has you covered. The ‘Standard Pack’ includes the aptly named ‘DAW Essential Collection’ which provides high quality CPU optimized processors for all the common tasks. Waveform Pro 11 also adds to the popular ‘Artisan Collection’ now with 182 elemental processors for you to combine in interesting ways – there is something for everyone and every style. With this depth of processing, you will never be left short for creative inspiration.

Arrangement can be a daunting task, especially when track count has grown, and often impedes the process of actually finishing a project. New in Waveform Pro 11 is the super useful ‘arranger track’ which vastly speeds up the process and actually makes it a fun part of the creative process. You can move, copy, delete and duplicate regions of your arrangement by simply manipulating the arranger clips and with added capabilities such as magnetic timeline, arrangement has never been easier.

Hip Hop / R&B

Melody can be a powerful starting point especially for Hip Hop and R&B where the beats often dance around the melodic structure and vocals. Waveform Pro is packed full of creative tools to help inspire and capture your melodic ideas. The revolutionary Pattern Generator’s and MIDI tools place a potent sound design toolkit at your fingertips, and when it comes time to record we back you up with the industries finest tools including Antares Autotune and Celemony Software’s Melodyne.

Waveform Pro’s pattern generator toolkit brings together melody, chord progression and bass into one easy to use synchronized environment. Choose from popular chard progressions and manipulate to your taste while automatically adding melodic and bass accompaniment. As you build your arrangement, the toolkit can also be controlled via the global chord track so experimenting with key changes is fast and easy.

If playing your progressions is your preference, the new Chord Companion instrument allows you to trigger complex chords with a single note and assign to your favorite controller hardware for tactile performance. Also featuring powerful arpeggiator and note repeater, the Chord Companion is a potent creative weapon.

Next on the agenda is a killer beat. You know you need to go deep to get that unique sound and we have the tools to get you there. Waveform Pro’s samplers are designed to help you create your own sound libraries, surgically engineer your audio and program. With a dedicated Drum Sampler UI and the integrated Step Sequencer you have all the tools needed to compose the perfect beat for your next hit track.

When it comes to vocals, Waveform Pro has everything you need to capture the ultimate performance and craftily engineer to your preferred style. With the included Antares Autotune you can fine tune minor imperfections, or mangle to the popular vocoder effect level – with this powerful tool, anyone can approach the mic and get amazing results.

Adding the dressing to your musical salad is the next step and this is where all of Waveform Pro’s included instruments come into play. Whether you are pulling from your own sound library or just need to add a sprinkling of brass or strings, we got you covered. The powerhouse instrument ‘Collective’ provides a wide array of instrument types to choose from – everything from grand piano’s to harps are included. 4OSC and Subtractive provide the floor rumbling bass and dreamy pads classic analog synthesizers are famous for.

Make your finished tracks sound amazing with all the pro grade DSP effects included in Waveform Pro. Shimmering reverbs, surgical EQ’s, creative delays and transparent dynamics empower you to create tracks that can be listened the world over, optimized for every format.

Experimental

Experimental covers a broad array of genres, but all invoke a similar methodology – taking existing tools and workflows and using them in unique and unusual ways – often outside of their design parameters. This is where musical genesis takes place and entirely new genres are created – and the Waveform development team dive deep thinking of ways to spark these uprisings.

Since the very fits version of Waveform (Tracktion back then) the app has featured a digital modular philosophy. Unique at the time, it differed from other DAW’s with fixed signal flow based on mixing consoles of the time. Waveform Pro features a powerful ‘rack’ environment that allows you to freely route audio, MIDI and modifier tools in a free space. Connect all your DSP in weird and wonderful ways and spice with the array of modifier tools.

Waveform Pro’s powerful modifier tools are perfect for experimentation. Rapidly assign to your plugin or DAW parameters to explode them into life. The suite includes step sequencer, LFO, envelopers and more. These powerful tools allow sounds to interact together in organic ways, bouncing off and around each other. Deploy in the modular rack environment to dive deep into sound design and sonic evolution.

A good sampler is an indispensable tool to any sound design enthusiast – and Waveform Pro’s has been carefully designed to not only provide a potent feature set, but also a revolutionary workflow around it. Sounds can be ingested into the sampler from several intuitive sources within the DAW, but also from outside the DAW. It allows you to route audio from other apps – including your web browser – directly into the sampler, opening up a world of sound sources.

To help you keep track of your sonic explorations, Waveform Pro’s unique ‘track loop’ audio file format gives you the convenience of loop auditioning, with all the flexibility of loading the original sound source. Track Loops behave like a normal audio clip, but can also reload all the track (or multi track) settings used to create the sound – including the MIDI data, instrument and DSP – so integrating the sound into future productions is ultimately flexible and auditioning is just like any other stereo audio clip.

Here at Tracktion, experimentation is in our DNA, nowhere is this more obvious than our range of virtual instruments. BioTek 2, Waverazor and SpaceCraft all push the boundaries of what can be done with a synthesizer. BioTek 2 is vastly capable with virtually unlimited modulation capabilities, numerous oscillator types including samples and a surprisingly approachable UI. Waverazor features a patented new oscillator type – the holy grail of synthesizer design – bringing new opportunities for innovative sound design. And SpaceCraft magically combines granular synthesis with a highly creative user interface that invites playful experimentation.

The Fastest Growing DAW In The World

Waveform Pro includes a massive suite of FX plugins as well as content resources for your creative workflow.

Features

  • Arranger Track

  • Waveform Pro introduces the Arranger Track, a remarkably simple yet powerful tool for manipulating regions of your arrangement. Simply create an arrange clip in the arranger track to control the entire region of your arrangement. The arranger track has contemporary features such as magnetic movement, commonly found in video editors, that automatically open and close regions of the arrangement based on your selections. Experimenting with your arrangement and song structure has never been easier.

  • View Presets

  • Edit view setups can now be saved and restored. For example, you can float your mixer panel and use the small transport bar and save this as a view preset. If you want to save a view preset with all side panels closed and just the arrange panel showing you can do that too. Currently you have to save and load view presets with the “Navigation” shortcuts or set up quick actions for them.

  • Quick Action Bar

  • The quick action bar is located just above the properties panel or transport bar and can be used to assign any shortcut action including custom macros. It’s quick and easy to add buttons… assign them actions… set names… colors… and then trigger them with one big, clearly labeled button. With the Quick Action Bar you can create multiple workflow templates and quickly switch between them with ease.

  • Quick Action Window

  • The quick action window has been designed with touch screens in mind, giving you access to the mixer and a number of quick action bars which can be easily stacked with the click of a button. It’s now possible to set up multiple screens or touch screens so they’re dedicated to specific instruments, plugins or part of the app. These can be saved as a layout preset for recall in future edits.

  • Custom Layouts

  • Most panels in the Edit window can now be individually undocked to put them on different monitors. This includes the arrange, mixer and MIDI editors. Additionally, in the “Appearance” settings page you can now dedicate a monitor to plugin windows. All plugin windows will appear on this monitor to avoid cluttering the main workspace.

  • Edit Overview

  • The Edit overview allows for rapid navigation of your edit. Almost any window panel can now be undocked (including the mixer and arranger) for ultimate customizability. Custom layouts can be created and saved allowing for the creation of multiple workflow based environments which can be recalled in any Edit. » Play Video

  • Audio Chord Track

  • Audio clips can now be set to follow Waveform’s Chord Track. With auto-pitch enabled under loop-properties the auto-pitch mode provides the option of either following the host’s key or chord track. Selecting chord track ensures your audio now locks perfectly with your chord arrangement.

  • New MIDI Tools

  • Waveform Pro includes 5 new MIDI tools: Arpegiator, Note repeat, Chord companion, MIDI Monitor, and MIDI Filter.
  • The Arpegiator offers classic arpeggiation and much more including tight control over both the timing and input.
  • Note Repeat takes your MIDI notes and repeats them based on the pattern selected and clock settings.
  • Chord Companion adds to Waveform’s renowned composition tools allowing the user to trigger complex chords with just a single MIDI note.
  • MIDI Monitor aids analysis and troubleshooting by clearly listing all MIDI events as they occur.
  • MIDI Filter takes advantage of Waveform’s multi input functionality allowing you to filter out notes and effectively play two instruments with one keyboard.
  • Plugin Sandboxing

  • 3rd party plugins are the weak link for any digital audio workstation. Waveform Pro addresses this by implementing plugin sandboxing. Once activated your work environment is protected by keeping plugin crashes contained. Instead of the host closing, the plugin is simply deactivated.

  • Actions Panel

  • Waveform features a host of user interface and workflow improvements designed to help navigate its deep capabilities. The Actions Panel, accessible in the browser, allows the user to fully customize what features are displayed – favoriting commonly used actions and hiding those rarely needed. Users can also create their own actions using macro scripts and assign custom key commands further increasing the apps ability to respond to its users particular workflow. Actions are available via the right click menu and can be accessed by the cursor position greatly speeding up your ability to access core functions. Additional edit screens and plugin UI’s can also be launched directly from this Actions Panel keeping all your common tools in one place. Prepare to become an editing ninja.

  • Edit Groups

  • The addition of edit groups opens up a number of really useful tools to significantly enhance your audio editing capabilities. The most significant of these is the ultra cool ‘Groove Doctor’ editing process most typically used for multi track drum recordings. Quickly perform phase accurate quantization across multiple tracks of recorded audio whilst capturing snapshots for recall at a later date if edits need revisiting. Besides repairing errors in a performance, the tool can also be used to quickly extract complex groove templates that can be used to lock your edit to a recorded groove. Edit groups are also particularly useful when handling multi track comps, saving time and effort during complex editing as well as during mix down. With an edit group panel in the browser allowing for easy management and access to your groups, diving deep into audio surgery has never been easier.

  • Performance & Stability

  • The biggest cause of instability in any DAW is plugins. The Tracktion development team is taking the lead in host stability management by developing an open source plugin validation tool to help both users and developers alike. This development tool benefits all hosts as it tests for common problems that would affect all DAW apps and provides a much more efficient resolution path for plugin developers. Eradicating instability completely is not feasible in the short term, so Waveform features ‘constant save’ technology and immediate crash recovery. This means if a crash occurs, there is absolutely no loss of data and the system is restarted in a matter of seconds with the offending plugin quarantined. Say goodbye to crash paranoia.

  • Macro Parameters

  • Creating and assigning plugin macro parameters allows you to quickly extract your favorite features from complex virtual instruments and effects and placing them at your finger tips. Macro’s can control any number of parameters from any number of devices, so the feature can be used for creative sound design and sound shaping, as well as a time saving tool to be recalled with your favorite plugins – always have your favorite tools right where you need them.

  • Plugin Faceplates

  • Modern virtual instruments and effects are constantly becoming more powerful and editing capabilities are getting deeper. This results in plugin user interfaces that can be overwhelming and complex. Now you can create your own faceplates for your favorite plugins allowing you to choose exactly what controls and parameters you want to view and manipulate – even adding different controls not available on the original UI such as X/Y pads. Quickly build an interface with the exact controls you need for your favorite plugs.

  • The powerful modular ‘rack’ environment in Waveform has become highly revered for its limitless capabilities. Creating complex assemblies of DSP is easy and intuitive, allowing you to focus on the task at hand – whether that be processing a vocal or diving deep into multi instrument sound design. Racks 2.0 takes it to the next level with the addition of the ‘stacked’ view and new auto connection capabilities. Add to this the ability to create custom face plates and macros, and the Rack 2.0 environment just became a whole lot more visual and creative.

  • Updated Modifiers

  • Waveform features six new modifiers, building on the popular LFO tools from previous generations. These creative tools allow you to manipulate parameters adding movement and ‘life’ to your sounds. The new tools consist of:
  • LFO – Basic LFO with a range of shapes now including random (S&H) and noise (ramp).
  • Breakpoint – An oscillator with a variable number of points that can be dragged to create a custom shape.
  • Step – A step sequence between 2 & 64 bipolar steps.
  • Envelope Follower – Follows the audio signal on the track and maps this to parameter changes.
  • Random – Similar to the random types of the LFO except this has smoothing and step depth controls for random-walk type movements.
  • MIDI Tracker – Track incoming pitch or velocity in absolute or relative modes. Create a map of MIDI to output value.
  • Track Loops

  • Track loops are a new way to save multi track data along with a stereo preview clip. The preview clip can be auditioned when browsing your libraries, then expanded to the original multi track format upon adding to your edit – or simply use the preview clip if desired. Recall of complete track setup including plugins, LFO’s, automation etc can be saved as part of the track loop format. Creating your own libraries of content has never been more flexible or convenient.

  • Chord Track

  • The chord track allows you to visually track the musical progressions throughout your arrangement. Paired with the extremely popular MIDI pattern generator, you can quickly experiment with different chords across multiple synchronized MIDI clips.

  • Composition Tools

  • The MIDI composition tools available in Waveform are designed to empower and inspire the creative process. Tools which demystify complex musical structures and allow non trained enthusiasts to explore composition. Synchronized pattern generators allow you to dive into chord progressions with matching bass lines, melodies and arpeggios. Real time chord players turn one finger keyboard players into musical maestros. Don’t let your instrumental abilities restrict your creative flow.

  • Modular Mixing

  • Waveform features an expanded modular mixer that can take advantage of multi screen setups. The customizable interface allows you to quickly switch from editing to mixing workflows and desired viewing. Waveform’s powerful ‘racks’ environment allow you to build limitless DSP chains and save/recall them as presets, whether it be your favorite DSP for a particular vocalist, or deep sound design patch. Embrace the power and flexibility of digital modular.

  • Unlimited Potential

  • Waveform is an unlimited app designed for modern music production. Developed to be creative and inspirational and with a minimal learning curve, our goal is to empower music enthusiasts. Unlike other apps, Waveform supports all major plugin and loop varieties and runs on all major desktop operating systems – now including Raspberry Pi. Customized Workflow To Match Any Style

Bitwig Studio is the single solution for realizing any musical idea across every stage of production.

Discover Bitwig Studio 4, the innovative music creation and performance software. Record and arrange in the timeline, perform in the Clip Launcher, and build audio devices in The Grid. Bitwig Studio takes your musical ideas through each stage of production.

What's New in 4.2?

What sounds good? Bitwig got inspired by some classic audio effects units and then made a suite of excellent effects for Bitwig Studio 4.2. Please welcome new Choruses, Flangers, Phasers, and just one more note FX to the family.

New Audio FX

They may look like three new devices - Chorus+, Flanger+ and Phaser+ - but you're really getting more like 12. Each device has four unique Character modes that use a different architecture, just like the eras of vintage studio hardware.

So the modes and settings might remind you of particular gear, but instead of emulating units, each Character was designed to have range and sound good. Like, really good.

Bitwig spent a lot of time and care shaping each Character, including the LFOs that make each sound move. But you can also “override” Flanger+ or Phaser+ and get direct control. By mixing and matching LFOs, step sequencers, and any of Bitwig’s 38 modulator devices, you are free to animate our algorithms and make them your own.

Chorus+, Flanger+, and Phaser+ are also available as Grid modules. So throw these full effects into any Grid patch, with the freedom to craft a stereo modulation signal or make it fully polyphonic. As always, whatever you can imagine is possible in The Grid.

Exit The Grid

In the spirit of The Grid, Bitwig's new Note Grid device allows you to build your own note effects. To give a hint of what is possible, Bitwig has included a handful of note processor and generator patches, with more to come...

Creating notes only requires a Note Out module and a gate signal. So whether you are putting a new spin on classic note effects or building a music-generating patch, The Grid has you covered.

And Then Some

Bitwig Studio 4.2 has a few miscellaneous updates to mention. For starters, Bitwig is now available in French!

With new audio effects in the works, it was especially handy to have mini views for modules that visualize the effects, Oscilloscope and Spectrum.

A new Anti-aliasing option for most Grid Shaper modules also felt right, along with a new Hard Clip module joining the team.

Since Note Grid can sort signals into the 16 MIDI channels, the new Channel-16 Modulator helps you use those groupings on any instrument or plugin. And when generating notes with a module like Probabilities, it just made sense to add a Confidence output, good for per-step velocities or just a little self-assurance.

Record & Arrange

  • Streamline your creative process and quickly evolve your ideas into complete songs, tracks, and compositions.
  • Bitwig Studio offers intuitive tools to record, edit, and arrange any material.

Improvise & Perform

  • Take your music out of the studio and onto the stage.
  • Bitwig Studio is built for live performance, let your music flow, always on the beat.

Design Sounds

  • Bitwig Studio is a sound designer’s dream, with modular device architecture and a wealth of instruments and effects.
  • Browse a rich library of presets and sounds, or build your own instruments and FX from scratch using The Grid.

Powerful Editing Tools

Bitwig Studio is here to help you make your musical ideas happen, in as few steps as possible. Focus on the music, not the tool.

Audio Editing

The Detail Editor optimizes audio editing by letting you make edits within a clip. This allows you to stretch, split, pitch, pan, copy, reverse, add, move, and rearrange audio as you choose.

Expressive MIDI Support

In addition to standard note-editing features and per-note expressions such as velocity, gain, pan, timbre, and pressure, Bitwig Studio features unique tools like quick actions, micro pitch, and sophisticated layered editing, and is a forefront runner in supporting MPE.

Time-Stretching

Keep your audio material in time regardless of project tempo using Bitwig Studio's state-of-the-art time stretching. Let Bitwig Studio analyze and automatically stretch your audio, or take full control and use our advanced stretching and editing tools.

Bitwig Studio comes with 8 different time stretch algorithms to cover all your musical needs, including the renowned Zplane Elastique in four flavours.

Instruments & Effects

Here’s a taste of the vast and ever-growing device library that comes with Bitwig Studio. With over 90 different instruments, audio and note FX, container devices, and signal routers you can translate any idea into music.

Polymer starts simple: pick an oscillator, a filter, and an envelope generator. Swapping out Grid modules within a dedicated synthesizer is both fast and quick, helping you craft production-worthy sounds from minimal controls immediately.

Sampler

The Bitwig Studio Sampler is a powerful tool for playing and manipulating audio. It boasts several playback modes, advanced looping features with crossfades, endless modulation possibilities, a massive multisample editor, and more...

Phase-4

Meet Phase-4, a four-oscillator synthesizer powered by phase modulation and phase distortion. This unique synth can do classic, modern, and beyond.

EQ+

EQ+ is a feature-packed graphical equalizer with up to 8 bands, mouse gestures, and excellent visualization and algorithms.

Drum Machine

The Drum Machine is a container device that you can fill with sonic goodness. It's never been easier to create unique and great-sounding kits.

Arpeggiator

Individual controls for step velocity, note length, and pitch. 17 note patterns, and three modes for handling octaves. Full MPE support. Even modulate the timing for shifting patterns. Holding chords has never been so musical and dynamic.

Micro-Pitch

Micro-Pitch is a Note FX device that allows you to re-tune your note streams in new ways. Transform scales, fine-tune individual notes, shrink or expand octaves, or even slice the octave into a different number of pieces. Play something unimaginable, today.

Amp

Inject a bit of virtual analogue grit into your sounds with the Amp device, a remarkable piece of amplifier-simulation technology.

Enter The Grid

The Grid is a sound designer's dream. It can be a synth, an audio effect, or most things you can imagine.

The Grid is a modular sound design environment, open for you to build your own creations from scratch.

It's also an expressive instrument with hundreds of high-quality patches for you to explore, ready to play. It's sophisticated yet easy and fast at the same time.

Explore it, Build it, Play it.

Modulation Heaven

The modulation system in Bitwig Studio allows you to use Macro controls, Note Expressions, LFOs, and Envelopes to modulate any device, VST plug-in, or hardware parameter. With 30+ modulators (and counting) the potential for creative expression is endless.

Hardware Integration

Bitwig loves hardware. Bitwig also loves software. This is why Bitwig Studio wants to blur the boundaries between the two.

Let Bitwig Studio control your hardware, or let your hardware control Bitwig Studio, or both, via MIDI, CC, CV, Gate, analog and MIDI Clock, and MIDI Timecode. Enjoy a collection of straightforward tools that allow you to take advantage of the best of two worlds, and that scales with your setup.

Modern Foundations

Building a DAW from the ground up allowed Bitwig to think differently and solve old problems in new ways. Bitwig Studio is made for the future...

Crash Protection

Bitwig Studio handles VST plug-in hosting in a unique way, allowing for different hosting modes and plug-in crash protection. With plug-ins, the audio engine, and other processes running in separate threads, a technical issue won't bring your whole project down.

Touch Support

With extensive touch-screen support (multi-touch with unlimited touch points, gestures, pen support, and simulated pressure), Bitwig Studio is at the forefront of new ways to create music. Overall, the user interface of Bitwig Studio is touch-friendly; in addition, there is a dedicated tablet display profile, perfect for any touch screen, or devices such as Microsoft Surface computers.

A Rich Library of Sounds

Bitwig has partnered with some of the best sound designers in the business to give you several thousand quality presets, Clips, and samples right out of the box.

Description

This is the full version of Studio One 5 Professional. The following upgrades and crossgrades are also available:

Recording - Easy And Professional

Choose from a range of recording templates for pure MIDI sessions or entire recording projects. Recording vocals and perfectly tuned instruments on multiple tracks at the same time.

Multitrack Recording

Vocal Recording Correction

With Vocal Tune 2, correcting your vocal recordings is simple. The pitch curves and practical waveform display let you adjust recordings in detail with the pencil tool.

Virtual Studio Rack

At the heart of Reason is a virtual rack where you craft your own sound using Reason’s synthesizers, drum machines, samplers, and other organic instruments – along with a large collection of audio and MIDI effects to shape both your sound and even the notes you play on your keyboard.

The Rack is a musical playground. Drag an instrument device into the Rack and start playing immediately. Add devices underneath your instrument like audio effects and everything is automatically connected and routed together. If you like building custom instrument and effect chains, you’ll love diving deeper into Reason’s Combinator where your custom device creations can be saved, programmed for your own macro controls, and even configured to have your own custom front panel with knobs, faders, and buttons of your own choosing and your own positioning.

If you love experimenting with modular synthesis and open-ended signal routing, then Reason’s Rack has another advanced dimension for you as well – the back of the Rack where devices can be cabled together using audio jacks and modular control voltage cables to modulate signals from device to device. The back of the Rack is a true “if you can dream it, you can build it” canvas to explore. But if you’re a front-of-the-rack type of music maker, you’ll appreciate that Reason devices auto-route while you focus on what truly matters: the music.

With a multi-gigabyte supply of synth sounds, sampled instruments, drum kits, loops and effects, Reason's built-in sound bank comes packed with everything you need to make any style of music. The integrated browser helps you quickly find and try thousands of sounds across a huge sound library.

Reason is a Plugin

Reason 12’s devices are available to users of every DAW running as a VST3, AU, and AAX plugin. Running Reason as a plugin inside your DAW of choice doesn’t only offer the flexibility to take the Reason Rack wherever you want to take your music making. Reason can interact with other plugins to supercharge them in ways never before possible.

Reason’s Player MIDI effects are a wholly unique take on musical creativity and experimentation. By transforming incoming notes on your keyboard or by generating their own notes, chords, or drum patterns Reason’s Players have become favorites of the Reason Rack. Reason’s Players can now be set up in your DAW to control other plugins in your DAW, bringing the power of Reason’s Players to every instrument plugin you own!

Adding the Reason Rack Plugin Effect atop your DAW’s mix channels means tapping into Reason’s powerful mix-polishing audio effects. To get that big studio sound, the Channel EQ, Channel Dynamics, and legendary Master Bus Compressor devices have been faithfully modeled after the elite SSL 9000k* mixing desk at the center of the world’s top studios. If you want to dirty up your mix channels in the best sense of the word, try out the Audiomatic Retro Transformer’s selection of coloration and tonal shaping effects.

Don’t Already Have a DAW?

No problem! Running Reason 12 as a standalone software doesn’t just mean you can access the same powerful Reason Rack and the same vast collection of devices. Reason standalone includes its own sequencer and professional mixer, meaning you can bring your ideas to life from exploring new sounds to fully polished, mixed, and mastered songs ready for sharing with friends and fans.

Expanding The Reason Rack

While Reason comes with a sizable collection of instruments and effects devices already, some of us are always looking for even more creative options and the inspiration that comes from exploring something new. When you’re ready, Reason’s Rack is expandable with Rack Extensions. Rack Extensions additional Rack device plugins built by some of the top instrument and effects developers around the world – from modern effects to vintage instruments and everything in between.

Instruments & Effects

Use your ears!

These instruments and effects are all included in Reason. You can combine them any way you want in the Rack to create the perfect sound for what you want to express. Some of these may look complicated at first – but don’t worry. Nothing can break. Just use your ears and try stuff out!

Europa - Shapeshifting Synthesizer

A wavetable synth at heart; Europa is the most powerful, most modern and biggest sounding synth for your next track and the many more to come. The heart of Europa is its three spectral wave engines, where waveforms are loaded and warped through traditional wavetable sweeps and spectral waveform modifiers. Add to that a set of unique spectral filters, customizable envelopes, fantastic effects and more and you’ll be ready to realize that Europa isn’t just the greatest synth to arrive in Reason. It’s the greatest synth to arrive. Period.

Thor - Polysonic Synthesizer

Where other synths use one specific form of synthesis and one single filter, the Thor polysonic synthesizer features six different oscillator types and four unique filters. What does this give you? An unstoppable monster of a sound generator, Thor utilises synthesizer technology from the last 50 years. With its unique selection of oscillator types and filter designs, the Thor Polysonic Synthesizer is a veritable synth museum. But there’s nothing dusty about this instrument. Thor may have one foot in history, but its sound is pure future.

Monotone - Bass Synthesizer

For all the bass heads out there, here’s Monotone: a monophonic supply of speaker rattling low-end. Monotone has a deep and big sound but is inviting and easy to work with. No hidden menus or cryptic controls. Everything you need is at your fingertips when you want it. Monotone is also the bass synth in Reason Compact for iOS. Start your basslines on Reason Compact and scale up your production on your Desktop – Monotone seamlessly integrates into your workflow.

Subtractor - Polyphonic Synthesizer

Similar in layout of the analogue flagship synths of the early 80s, the Subtractor makes it easy to create anything from warm pads to rumbling bass. A unique feature of the Subtractor Synthesizer is the oscillator phase offset. By using this feature you can create complex waveforms by subtracting or multiplying a waveform with a phase offset copy of itself. This analogue type polyphonic synthesizer is based on subtractive synthesis, the method used in classic, analogue synthesizers.

Kong - Drum Designer

Kong Drum Designer is not your regular drum module. It’s the drum module focused on giving you exactly that drum sound you’re after. Kong has 16 pads and 16 drums. Build your drum sounds based on any of the nine different drum modules. Flavour the sound with 11 support generators and effects. Program automation, create alternating groups and let Reason’s powerful sequencer drive the beat.

Radical Piano - Advanced Acoustic Piano

Radical Piano will change the way you use pianos in your music by allowing you to imagine a piano in a real space and set about creating it yourself through intuitive controls. Based on a custom blend between sampling technology and physical modelling algorithms, Radical Piano affords songwriters, producers, and sound designers an unprecedented level of control to craft a realistic piano that is 100% unique.

MIDI Out - Device

Play the sounds of your favourite hardware synths and beat machines within the Reason Rack. Sequence and automate your MIDI gear in Reason's sequencer, play in new ways with Players, or control any MIDI parameter with CV cables from any rack device.

When using Reason as a VST3/AU/AAX plugin, the MIDI Out Device communicates directly with the host. Build your own custom MIDI rack using Reason's devices and control any other plugin or external hardware in your DAW of choice.

Effects

Sweeper

Add more colour with this high quality, multi-talented modulation unit with expansive dynamic modulation options. Sweeper offers three separate stereo modulation effects: phaser, flanger and filter. The pristine-sounding phaser offers up to a whopping 40 stages for some extreme phasing sounds. The Flanger excels at the sweeping sounds you’d expect from it while the filter section is the oversampled filter from Europa with nine filter modes. To breathe life into the effect, Sweeper has a modulator with a looping envelope, an audio follower and audio trig to modulate just about any of Sweeper’s settings.

Master Bus Compressor

Reason’s trusted ready-for-radio bus compressor is now available as a rack device. The sound is identical to the Mixer’s master bus compressor, but the rack unit offers expanded CV control, dry/wet settings and the ability to apply the compressor magic anywhere in your signal chain. How would your drum mix sound with its own Master Bus Compressor?

The Echo

The Echo is an advanced stereo echo bringing together the brilliance of modern delays with the organic sounds of analogue circuitry and old-school tape machines. The Echo is equal parts pristine stereo delay, sound sculpturing toolbox, and playable performance effect. Add Delay, colour, modulations and triggers to your Rack. The Trigger and Roll modes let you play The Echo as an instrument, creating stutter and repeat effects on the fly.
