Spring Reverberator

Shake, Rattle, and Roll

A flexible spring reverb box-of-tricks. If you're familiar with Bazille, you might already have come across its built-in spring unit. We took that one, then modelled two more reverb tanks, paired it with drive section, filter stage, envelope, and mod matrix. It emulates a hand-picked selection of the most popular units you will find in classic guitar and instrument amplifiers, recreating the odd character of real springs.

Features

  • Shakeable springs
  • 3 different reverberation tanks, inspired by the most popular ones built in the guitar & instrument amps that made rock 'n roll
  • Tasty drive & tone stage for heating-up and colouring the sound
  • Multi-mode filter, with variable type blend
  • Four-flavours envelope stage, picking up the signal from either input, output or external sidechain
  • LFO module, 8 different types & waveforms, variable time base & syncable
  • Comprehensive modulation matrix, for realtime control of all the parameters
  • Independent input and feedback routing options allow all possible stereo or mono combinations
  • 76 factory presets, NKS-compatible
  • UI instantly resizable from 70% to 200%
  • Custom remote control via MIDI CC, 14-bit resolution option
  • As a faithful emulation of a mechanical device, Twangström needs to be handled well. Many of the technical parameters are user-adjustable in real time, and these can be controlled via MIDI or using the internal LFO and envelope generator. With its multimode resonant filter, Twangström is a unique and powerful tool which can deliver highly unusual, evolving textures... especially when the signal is tossed around using the modulation matrix!

  • The Reverb Tank

  • Often referred to as a tank, spring-reverberation devices typically incorporate several metal springs suspended in a metal case. The springs are excited using electromagnetic transducers. The principle is similar to a loudspeaker, except with a spring instead of the membrane. Sound waves travel across the spring to the opposite end, where another transducer converts the mechanical energy back into an electronic signal. A lot of the energy is reflected at both ends, but mechanical damping inherent in the system means that the the sound fades away naturally.

  • Several springs often share a transducer pair. In such cases, the transducer houses each spring’s cylindrical end-stop magnets, distributed evenly within the air gap (and enclosed by the laminated core, a stack of thin magnetic iron plates). Sharing a transducer pair minimizes mechanical and electric complexity, but the signals can only be treated as a whole. Tanks that can be operated in stereo require multiple transducers, and are therefore quite rare Of course you have them in Twangström! Some stereo systems had two complete tanks.

  • A transmission spring follows a principle physicists call the spring-mass system, and you might recall classroom experiments in which a weight was attached to a hanging spring, making it oscillate at a certain frequency. Apart from the external mass, the physical properties of the spring (material, length, wire gauge, number & diameter of coils) have a great effect on the vibration and transmission of sound. The longer the spring, the lower the frequency at which it oscillates. Longer springs also decay more slowly than short ones, as more windings result in more kinetic energy potentially stored.

  • Typically, reverb tanks with multiple springs are chosen for unequal delay times. Ratios based on prime numbers help in achieving dense reverb by strictly avoiding repetitive echo pattens. In a reverberation tank, the rigid suspension mounts at both ends act as a constant mass, thus damping the spring's energy. But upon vibration, some of the energy is transferred to the other parts. In a multiple-spring arrangement, all springs share a common mounting plate, so vibration becomes an interactive process. As a result, springs interchange their wave fronts and the sound becomes more washy with each reflection.

  • If there were no mechanical coupling involved, a minimum (static) density could be achieved by choosing suitable delay times, but there would be no buildup of echoic complexity. In real tanks a certain degree of coupling is always present, so we made it switchable in Twangström. In certain setups the echo-density buildup has another cause: the division of the spring into shorter segments. For instance, at first glance the popular Accutronics Type 4 tank appears to be two springs, but is actually four: Each sub-system comprises two springs with a small joint in between. What happens there is pretty much the same as at the suspension end of normal systems: Waves are partially reflected while most of the wavefront is passed on to the next spring. These joints seldom divide the two springs perfectly, and this fact helps spread the echos around, making the reverb tail more diffuse.

  • Shakeable Springs

  • Hitting your computer won’t make Twangström shatter, so we added a twang control. This is used to shake the springs, either manually or through modulation and automation. You might think this is a gimmick for which you have no further use (apart from waking up the neighbours), but if you modulate it slightly, everything comes to life!

  • Tank Controls

  • Twangström's reverb is based on physical modelling. As opposed to plug-ins based on impulse responses (IR), our approach mimics the physics of mechanical reverberation. By simulating the wavefront travelling through a medium, we can include all the aspects of excitation, reflection, dispersion, interference, and other audio properties. Twangström does not mimic the sonic result, but simulates the physical device. This means that all dimensions of the device are controllable in realtime, on a per-sample-basis – which all boils down to quite some power at your fingertips!

  • The envelope in Twangström features 4 different modes and can pick up the signal from either input, output or external sidechain. You can select between Envelope Follower, Attack and Decay, Attack and Release, or Cyclic modes. The last one is similar to a 2-stage LFO. Shown controls will adapt to the selected mode, with Threshold not appearing while in Envelope Follower mode.

  • Modulation Matrix

  • The modulation matrix has three general purpose modulation slots, and yes, you can select shake as one of many targets to modulate the Twang control!

  • Low Frequency Oscillator

  • The LFO features different time bases, including a non-synchronized one measured in seconds. Synchronized options include both dotted times and triplets. There are 8 different waveforms to choose from, with 2 of them being stepped or glide random shapes.

Oracle

Reverb by SoundSpot

Images

Description

A great sounding reverb is arguably one of the most important factors in achieving a full and atmospheric mix, and with that in mind, the SoundSpot® team set out to create a reverb that can deliver to the demands of modern production. After many months of development, we are proud to announce the arrival of the Oracle Algoverb.

The Oracle is a one stop shop for all your creative reverb needs and can be used on any sound source to great effect. From adding a sense of depth to piano melodies to making synthesised soundscapes sound huge, the Oracle has it covered.

Features:

  • Intuitive, easy to navigate user interface
  • Designed to work flawlessly with touch controllers such as the Raven by Slate Media
  • Stereo imaging controls for accurate placement in the stereo field
  • Analogue style compressor with visual waveform feedback
  • Bandpass filter to sculpt the sound and remove unwanted frequencies
  • LFO effect to create movement to the amplitude of the signal
  • Flanger effect to keep your reverbs interesting
  • Saturation effect to add warmth or distortion to the signal
  • Preset manager to save & share your own reverb designs

Reverb

As modern music can be a highly complex affair, with the layering of software instruments common place in most productions, the need for a CPU efficient reverb is increasingly important. As impulse response reverbs, otherwise known as convolution reverbs can be highly CPU intensive, we decided that developing an algorithmic reverb was the way to go, and set out to create a signal that was sonically pleasing, but lightweight and versatile.

We happily succeeded in the DSP department but felt there must be a better way to visualise the signal, so we created the Sinescope. The Sinescope reacts to the signal in a way that sound waves would if they were reflecting off a surface, with the initial wave dissipating over time. The Sinescope visualisation allows you to monitor the tail of the reverb, and make accurate mixing decisions based on other sounds in the mix.

Imaging

Having a great sounding reverb is a wonderful thing, but things can quickly become messy when the available space in the stereo field is limited, so it’s important to have the tools to place the reverb signal in the perfect place. With this in mind, we included our best selling mono/stereo maker algorithm which allows you to narrow or widen the reverb, depending on your goals. But we didn’t stop there. We realise that once you have the perfect width, you will need to pinpoint a position in the stereo field with the reverb, so we included our best selling mid/side panning algorithm as well, to help you get the precision placement you need.

Filter-Cut

No reverb would be complete without the ability to shave off areas of the signal to prevent muddying the mix, so we included the analogue style filters from our Overtone plugin to remove any unwanted frequencies without affecting the original signal. The filter section allows you to select the low and high-frequency range with slope controls from 12dB to 48dB octave and also see visual feedback from the spectrum analyser.

Saturation

Saturation is that age old technique that adds that little something extra to your sounds, and as many producers add saturation after the reverb on their signal chain, we felt it only right to include this into the Oracle. But we haven’t added just any saturation… We’ve taken the same algorithm found in our powerful Halcyon plugin along with the unique FFT graph which clearly displays the additional processed signal in the red graph. We’ve also included the attack and release parameters, so you can have hard distortion to warming and everything in between.

LFO

Adding movement to your sounds will keep listeners tuned in and engaged with your music. After this feature was so well received on our Halcyon plugin, we decided to experiment with LFO and reverb, and we’re so glad we did. The LFO function auto syncs with your DAW, as can do everything from gradually build the reverb signal over time giving a sense of tension and anticipation to your sounds, to ducking the kick drum keeping your mix tight and atmospheric. The LFO feature has 4 wave shapes which can be inverted to produce a variation to the effect, whilst the time sync ranges from 1/32 to 32 bars, so there’s a setting for all requirements. The range control allows you to choose the depth of the effect, from pumping to subtle.

Flanger

The flanger combined with the other effects in the Oracle, allows you to really make something unique. This effect can be used to add a unique touch to your sound and works especially well on percussive instruments and sound effects. You’ll find familiar controls of rate, depth, feedback and mix, along with the ability to switch between mono and stereo. Plus the visual display allows you to see what the effect is doing.

Compressor

Last but not least is the compressor settings. We knew that most producers add a compressor after their reverb insert to help make the signal more audible in a busy mix, so we added a compressor with a visual display that allows users to actually see what is happening to the waveform.

Simply pull down the threshold bar to the desired level and adjust the ratio, attack & release to see in real-time how the sound is being altered. The grey area shows the amount of compression taking place, making it simple and accurate to dial in just the right amount of makeup gain.

Toraverb 2

Reverb by D16 Group

Images

Description

A concept ‘verb, come alive

Toraverb was never meant to be an emulation, approximation or recreation. D16 did not implement any "off-the-shelf" algorithm or impulse response. Unlike a classic unit such as spring, room, hall or plate, Toraverb is a concept in its own right. Using a set of easily accessible parameters, Toraverb allows the user to create practically ANY type of algorithmic reverb. D16's goal was to create something which would sound beautiful no matter where the knobs are.

Reverb is a critical effect in a mix. A good digital reverb depends on the algorithms used and their implementation quality. Usually, reverb is used as a send effect in which many channels in a mix are routed to it. If a poorly designed plug-in or hardware unit is used, the end result is tinnier/muddier mixes, with reverb tails sounding like they’re being torn off inhumanely.

The Utmost Diffusion Quality

In Toraverb, D16 designed a diffusing network of the highest possible quality based on modified all-pass filters and implemented fine-tuned parameters, eliminating almost all unwanted flutter echo effects across diverse sound sources. That’s fancy talk for “ D16 made it smooth and easy to tweak.”

Two Parametric EQs

Toraverb has two independent, single-band, fully parametric equalizers; one for each reflection engine. With low shelf, peak and high shelf options, they become incredibly useful in shaping the colouration and character of the reverb as well as intentionally sustaining certain frequencies in your source.

Modulated Tail

Toraverb also has an additional modulation parameter, which affects the diffusing network. These are responsible for the distribution of the sound waves reflections in time. By changing the modulation, the sound of the reverb tail can be altered to give a more realistic effect of sound propagation. Modulation amount is controlled independently for early and late reflections.

Realistic Cross-Talk

To give an even better impression of physical space, D16 added an innovative spatial reflection algorithm to Toraverb. This improves spatial reflections by interjecting some reflected stereo waves between both stereo channels. This models what happens in the real world when a single, localized sound source is reflected and becomes audible to both ears, allowing for spatial localisation as well as a heightened sense of realism.

Early, Late-ish, Hall & Plate-ish

A quick, convenient blend between Early and Late reflections. Now with balance parameters, for both reflection types, working in Left / Right or Mid / Side modes allows for retro reverb panning, or mono’ing your low-frequency early reflections while widening your longer, high-mid tails!

Built-in Ducker

Essential functionality in most studio situations. Toraverb features a built-in ducker, which compresses the FX signal's amplitude proportionally to the loudness of dry/unprocessed input, thus saving an overall output signal energy. Such a tool built into the plug-in is a real time-saver for any music producer or studio engineer. No need to employ any additional side-chain compression unit into your fx chain and simplify this aspect of use to the minimum.

  • High-quality diffusion network.
  • Pre-delay with optional tempo sync.
  • Reverb's tail modulation (with independent control for Early and Late reflections).

Eos 2

Reverb by Audio Damage

Images

Description

Eos 2.0 was a massive update our Eos algorithmic reverb. For version 2.1 we rebuilt Eos from bare metal, increasing stability and compatibility across all platforms. The all-new user interface is fresher looking as well as more amenable to touch control. This, combined with its new preset management makes Eos 2.1 a breeze to use.

Choose!

Eos 2 consists of four high-quality reverb algorithms, custom-designed for us by ValhallaDSP with the modern production environment in mind. Three different plate simulators and the Superhall algorithm deliver a broad palette of reverb flavours.

Control!

With its entirely procedural, resizable GUI, Eos offers understated beauty and an excellent user experience that adapts to your visual needs. With version 2.1, Eos not only looks coherent across all platforms, but its slick preset manager also enables you to use and share your creations across hosts and devices. It just works.

Shape!

Eos 2’s controls put you in the driver’s seat. Want a traditional dark plate reverb? Eos can do that. How about a short, dense room sound for your drum buss? Not a problem. Where Eos really comes into its own is when you drop Superhall on your piano or synthesizer tracks. The incredibly long modulated hall sounds of Eno-style ambience are where Eos thrives, something that is not possible with convolution ‘verbs.

Filter!

Eos 2’s EQ section offers precise control over the spectral character of your reverb. The addition of crossover controls makes its algorithms more flexible than ever. From surgical adjustments to the experimental - it’s all right there at your fingertips. Want boomy bass and sizzling top-end? We’re not telling you to do that. But you can!

Features

  • Bespoke Reverb Algorithms: Eos includes four high-quality, studio-grade custom-designed reverb algorithms: Three different plate simulators and the Superhall algorithm for expansive dense and rich reverbs with gentle modulation.
  • Flexible Sound Shaping: Eos' reverb parameters (pre-delay, diffusion/density, size, attack and decay), offer precise control over the plugin’s spatial characteristics.
  • Modulation: Rate and depth controls apply time-varying changes to the delay lines within the reverberators, making the effect sound more realistic when used gently and otherworldly at extreme settings.
  • Filtering and Frequency Shaping: On top of a pair of simple EQ filters (low cut and high cut) at the reverberators' inputs, Eos allows the user to adjust the way in which high and low frequencies decay, altering the tonal quality of the reverb tail.
  • Infinite Decay: The reverberators' decay time can be set to infinity, freezing any input signal, somewhat like a looped sample. A setting suited to creating unusual effects, providing ample sound design possibilities.
  • Mix and Lock: Adjust the balance between the dry input and the effect signal. With the LOCK button engaged, the Mix parameter will not change when loading presets.
  • Mono In, Stereo Out: Eos can be used in a mono-in/stereo-out or stereo-in/stereo-out context. It creates a stereo reverb output even if the input signal is mono
  • Fully Resizable Hi-Dpi/Retina GUI: Eos 2’s vector-based GUI is resolution-agnostic, and displays the same on every system and resolution. Easily resize the UI (per instance) to match your visual needs, from postage stamp to poster-sized.

Little Plate

Reverb by Soundtoys

Images

Description

Electromechanical Reverb

The lush sound of plate reverb – with a modern twist.

The unmistakable plate reverb sound – warm, rich and spacious – is now at your fingertips.

Inspired by the original EMT 140 plate reverb, we captured the gorgeous sound and vibe of this studio classic and turned it into a fun and musically inspiring plug-in. And we couldn’t resist pushing the limits of reality, so we added a couple of fun twists that let you take Little Plate to spaces the original hardware only dreamed of.

Simple Control, Infinite Possibilities

Once we recreated the iconic 140 sound, we couldn’t resist going even further.

While the original reverb could only muster a modest five seconds of reverberation time, we pushed that number higher. A lot higher. With Decay Time set to infinity, Little Plate’s reverb tails never fade away.

Cut the Clutter

Keep your reverb and your mixes clean with the built-in Low Cut filter.

Sometimes the low-frequency build-up in reverbs can get a little out of control. Use the Low Cut control to tame those boomy bass frequencies.

Space Modulator

Flip the Mod switch to introduce slight modulation into the reverb tail.

These subtle and chaotic variations can result in a thicker and smoother sound, especially at long decay times on pitched instruments like keys, guitar, and voice.

Heavy Vibes

At Soundtoys, we’ve got a reputation for obsessing over legendary hardware. But when we decided to build our first reverb plug-in, we went farther than ever before. We collected five EMT 140s from around the country and gathered them in our lab.

We tuned them up. We teched them out. We went to the chiropractor (that’s one and a half tons of plate reverb). Then we took our time listening and testing, zeroing in on a sound that we think captures the classic EMT 140 vibe. Warm, rich, spacious and slightly dark, Little Plate packs the essence of plate reverb into one little plug-in that won’t break your back.

A Little Plate History

The EMT 140 uses a magnetic transducer to vibrate a massive sheet of metal, sending the result back to the engineer via a pickup that captures the resulting reverberation.

The EMT 140 was introduced in 1957 and was capable of dense and smooth reverberation unlike anything the world had heard. While it doesn’t exactly sound like a real room, it has a beauty of its own, which is why plate reverb is still such a sought-after sound even many decades later. 140s are getting hard to find though, and replacement parts even harder. Not to mention their sheer size and weight keep them out of reach of the average studio.

Features

  • Add the sound of vintage plate reverb to your tracks
  • Push beyond the limits of the hardware with extended reverb decay time
  • Create infinite reverb effects that never decay
  • Optional modulation for natural-sounding variation in the reverb tail
  • Low Cut filter to tame low-frequency build-up
  • 25 distinct presets to quickly dial in a sound

miniVerb

Reverb by AudioThing

Images

Description

8-BIT / Chiptune Echo Reverb Effect

miniVerb is an 8-bit/chiptune and lofi reverb effect inspired by the sound of 80s game consoles and retro computers.

Early consoles didn’t have much power for DSP effects, so the video game composers at that time had to improvise. The most common way to add a sense of space/reverb to the sound was to sacrifice one of the internal tracks to play a delayed version of the original sound, essentially using a slapback echo to add depth.

The technique evolved and eventually, consoles started to take advantage of more power for real internal effects.

miniVerb recreates that classic digital echo/reverb sound, made famous by iconic consoles such as the NES and SNES, topping it with two flters (post/pre), vibrato, and crusher (bit crusher, downsampler, pitch shifter).

Echo Section and Tips

The Echo Section can be used to simulate the tricks used in early video game consoles to add a sense of space/reverb to the sounds.

The most common way was to sacrifice one of the internal tracks of the sound chip to play a delayed version of the original track, essentially creating a slapback echo effect.

To achieve this NES-like reverb sound, you can use a single delay line, very short time, no feedback, and width set to mono.

To simulate a 90s fake reverb/echo (like the SNES) instead, you can play with longer times and add some feedback to simulate a reverb tail.

For a more modern approach, you can switch the Echo to Double Delay Line by clicking on the blue button (in the top-left corner) and increase the width to a wider setting.

Classic Consoles

miniVerb was inspired by the sound of classic game consoles and retro computers of the 80s and 90s.

For even more 8-bit/chiptune sounds, check out our synthesizer plugin miniBit.

SP2016 Reverb

Reverb by Eventide

Images

Description

Reverb Time Machine

The SP2016 was the first programmable studio rack processor. It introduced the concept of the ‘plug-in’ to the pro audio world back in 1982, with actual EPROM chips that would be plugged in under the hood. Revered for its signature reverbs, the SP2016 was notably used by Dave Pensado, George Massenburg, Alan Sides, Roy Hendrickson, Jack Douglas, and Mick Guzauski.  The lush reverb can be heard on countless hit records by Talking Heads, Adele, Mariah Carey, Eminem, and more. Now, 36 years later, this signature sound is available for your DAW.

Six Distinct Reverbs

The SP2016 reverbs have attracted a loyal user base by using a particular blend of art and science - the end result is an effect that sounds natural and distinctive. The plug-in includes authentic emulations of Room, Stereo Room, and High-Density Plate algorithms, each available in two versions: Vintage and Modern. The Vintage algorithms are true to the original box, all the way down to the bit-depth. The Modern algorithms are brighter, more diffuse, and use a higher bit-depth.

The algorithms naturally emulate every aspect of the sound of a real physical environment – from the complex early reflections to the natural way in which the echo density increases with time, to the smooth Gaussian decay of the reverb tail. It’s a powerful simulation that lends itself to parametric control.

Sitting in the Mix

With the unique Position control, the ability to make a reverb effect that sits perfectly in your mix is as easy as moving one slider. This powerful tool allows you to take your listeners from the back of the room all the way to the stage while retaining all of your other settings.

Features

  • Room - Your basic no-nonsense, no-frills ambient “room.” It’s a mono effect with stereo outputs. The extreme Pre-Delay range makes it possible to use this effect for reverberant doubling and single echoes.
  • Stereo Room - Recreates the ambience of a large concert hall, with very clear, natural reverberation. It's characteristically natural and shines on instruments where a natural sound is a desire - like vocals, drums, acoustic guitar, strings, and horns
  • Hi-Density Plate - Plate-type reverb with dual pickups simulating the effect of a bigger, heavier plate. This reverb allows you to make vocals, guitars and percussive instruments appear much bigger and brighter than they actually are.
  • Control the structure of the reverb by fine-tuning the controls - including PreDelay, Decay, Position and Diffusion. The EQ section allows for simple high and low filtering of the reverb with adjustable filter ranges. The low filter can be used to cut OR boost at the specified frequency.
  • Boasts a variety of artist presets including some by Dave Pensado, Richard Devine, Joe Chiccarelli, Sasha, George Massenberg, The Butcher Bros., Buda and Grandz, and more.
  • Reinventing a Classic

  • Classic gear stands the test of time. The sound of the hardware is the result of a combination of the DSP processing and the analog audio circuitry. Painstakingly modelling every aspect of these hardware units was neither quick nor easy, but now the must-have sonic beauty of these classic reverbs is available for your use in-the-box or live.

Polaris

Reverb by Audiority

Description

Early Digital Echo & Reverb with Shimmer

Polaris is an echo/reverb plugin inspired by early hardware digital reverbs of the late 1970s and able to provide echo, ambience and reverb out of a single multitap delay line.

When hardware digital reverbs came out to the market they were really expensive. Most manufacturers were already exploiting chains of comb and all-pass filters (smoother reverbs, but expensive in both resources and chips), there were other techniques involving the use of a single multitap delay line to create a reasonable reverb while keeping the cost affordable.

That idea is so simple yet powerful: you mix a bunch of unmodulated taps (Early Reflections) with the remaining modulated taps (Diffusion) to create a cheap but convincing reverb.

We extended this technique by making the Echo tap recirculating with the Diffusion section, allowing longer reverb tails. Furthermore, you can easily edit all taps to create your own room responses, resonant combs, Karplus-like tuned delay lines, Chorus, Flanging, Vibrato and much more.

From v1.1 we introduced new features like Shimmer, internal Sample Rate reduction (useful to get a vintage digital sound) and Stereo Width (Ping Pong delay).

From v1.3 we introduced a Swell feature that will smooth the transients of the incoming signal, with its attack time automatically matching the delay time. This new feature works great for ambient guitars, intense endless pads and much more.

From v1.5 we introduced Pre-Delay, Modulation Boost and a 3 Band Feedback Equalizer on the new Echo editor page.

Verberate 2

Reverb by Acon Digital

Images

Description

Verberate 2 with the Revolutionary Vivid Hall Algorithm

When it comes to reverb, it’s all about the sound quality. Verberate is an algorithmic reverb plug-in that simulates real acoustical surroundings with exceptional realism. The first Verberate version already raised the bar. Version 2 introduces the Vivid Hall algorithm that adds time variance to avoid the stiffness that plagues convolution based reverbs while preserving the natural high-density reverb tails of Verberate 1.

Real acoustical surroundings will have slight variations due to air currents, moving performers or movements in the audience. While these variations may seem subtle, the effect towards the end of the reverb tail is significant, since the sound is reflected a large number of times before the reverb tail fades out. The new Vivid Hall algorithm models these random variations without artifacts like chorus effects or pitch changes, and is therefore capable of simulating reverberation of real halls with a higher degree of realism.

The decay editor makes it possible to sculpt the reverb tails by setting up frequency-dependent reverb times. There is also a powerful output equalizer integrated.

Another new feature is the ability to better simulate mechanical plate reverbs. High frequencies travel faster in metal plates than low frequencies, and this effect is called frequency dispersion. Verberate 2 now has a Dispersion parameter which allows for highly realistic plate reverb simulations when combined with the decay editor to simulate the longer high-frequency decay of plate reverbs. A new Swirl parameter makes it possible to simulate the feedback modulation effect found in many vintage digital reverb units.

The 15 early reflection patterns offered are algorithmic, calculated in real-time and applied using convolution. A dense and resonance-free late reverb tail follows the early reflections, resulting in extremely convincing room simulations with impressive depth combined with the flexibility algorithmic reverbs are known for.

A large catalogue of beautiful factory presets is delivered with Verberate 2 and a clear and to-the-point graphical user interface simplifies the search for a specific reverb quality.

Highlights

  • Highly realistic simulation of real acoustical spaces and mechanical plates
  • The new time-variant Vivid Hall algorithm goes beyond convolution
  • Powerful decay editor allows frequency dependent reverb times
  • Versatile integrated output equalizer

  • Two different late reverb algorithms: The new Vivid Hall and the Legacy Hall from version 1
  • Vivid Hall is time-variant and resonance-free
  • Independent early reflections and reverberation tail processors
  • True stereo processing
  • Realistic early reflections that blend into the mix without unpleasant comb filter effects

Lush reverb for surround and immersive formats

Our lush, colourful reverb engine gets a 24-channel upgrade in Symphony 3D, bringing rich modulation and dynamics effects to any surround music or post production. With channel-specific Balance controls and an expanded Warp section with Compression and Overdrive modules, Symphony 3D combines the creative power of R4 and R2 Surround while pushing their capabilities even further.

The ultimate tool for lush, musical multichannel reverb

Symphony 3D is Exponential Audio’s flagship reverb offering. The character reverb engine of Symphony receives 24-channel surround support, making it perfect for crafting distinct, captivating spatial effects for any multichannel music or post projects. Springs

Reverb by AudioThing

Images

Description

Vintage Spring Reverb + Baxandall EQ

Springs is a plugin which features a collection of vintage spring reverbs paired with an authentic Baxandall EQ emulation. Springs features emulations from 8 types of spring reverbs, ranging from a long 6-spring pipe to a tiny battery-powered single-spring unit. We have used a combination of convolution and modelling to recreate the vintage character of each reverb.

Spring reverbs were usually paired with tone stacks from guitar amplifiers. Springs features one of the most iconic and unique sounding tone stack equalizers: the Baxandall EQ. A classic Baxandall tone stack usually features just the bass and treble bands, but we have also added a Mid band (with control over the Q).

Baxandall EQ

The Baxandall EQ is a classic type of EQ, mostly found in guitar amps, and usually limited to just a single tone control or two bands (bass and treble). We have added a third band (mid with Q control) to shape the reverb sound further.

One important characteristic of the Baxandall EQ is that the bands interact with each other. This may seem like an unwanted behaviour, but it’s one of the reasons why the Baxandall EQ curves are smooth and musical.

Bandwidth

While with the Baxandall EQ you can shape the sound of the mix (dry+wet) or just the wet signal, with the Bandwidth control you can filter the input signal that goes into the spring emulation.

Some springs have a boomy low end, some are too bright and boingy. By limiting the bandwidth of the signal you can dampen these characteristics.

Features

  • 8 Vintage Spring Reverbs
  • Baxandall EQ (three bands)
  • 50 Presets
  • Resizable Window
  • Preset system with randomizer
  • New 1.1.5 version Changelog 31/10/19

  • Added: macOS 10.15 Catalina support
  • Added: Editor Bypass button and Reverb Length
  • Improved: Editor Parameters (Start and Fade In are now non-linear, Fade Out and Curves are now reversed)
  • Improved: Spring Models browsing (navigation arrows instead of popup menu)
  • Improved: Reverb Tail cleaning
  • Fixed: Minor graphics glitches

Description

Experience the Revolutionary Vivid Hall Algorithm in 3D

Verberate Immersive 2 is a surround and 3D capable edition of Verberate 2 — our algorithmic reverb plug-in that simulates real acoustical spaces with exceptional realism. Verberate Immersive 2 replaces Verberate Surround and supports all common surround and immersive formats up to 7.1.6 channels. The new Vivid Hall algorithm adds time variance to avoid the stiffness that plagues convolution-based reverbs while preserving the natural high-density reverb tails of Verberate Surround 1.

Verberate Immersive 2 was developed in close cooperation with professionals in film and TV post-production. Great efforts were made to create a tool that not only delivers best-in-class audio quality but also delivers results quickly through a well thought out workflow. Verberate Immersive 2 offers complete and independent control over the panning of the dry sound, late reverberation and early reflections. The panners work in up to three dimensions and have adjustable divergence. The pan positions and divergences are visualized and adjusted in an intuitive way, thus simplifying the automation of complex movements.

The decay editor resembles a fully parametric equalizer and allows you to set frequency-dependent reverb times quickly and effortlessly. Additionally, there are integrated and fully parametric input and output equalizers, each with five bands.

A large catalogue of beautiful factory presets is delivered with Verberate Immersive 2. A search button allows you to find the desired preset quickly. A clear and to-the-point graphical user interface simplifies the search for a specific reverb quality.

EAReverb 2

Reverb by eaReckon

Images

Description

EAReverb 2 is a 100% algorithmic reverb plug-in (32/64-bit VST2, VST3, AU, AAX).

It features the “Natural” core engine of the original EAReverb but also brings a plethora of new algorithms and functionalities accessible from a totally revised user interface.

Compared to the former EAReverb which focuses on simulating natural environments, EAReverb 2 can then be considered as a more holistic answer to your reverb needs.

SIX DIFFERENT ALGORITHMS

Natural (XXS>XTREM): Formerly conceived for the original EAReverb, this algorithm provides smooth and natural results by avoiding metallic artefacts and by offering an adjustable level of subtle randomness in the late reverb.

Bright: Compared to “Natural”, using Bright is like adding carbon dioxide to source water.
Just consider high frequencies as bubbles and you will get the idea of what can be obtained from this algorithm.

Alu Box: This one provides a tamed and metallic sounding reverb as what you might expect from a spacecraft or an empty metal tank.

Auditorium: Auditorium is the most extended version of the original EAReverb core algorithm. It offers a wide range of possibilities from natural to artificial results. It features “bright” and (perceived) “distance” parameters.

Plate: A mono to stereo algorithm featuring bright and modulated characteristics of some classic high quality reverb units.

Reverse: A synchronisable reverse algorithm that provides the “whoosh” effect some are in quest of.

THREE OPERATION MODES

PRO Mode: gives access to all parameters and modules.

SE Mode: a limited but easy and fast alternative interface to the PRO mode.

POS Mode: provides specific tools that will help you to dynamically set the location of incoming sounds in the space simulated by EAReverb 2.

MConvolutionMB

Reverb by MeldaProduction

Images

Description

MConvolutionMB is a zero-latency convolution plugin that's ideal for processing recorded, or generated impulse responses (IRs). It is simply perfect for simulating halls, rooms, boxes, microphones, and even other plugins! It also contains filter generators and an integrated reverb.

Features

  • File manager with automatic stitching - integrated file manager explores the internal IR library or the global file system letting you choose from your own impulse response libraries. The plugin loads WAV, FLAC and MP3 files, recognizes even multichannel waves and combines multiple files together for multichannel usage with several topologies such as true-stereo. Length of the impulse responses is only limited by your computing power.
  • Integrated reverbation and filter generator - besides loading IRs, the plugin can generate some. This covers a few types of reverbs with several adjustable parameters and a filter generator usable for some technical operations.
  • 2 impulse response per band with modulation - each band can have 2 IR generators of any type, file, reverb or filter, and using a simple slider you can control ratio between these two to create extremely realistic dynamic reverbs. By attaching the slider to one of the modulators you can easily make this process completely automatic yet extremely versatile.
  • 1-6 fully configurable independent bands built on 3 perfectly transparent crossover algorithms (analog, linear-phase and hybrid) with fully adjustable limits and input gains. Includes peak meters for all bands and the master.
  • 4 global modulators - in each instance you can have up to 4 fully-featured modulators that can modulate any set of parameters including other modulators! In this way you can make the sound move in time, be less static and more interesting. Each modulator works as LFO, follower, midi/audio triggered ADSR envelopes, a pitch detector or even a combination.
  • Up to 8 channels surround processing - our plugins can handle not only mono and stereo signals, but also up to 8 channels of surround audio, making them ideal for audio production for movies, games etc.
  • Extremely advanced and easy-to-use user interface - our products are always designed to enhance the workflow. You can easily change all values, fine-tune each control in multiple ways. Easy orientation in a standardized GUI, textual editing and smooth visualization with almost unlimited zooming are standard in all of our plugins. Moreover our plugins are the world first (and still the only ones), which support resizable and stylable GUI's.
  • Automatic synchronization to host tempo - every oscillator and modulator in the plugin can automatically synchronize to the host providing as natural a sound as possible while not offending other tracks.
  • MIDI controllers with MIDI learn - you can map any parameter to any MIDI controller or MIDI keyboard and control it realtime or record and automate it.
  • 64-bit processing and an unlimited sampling rate, recommended maximum is 384kHz.
  • Very fast, optimized for SSE and SSE2 processors.
  • Global preset management and online preset exchange - using a title button you can save your settings (which are shared on the computer) so you can easily access these in other songs. Moreover all plugins can automatically share your presets and download presets of other users from our servers (if this feature is enabled). We are building a community and you can be a part of it!

First there is a simple default one with several predefined modes, but just a few controls, which lets you start quickly and easily without any knowledge. All you need to do is choose what you want and use a few knobs. And the plugins also has an advanced mode, which provides all the extreme features the plugin offers.
  • Spatial positioning system - using a simple view you can easily drag the sound source and MReverbMB will set all required parameters to make it sound like it is in the specified room and position.
  • Fully adjustable 3-band equalizer you can use to control the sound of the reverberation signal, hence the room sound. Each band can be configured to 7 different filter types, has harmonic control and much more.
  • Fully algorithmic and true stereo reverb - it does not need separate plate, hall, and room algorithms. Instead it has a huge set of intuitive parameters that allow you to easily emulate any given reverb characteristic. Anything from small rooms to extremely large halls with almost infinite reverb tails...
  • 1-6 fully configurable independent bands built on 3 perfectly transparent crossover algorithms (analog, linear-phase and hybrid) with fully adjustable limits and input gains. Includes peak meters for all bands and the master.
  • Continuously adjustable oscillator shape - every oscillator in our plugins is defined by a mix of predefined oscillator shapes, custom waveforms edited using our MeldaProduction Envelope System (MES), step-sequencer and several methods for algorithmic postprocessing. It is the most advanced approach for defining oscillator shapes.
  • Integrated tube saturation gives the sound a great vintage analog feel.
  • Full randomization - using a single button you can generate completely new settings. By clicking the button you can walk through the billions of possible settings and find the best one for you! And if that's too much, you can just hold ctrl and MReverbMB will only slightly modify existing settings.
  • Fully automatable.

Spring

Reverb by Eventide

Images

Description

The Classic Sound of a Spring Tank

Spring Reverb models the sound and character of popular spring reverb found in guitar amplifiers, popularized by Surf, Garage and Rockabilly music. Spring takes this a step further by allowing manipulation of physical parameters not normally available in a real spring tank. The results vary from faithful recreations of real springs to distinctive new sounds that push the physical boundaries of reverb.

This vintage reverb sound originally derived from the reflections of sound waves travelling through springs has been given an overhaul for the 21st century and beyond. Eventide Spring contains two different sized ‘spring tanks’ along with the ability to morph between one and three springs. Easily program The Ribbon to seamlessly transition between any two settings in real-time! The added tube-amp-style tremolo can be routed before or after the spring resulting in an unrivalled ability to craft your own unique reverb sound. Alter the intensity by changing the tremolo depth and adjust the tremolo rate in Hz, or note value when tempo-synced to your project.

Want more control of your tone? Spring has controls to independently manipulate the damping frequency for both the Low and High end. Get even more ring from your spring by adjusting the amount of metallic Resonance present in the High Damping frequency. Guitarists love the revered surfer vibe but all creative musicians will find that Spring makes any synthesizer, drum, or vocal stand out in a mix.

Features

  • Artist presets by Matt Lange, Nick Hook, and Nu-Trix.
  • Tempo Sync reverb decay to your DAW
  • Craft original sounds by changing the number of springs and damping frequency
  • Alter overall resonance by selecting the size of the spring tank
  • Tube-amp-style tremolo that can be routed pre- or post-reverb
  • Create chorus-like effects by altering Modulation Level
  • The Ribbon controller allows for dynamic modification of several knobs at once to easily morph between settings
  • Programmable Hotswitch provides ability to jump instantly to an alternate sound at the push of a button
  • Mac/Windows plug-in version works as VST, AU, AAX
  • Artist Presets

  • Spring Reverb was designed to give you extensive control, allowing you to craft your own signature sounds. The plug-in comes with a carefully curated set of presets that serve as a launch pad for your explorations including some by Eventide artists covering a wide range of musical styles.

EFEKTOR RV3604 Reverb

Reverb by Kuassa

Images

Description

Waves, Clouds, Sun, Lights, Ambiance, Space, Epic.

Efektor RV3604 Reverb comes with 5 different types of versatile reverbs, found on guitar pedals used on the greatest recordings of the century. RV3604 uses simpler controls so you can create roomy ambience, surfboard crashing waves, far-reaching space, sun-over-the-clouds moments and holy-lights-from-the-sky epicness.

Reverb is the most commonly used effect on every source of every recording. It can be found anywhere from small practice amps to big touring amps. It can also be found on stompbox pedal effects to large studio rack units. Its usage can be somewhat tricky, but reverb is often the fine border between a professional's recording and a beginner’s work. Reverb is a powerful tool to add depth, distance and also to build emotion for the listener. It gives ambience, creates space, and produces a sense of three dimensional to the original sound.

Taken the algorithms from the sounds of natural spaces to artificially created electrical and mechanical devices, Kuassa Efektor RV3604 Reverb provides five types of Reverb to enhance your recordings:

  • Room: Tight and fat roomy sound.
  • Hall: Big and wide concert space.
  • Plate: Simulated vibrating metal plate. Grainy and unique because the low frequency propagates slower than the high freq.
  • Spring: Simulating mechanical springs commonly found on guitar amps.
  • Shimmer: Haunting and atmospheric reverb, created by pitch-shifting the reverb tails.

Features

  • Epic sound quality with simplified controls. Dial fewer parameters and get great results instantly.
  • Separate Wet and Dry controls.
  • Photorealistic graphics for lifelike guitar playing experience.
  • Straightforward and easy to use interface.
  • Support up to 96000Hz Sample Rate.

EAReverb SE

Reverb by eaReckon

Images

Description

EAReverb SE is a True Stereo, 100% algorithmic reverb unit.
  • It does not use any IR files. Early reflections are built "on-the-fly".
  • However, switching from a preset to another will immediately put your music or sounds in a place that sounds as expected.

EAReverb SE provides a natural sounding, earthy reverb effect.

  • It is able to simulate the subtle reflections of a very small room as well as very large spaces.
  • It is suitable for music and sound design.
  • EAReverb SE has been designed and "fine tuned by ear" to sound the most possible natural.

What is the difference between EAReverb and EAReverb SE?

EAReverb SE features the same algorithms as EAReverb but provides far less controls and misses the “bounce” capability and the pre-delay host sync option of its big sister. It is aimed at musicians who just want to apply a great sounding reverb the easy way, without having to deal with a lot of parameters. That said, even advanced users (and EAReverb users who can get a free license of the SE version) may enjoy the ease-of-use of this “Starter Edition” in some situations. EAReverb SE is also a very affordable way to start with an intuitive high-quality reverb. And should you wonder whether you need the strengths and flexibility of EAReverb (original) or not, the fair upgrade path should make your initial choice as easy as the “Quick MBS” knob.

Features

  • Ultra-natural sounding reverb unit
  • 100% algorithmic
  • True stereo
  • Very easy to use
  • Affordable
  • Fair upgrade path to EAReverb.
  • Free for registered users of EAReverb.

AR1 Reverb

Reverb by Initial Audio

Images

Description

Quality Algorithmic Reverb Plugin

AR1 is an algorithmic reverb plugin designed to sound great on all types of instruments. AR1 sounds amazing on Pianos, Bells, Guitars, and Vocals, but also on more synthetic sounds like Synthesizer leads. Initial Audio have tweaked and tested for thousands of hours to get this sounding just right for any sound source you care to throw at it.

A Reverb plugin is used to make instruments sound like they are being played in a real place (Hall, Stadium etc), an algorithmic (ie realtime) reverb has to recreate this very convincingly or it will just sound “wrong” or fake. AR1 Reverb gives you the ability to create a space of your liking with very simple to use controls. Initial Audio want this to be your go-to plugin for quality reverberation. AR1 sounds great and is easy to use with a high definition interface that is pleasing to work with. Be sure to try the demo and see for yourself.

Features

  • Early Size: This controls the distance or size for any early reflections.
  • Early Level: Controls how much of an effect the Early size control has on the overall sound of the reverb.
  • Size: Increases the size of the reverb space, also has the effect of making the reverb tail last longer.
  • Width: Stereo width, at 0% the reverb will be completely mono, losing all stereo information. At 100% the reverb sounds as wide as possible in the stereo field.
  • Pre-delay: AR1 reverbs response is delayed by the pre-delay amount in milliseconds. This can give the effect of an even larger space or just sound more natural. Reflections of sound usually take some time to reach the ear.
  • Bandwidth: Reduces the amount of high frequencies in the reverb. This would make the reverb sound ‘softer’, imagine being in a space with soft furnishings and carpets, as opposed to say a kitchen or bathroom with lots of hard surfaces.
  • Damping: This controls how fast the high frequencies in the reverb dissipate over time. More damping will make the reverb sound softer and the overall reverb will appear to decrease in volume faster too. High damping means the reverb is absorbed very quickly by the room and doesn’t reverberate as much.
  • Modulation: Adds a little pitch modulation to the reverb tail.
  • Mix: Controls how much of the original audio is mixed with the reverberation. Set to 100% wet to get only the AR1 Reverb tail.

TSAR-1 Reverb

Reverb by Softube

Images

Description

The TSAR-1 Reverb is not an emulation. It's not a stock design. It's not a static snapshot of a space. The TSAR-1 is a powerful, modern reverb algorithm. It's alive and vibrant, it's gentle and dreamy, and above all - it's natural and believable. The TSAR-1 is the better-sounding alternative to the established, traditional reverb products. At a fraction of the price.

The True Stereo Algorithm inside the TSAR-1 is what gives it its magic. The strength lies in its sophisticated sound and versatility, no matter whether it's used on strings and brass or rock drums and lead vocals, it always shines. All this while still having a comprehensive and easy-to-use interface that is unparallelled in other high-end reverb products.

The TSAR-1 has been designed with ease of use in mind. Instead of a myriad of controls, we gave the user interface five sliders and a couple of switched options. But you may very well find you never need to use even these simple controls. Because we included a solid bank of presets, which will cover most of your needs. The presets are clearly named for their intended use, so find a setting you like, maybe tweak a little - and you're good to go.

In Short:

  • True Stereo Algorithm
  • Extraordinary versatility
  • Comprehensive user interface
  • Modern and powerful high-end reverb
  • Extensive preset library
  • Also includes the TSAR-1R Reverb

Features

  • Predelay Use it as a rhythmic effect or to carefully match the tail with the early reflections
  • Time Longer or shorter reverb tail. Where do you want to go today?
  • Density Smooth, modern and dense, or sparse, lush and vintage
  • Tone Dark or bright? No need to adjust dozens of knobs to get the character you need
  • High Cut Too much sizzle? Cut the highs
  • Early Reflections Type Large, Medium or Small? What room do you want to place your tracks in?
  • Early Reflections Mix Already got a good sounding room and just need some longer reverb? Turn down the earlies with the mix knob
  • Diffusion Need that extra smoothness on your snare?
  • Modulation A vintage style chorus-y modulation, or a modern and classy modulation?
  • Reverb Mix and Output Volume They just have to be there, right?
  • Interactive Display:

  • Show both current and previous settings, and toggle between those by clicking on each of the parameter value displays.
  • Extensive Preset Library:

  • 41 well designed presets, categorized into a "modern" and a "vintage" set. The modern set focuses on the classy reverb sounds of today, while the vintage set mimics the characters of old school reverbs we still love to use. All presets are well documented with examples of intended use cases.

Spring Reverb

Reverb by Softube

Images

Description

Spring Reverb is an authentic spring reverb recreation that will add vintage character and grit to any audio track. It also includes novel features such as a fully automatable Shake control that will shake the virtual springs around for those thunderous spring effects. Get some recognizable character in your mix with the Spring Reverb!

When your mix lacks that certain something, Softube's Spring Reverb may very well be it. A spring reverb is built into a lot of classic guitar amplifiers and is consequently often used for guitars. But you wouldn't do it justice to think a reverb of this type was limited to guitars only. It can add a lot of personality and character to a vocal track, a snare drum, percussion, an electric organ or just about anything. It's very much a sound of its own and it will help set your mix apart from the rest.

Plus, there's not only one spring reverb sound. We included a few settings so you can choose which spring reverb character you're after. The number of springs and their tension highly affects the sound and feel, so it's up to you to determine what your track needs. There are also tube-driven Bass and Treble controls to further affect the sound. And if you want that explosive boom you'll get from shaking a true spring reverb (making the springs bounce and slam into each other), we modeled that too.

Features:

  • Personality and character for your mix
  • Tension control to shape the spring character and reverb length
  • Number of spring pairs continuously adjustable from 1 to 3
  • Tube driver simulation with Bass and Treble in the reverb section
  • Shake control that shakes the springs around
  • Can be used both as a send and an insert effect
  • Very CPU friendly

Springs:

  • Control the number of springs in use. There are three sets of springs in the reverb unit and you can choose how many of the sets you would like to use. Set the control to ONE for a more pronounced springy sound and to THREE for a smoother sound.

Shake:

  • Since we don't want you to smack your computer to get that thunderous springs-being-shaken sound, Spring Reverb features a slider that can be used to accomplish the same thing safely.

Tension:

  • Tunes up or down the tension of all three springs. Adjusting the Tension parameter will change the sound of the strings from slow and smooth (left) to quick and harsh (right). Together with the Springs knob, this control is an excellent tool to change the overall character of the reverb.

Bass, Treble & the Input Stage:

  • Authentic tube simulation using the same technology as the Amp Room products on the wet signal.

Fog Convolver

Reverb by AudioThing

Images

Description

Fog Convolver is a convolution plugin that applies the sonic character of an impulse response to another sound in real time.

An impulse response is a recording of the output that is caused by an acoustic space or electronic gear when an impulse is played (electric spark, starter pistol shot or the bursting of a balloon).

Fog Convolver can be used to add reverberation, create special effects, and apply an acoustic impulse captured from audio equipment.

The factory bank features more than 250 impulse responses made from spaces, analog and digital equipment, speakers, organic sources, and more.

True Stereo

By clicking on the Mode box you can select two modes: Normal or True Stereo. True Stereo works by using two stereo impulse responses that are then mixed together.

You can either drag and drop two stereo files into the monitor (L+R) or you can drag separate stereo files (monitor top part for L, bottom for R).

True Stereo impulses are usually recorded simultaneously to capture a better stereo image, but you can also use two unrelated IRs to create experimental stereo reverbs.

  • Impulse Response Export (drag to DAW/export to WAV)
  • Preset Browser with customizable categories, tags, rating, …

Room Simulator

Plenty good room for everyone

Rum simulates different kinds of rooms – from acoustically treated studio booths to spaces found in an ordinary home. Think of this plug-in as if the audio source was recorded in stereo from the other side of the room, a common technique for recording acoustic instruments in order to breathe life into a dry sound source.

In addition to the ten multi-recorded rooms (with different mic settings and characters that can be cross combined) there’s an advanced stereo spread and modulation unit for even more tweakability.

This plug-in also comes with low cut and high cut filters, pre-delay (with tempo sync), a full set of factory presets, and a built-in ducker making it easy to tame transients on the wet signal.

Anatomy

1. Make an entrance - Input gain + filter.

2. Go to your go-to room - Choose between 10 carefully sampled small rooms.

3. Make it yours - Choose mic setting + different characters of the room.

4. Move away from the walls - Simulate how far from the walls your sound source is by setting a pre-delay.

5. Need a duck? - Taming the transients in a more natural way.

6. Spread with butter - Modulation & stereo-spreader to set the final width.

Features

  • 10 different rooms with 6 variants each
  • 3 different types of stereo spread algorithms
  • Modulation control
  • Ducker (compression) for the wet signal
  • Pre-delay with tempo synchronization
  • Low cut and high cut filters
  • Plenty of factory presets

Description

Reverb: Spatial simulation

Reverbs, simulating the millions of tiny echoes that naturally bounce off  the walls in a room, have become an central part in glueing together sounds  in a song. There are likely few tracks today that don't contain reverb in any form.

The kHs Reverb is a simple but powerful reverb, which helps you to quickly  tune in the character you want.

What's a Snapin?

This plugin is a "snapin". That means you can use it as a regular VST/AU plugin, or you can use it with our snapin hosts Multipass and Snap Heap where you can combine effects in amazing ways.

Perfect Room

Reverb by denise

Images

Description

Get a room with denise – supernatural reverb.

How would your music sound in a perfect room?

Classic algorithmic reverb plugins use a combination of short feedbacking delays to create the illusion of reverberation. These delays cause unwanted metallic resonances and sharp spikes in the reverb’s frequency response. The denise team challenged themselves to create something better - a perfect room - and invented their TXVerb™ technology. Using this technology, the denise Perfect Room doesn’t use delays for the tail and will enhance the character and colouration of any audio you run through it in an extremely natural way, sounding defined and tight from the lowest kick all the way up to the highest vocal.

Looking for feedback from professional musicians and engineers, denise asked Thomas Qvist of the Royal Danish Conservatory to test the Perfect Room. He tried it out with his students, and even though the team at denise think the Perfect Room is powerful, it’s always an exciting moment for them to find out if the real world actually likes it, too. Go and test it yourselves...

Features

  • TXVerb™ reverb technology: Unique algorithm that enhances natural character & colouration.
  • Zero metallic resonance: Retain the clarity and presence of your lead instruments without metallic cluttering.
  • Completely tight low-end: Add reverb that sounds completely tight when used on low sources like kick-drums, toms, basses & synths.
  • Larger than life mono –> stereo: Create a wide stereo reverb from a mono source without any phase issues.
  • Crazy effects: Built-in Shimmer, Detune & Internal Ducker.
  • Single tracks, busses & mastering: Sounds so balanced you can use it on your whole track during mastering.
  • Perfect for external FX: Used on a bus, you can combine the Perfect Room with all kinds of effects to create character and excitement.
  • denise challenge you! Go try and compare the Perfect Room with your favourite natural reverb.

Blackhole

Reverb by Eventide

Images

Description

Extraterrestrial Reverb

Most reverbs are earth-bound and constrained by the physics of the real world. Our Blackhole reverb breaks the rules by allowing you to create virtual spaces that could never exist in reality (at least the one we inhabit). At large sizes, its soft attack and lingering, harmonic tails allow it to really shine on guitars, strings and pads. At small sizes, those very same qualities can add an angelic sheen to vocals or turn a simple drum track into an otherworldly rhythm section.

From the Extreme to the Sublime

While it’s true Blackhole is capable of creating space-warping special effects and drones, it’s also capable of creating musical and subtle effects you’ll find useful for highlighting key instruments or painting a backdrop for your mix. Whether you're at the event horizon or closer to home, Blackhole will inspire and amaze while its intuitive controls will allow you to add that special something to your tracks without a degree in rocket science.

In short, Blackhole is destined to be one of those tools that you turn to time and again when reality just isn't enough.

The Secret Weapon

This famed, massive reverberator first saw the light of day as an algorithm in our rackmount DSP4000 and remained a favorite in the rackmount H8000FW. For decades studio engineers considered Blackhole their "secret weapon." More recently, it was ported to our Space stompbox and became the go-to ambient effect for guitar and keyboard layers. With each new version the reverb has been refined and enhanced.

We’ve now perfected the galactic sounds of the Blackhole reverb in native plug-in form. With the Blackhole plug-in, any instrument in your DAW can warp acoustic space and time.

Features

  • Incredibly easy to use with over 50 presets; many created by Eventide artists
  • Ability to create extremely musical effects useful for highlighting key instruments
  • Supernatural settings for abstract spatial effects and drones
  • Subtle settings for ambient washes and track higlighting
  • Unique “Gravity” control reverses the arrow of time by inverting the reverb's decay
  • Kill Switch mutes the input so you only hear the reverb. This makes for some incredible effects when automated
  • Mix Lock allows for scrolling through presets or settings while keeping the wet/dry mix constant
  • Fully flexible mono and stereo options. Bring new realms of stereo imaging to mono instruments
  • Innovative Ribbon and Hot Switch allow for changing any combination of parameters simultaneously
  • Full support for the Native Instruments NKS Effects system.
  • Presets Make it Easy

  • Blackhole was designed to give you extensive control, allowing you to craft your own signature sounds. Included with Blackhole is a carefully curated set of 50 presets that serve as a launch pad for your explorations. These presets cover spaces as small as a room and as large as space itself.

TSAR-1R Reverb

Reverb by Softube

Images

Description

TSAR-1R Reverb is the little sibling of the more adjustable TSAR-1 Reverb. They share exactly the same high end reverb algorithm, but TSAR-1R offers extreme ease of use for a fast and intuitive workflow.

Essentially, TSAR-1R is operated with a single control—the Time slider. Add depth and dimension to any sound with short and controlled room sounds, or slide it up towards hall settings for large, dramatic spaces. It really is as easy as that, and it always sounds stellar.

The True Stereo Algorithm inside the TSAR-1R Reverb and the more adjustable TSAR-1 Reverb is what gives them their magic. The strength lies in the sophisticated sound and versatility, no matter whether they are used on strings and brass or rock drums and lead vocals, they always shine. All this while still having a comprehensive and easy-to-use interface that is unparallelled in other high-end reverb products.

Features

  • Predelay - Perfect for getting that small gap between the vocals and the reverb tail
  • Time - One fader to rule them all. The Time control changes the Density, Diffusion, Early Reflections, Reverb Time, etc. Almost like a continous swipe through all the best presets.
  • Color - Need a bright or a dark reverb?
  • True Stereo Algorithm - Same as in TSAR-1 Reverb
  • Extremely easy to use
  • Modern and powerful high-end Reverb
  • Fast and easy, yet powerful. Apart from Mix and Volume, there's only three parameters in TSAR-1R. Don't let that fool you though, it has never before been this easy to dial in a great reverb sound.

Tverb

Reverb by Eventide

Images

Description

The Sound of a Legend

Tverb was developed in collaboration with legendary producer, engineer and musician, Tony Visconti. The plug-in was inspired by the iconic sound of the title track of David Bowie’s twelfth studio album, Heroes, recorded in August 1977 in the shadow of the Berlin Wall. With only one track left for lead vocals, Visconti was able to harness the power of Bowie’s voice by inventing a stunning recording technique. This technique is the foundation of Tverb.

Visconti set up three microphones in the hall of Berlin’s Hansa Studios, the first for Bowie to sing directly into, a second positioned about 15 feet away and the third further back in the hall. Visconti placed gates on the second and third microphones set to open as Bowie sang louder and louder.

Signature Techniques

Tverb integrates three completely independent lush reverbs with compression and selectable polar patterns on microphone 1 and adjustable gates on microphones 2 and 3. Tverb recreates Visconti’s iconic effect as a starting point while adding features that enable new soundscapes and effects. The use of stereo microphones enhances the effect and DAW automation can be used to program the microphones to wander around the hall as the track plays.

Inspiration of the Past/Power of the Future

Tverb was designed with a new level of efficiency for plug-ins. It captures the rich ambience of Hansa’s studio 2, the historic Meistersaal concert hall, without burdening your DAW’s CPU. Tverb features three independent reverbs, with the ability for the two far microphones to be convincingly placed anywhere in the hall.

Features

  • 2 Moveable microphones to adjust reverb size and tone
  • Adjustable polar patterns for microphone 1 to adjust the amount of ambient room tone
  • Custom Eventide reverb algorithm with EQ, diffusion, and decay control
  • Compressor module on microphone 1, just as Visconti had in the original session
  • 2 Linkable post-reverb gate modules with control of when the gates close, the speed at which they close and the length of time they are forced to stay open
  • Console (inspired by the one used in the session and with Visconti’s "grease pencil" labelling) provides post-reverb channel processing for each individual mic and the master
  • Room mixer module alters the sound of the room itself with control over decay, diffusion and frequency attenuation
  • Signal inversion buttons to remove (or create) phase cancellation
  • Mix Lock allows for scrolling through presets or settings while keeping the wet/dry mix constant
  • Complete automation support

FabFilter Pro-R

Reverb by FabFilter

Images

Description

Natural Sound, Musical Controls

As one of the most used effects in the audio world, reverbs come in all forms and flavors. A great reverb sounds natural and sits in the mix perfectly. At the same time, it should not confuse you with over-technical controls, but must be easy to set up and a joy to work with. Enter FabFilter Pro-R.

Make Some Space

FabFilter Pro-R takes a musical approach to reverb, offering user-friendly, non-technical controls like Brightness, Character and Distance to achieve the reverb sound you are looking for — without requiring a degree in reverb science.
The stepless Space control lets you fade between dozens of different, carefully tuned room models, automatically choosing a matching decay time for a natural-sounding result.

Shape the Decay Time

The decay time of a real room often varies wildly over the frequency spectrum, which is one of the key ingredients of a room's reverb character. To simulate this, the industry-first Decay Rate EQ concept in FabFilter Pro-R offers completely free adjustment of the decay time over the frequency spectrum.
Since it uses parametric EQ bands instead of a traditional crossover system, it provides much more flexibility to shape the decay time characteristics. Together with the integrated 6-band Post-EQ, designing reverbs of any style or character has never been easier.

FabFilter Goodies

Of course, you also get all the usual FabFilter goodies: perfectly tuned knobs, interactive MIDI Learn, undo/redo and A/B switch, Smart Parameter Interpolation for smooth parameter transitions, an extensive help file with interactive help hints, sample-accurate automation, advanced optimization and much more!

Key Features

  • Beautifully designed room models, ranging from small ambiences and rooms to large concert halls and huge cathedrals.
  • Carefully developed to easily fit in the mix, without causing undesirable coloration, density or phase problems.
  • Gorgeous Retina interface with large interactive reverb display featuring Decay Rate EQ and Post EQ curves.
  • Very easy to set up, with user-friendly, non-technical controls.
  • Stepless Space control, which smartly and smoothly combines the room model and decay time of the reverb. You can choose from over a dozen carefully designed room models and seamlessly vary between them, without hearing clicks or unwanted artifacts.
  • Decay Rate control, changing the overall decay time from 50% to 200% of the current Space setting.
  • Intelligent Stereo Width control, ranging from pure mono to true stereo and beyond.
  • Distance control to adjust the proximity to the sound source in the selected space.
  • The Character control changes the sound from a clean, transparent decay, to a lively reverb with pronounced reflections and echoes, all the way to an over-modulated chorus-like effect.
  • Perfectly tuned Brightness knob, affecting not only overall brightness, but also the decay of high frequencies.
  • Mix knob with a Lock Mix option, which prevents preset loading from overriding the current mix setting.
  • Predelay control via the bottom bar, ranging from 0 to 500 ms, with optional host tempo sync.
  • Innovative six-band Decay Rate EQ, giving you full control over the decay rate at different frequencies.
  • Six-band Post EQ to equalize the final reverb sound. Together with the Decay Rate EQ, this lets you design reverbs of any style or character.
  • Real-time spectrum analyzer that also visualizes the decay time at different frequencies.
  • Full Screen mode, offering a large analyzer display and Decay Rate EQ and Post EQ controller.
  • Multiple interface sizes: Medium, Large and Extra Large.
  • Stereo and mono plug-ins available.
  • Supports common Pro Tools hardware control surfaces.

Mutant Reverb

Reverb by W.A. Production

Images

Description

Clearer Space

'Mutant Reverb’ is a mono-to-stereo reverb plugin with a built-in ducker; perfect for vocals, percussion, synths and many other applications where you need precise control of reverb tails. Adding reverb to sounds gives warmth, character and places the sound in a real-world space. However, big problems arise when a reverb tail masks the clarity of the original signal, resulting in a muddy and undefined sound. Mutant Reverb is the solution, in just a couple of clicks, you can duck the reverb processing out of the way of the original audio without any complicated side-chain or compression routing. Just plug and play.

Mutant Reverb offers Stereo Split processing with a lush reverb algorithm that can turn a mono source into a stereo reverb signal. W.A Production has also included several controls to tune the room and tail character of the reverb effect. The Internal Ducker section gives you the typical threshold, ratio, attack, hold and release controls, to create space in your mix. You can even mute the original signal, to listen to the ducked reverb effect in precise detail or use the plugin on an effect bus. The visual feedback section at the top of the interface shows how the dry and wet signals are interacting in two distinct colours, making it easy to identify the reverb and ducking. Whether you’re producing vocal, synth or percussion tracks, Mutant Reverb should be in your back pocket to create space and clarity in the mix.

Power

The Mutant Reverb logo acts as a bypass control for the whole plugin, and is smoothed to be click and pop free for unhindered A/B testing.

Visual Feedback

The waveform graph at the very top of the interface shows the dry source and the wet reverb signal in different colours. You can clearly see the reverb tales and the ducking taking place.

Mix Control

Use the Mix dial to set the wet reverb level. Used in conjunction with the Threshold and Ratio dials within the Internal Ducker section, this parameter can give precise control over the performance of the reverb tail.  If you want to listen to the ducked reverb effect in solo mode (or use the plugin as an effects send) just activate the mute button to mute the source signal.

Time & Pre-Delay

With the Time dial, you can set the length of the reverb tail up to an infinitive amount for endless ambience. Adjust the reverb's pre-delay time with the addition dot control, up to 100ms.

Size & Diffusion

Set the simulated room size of the reverb with the Size dial and adjust the reverb's diffusion with the additional dot control, smoothing the sound of the simulated room.

Frequency shaping & Dampening

A common reverb technique; shaping the frequency of the reverb tail reduces high and low-end clutter. Mutant Reverb’s High & Low pass filter nodes can be used to filter the output of the ambience to high and low limits of your choosing. The dot control attached to the filter allows adjustment of the dampening, simulating a more natural sounding space.

Internal Ducker Section

The ducking section of the interface works similarly to a standard compressor and the Threshold and Ratio dials are the main controls for shaping how the ducked signal is processed. Threshold sets the intensity level at which the compressor starts working and the Ratio dial dictates how much gain reduction is applied.

Advanced Controls: Attack / Hold / Release

You can fine tune the behaviour of the ducking effect with the Attack, Hold and Release dials. Attack allows you to ignore transients in the original signal. Hold stabilises the generated gain reduction. Release sets the fade out time for the gain reduction. Adjusting these parameters is the key to shaping your bespoke reverb effect.

Presets

Including a wide range of factory presets, Mutant Reverb is designed to get you up and running quickly. The specially tailored settings include many types of ambience, from plate and room emulations right through to special FX. These are all easily accessible from the plugin menu and of course, you can save you own settings as user presets too.

This all-in-one frequency shaped ducked reverb gives you precise control over the reverb tails of vocals, percussion, synths and so much more. Mutant Reverb perfectly controls the feeling of ambience and space, without complex routing and side-chaining, maintaining the clarity of the original signal. Tame those tails!

W. A. Production are real-life producers making creative plugins to help you achieve studio quality processing quickly and easily. Enjoy!

MTurboReverb

Reverb by MeldaProduction

Images

Description

MTurboReverb is a revolutionary algorithmic reverb, which features about 100 superb sounding reverbs in a single plugin and even lets you design your own reverb algorithms. It is quick, easy-to-use, perfect for mixing, mastering and creative production...

Maybe you do not need to design you own reverbs - you can consider the cheaper version MTurboReverbLE which provides all those 100 reverbs.

About 100 great sounding reverbs ready for you to use

Algorithmic reverbs are usually based on a single algorithm. But MTurboReverb comes up with a revolutionary programmable engine, where you can design your own algorithms, but most importantly about 100 of them have already been prepared for you, with a standardized GUI for extremely quick workflow and a short learning curve. There is everything from rooms to halls, plates, ethereal and shimmering sounds, and 2D positioning reverbs.

Each of these reverbs feature all the necessary controls such as dry/wet or reverb length, but also more special ones, such as a dynamics section or side high-pass filter. Switching between the reverbs is one click away, which tremendously speeds up your creative workflow.

Programming your own reverb

The Edit screen of the MTurboReverb plugin is certainly not for beginners, but if you have the courage, it actually lets you build your own reverbs! The plugin comes with 4 early reflection generators, which are editable graphically. But the true revolution comes in the form of 6 late reflection generators, each featuring a simple programming language, which lets you define the actual reverberation algorithm. And it's not complex at all, in fact, every algorithm takes only a single line. The plugin has been designed to make everything needed to make this work quick and easy; it does most of the design work for you automatically. Despite all the simplicity, it may not be just reverbs you can create; you can exploit complex feedback structures featuring modulation effects, pitch shifters, saturators and much more. The only limit is your imagination...and the algorithm generator, yes, it can even generate new algorithms...

Never-ending supply of creative features

Let's say you are temporarily out of ideas how to make something sound more interesting. No problem. Randomize any ER or LR section, or use one of the hundreds of presets for them. Exploit the modulators to do, well, almost anything. Mess up any of the predefined reverbs. And if that's not enough for you, there is also a multiband version MTurboReverbMB available for you. If that won't help you, nothing will.

64-bit plugins can't work in 32-bit hosts even if the operating system is 64-bit. Do NOT use 32-bit plugins in 64-bit hosts. They would have to be bridged and can become slow and unstable.

Mac OS X

  • Mac OS X 10.9 and newer (64-bit only)
  • VST / VST3 / AU / AAX compatible host (64-bit only)
  • Intel/AMD processor with SSE2 support or Apple Silicon processor

Description

MTurboReverbLE is an edition of our revolutionary algorithmic reverb MTurboReverb, at a lower price, but has a few limitations.

The limitations of MTurboReverbLE

MTurboReverbLE doesn't let you access the multiband version or the Edit screen, so you cannot design your own reverbs or modify the existing ones. But it still contains about a hundred of great sounding reverbs for a price anyone can afford.

About 100 great sounding reverbs ready for you to use

Algorithmic reverbs are usually based on a single algorithm. But MTurboReverb comes up with a revolutionary programmable engine, where you can design your own algorithms, but most importantly about 100 of them have already been prepared for you, with a standardized GUI for extremely quick workflow and short learning curve.
